I have both, I have a Remington SPS tactical in .308 and I have a Savage 6.5 Creedmoor 10-TSR. I think the Savage is an overall better value because you get more for your money. I like the Remington stock more because it feels more confortable and grippy. I also like the bolt more, I do like the oversized bolt in my savage aside from the fact that it isnt smooth and catches.
I was a Rem fan for over 40yrs, Hands down the Savage 10 FCP-SR is by far the better rifle, But get the Accu stock and accu trigger, I also just bought the Mod 11 in 243 accu trigger but not stock, However the stock is by far better than the ruger American, You cant squeeze stock to touch barrel the way the American does, Hold both you will see the difference very quickly, Savage is the rifle all others are trying to catch up with for sure
John H exactly. I couldn’t have said it better myself. Why in the world would anyone pay more for less. Savage and others are offering free floated barrels, user adjustable triggers. Several manufactures are offering 1 Moa or less guarantees? Come on Remington.
I agree with it all. Barrel swapping is the best upgrade you can do too. I still do not understand why anyone who isn't brand loyal and who wants to be frugal/practical would get anything but a Savage Axis or a savage in their budget under 1.5-2k. Until someone convinces me otherwise (and I ask that some one try) I'm under the impression that you can buy a Savage axis, choose a stock you want for looks or even fill up the current stock and bed it, then buy a really nice barrel from a proven accurate company. Do that and you've got something shooting amazing groups at 100 yards or more. So many guys are quick to say "savage sucks" who never shoot past 300 yards yet when pressed on their opinion the topic of shot groups never even comes up. Literally how tight a rifle shoots is all that I care about.
I have a pretty walnut stocked ADLwith a 4 shot magazine in 30/06 and it's accuracy is phenomenal at 100 yards I personally love the gun no complaints and I owned mega guns in my day
I looked at several different rifles and finally came across the Savage Model 111 in .300 Win Mag. I love it! Accu Trigger and a much better stock and smoother action than the Axis rifles.
I have a Savage Model 10 Tactical in .260 Rem and a Model 110 FCP HS in .300 Win Mag. These rifles are excellent. Very accurate right out of the box. If you take the time to hand load for them, you can get .5 MOA accuracy or better. I too like Nikon scopes. Both my Savage rifles have Nikon scopes on them. My scopes are more upscale then the ones in this video. But, they were far less expensive then the big name scopes while having excellent otical clarity. All in all, a Savage bolt action with a Nikon scope will allow you to shoot accurately out to 800 yards in calibers like .308, .260 and 300 Win Mag.
The best bang for the buck is the savage. Compare modern day productions of both and the savage wins. Old school productions are probably the other way around.
Remington triggers are adjustable by adjusting 2 screws, you should get a qualified gunsmith to do it. My Rem 700 still has the stock trigger and it has been set at 2 lbs it is very crisp with zero creep. It is a major contributor to the fact that I can shoot one hole at 100m with hand loads.
Rem is great so I mean with utmost respect but; trigger is a huge part due to trigger. Mine is 10T that was only cabelas. It has a different thicker handle bolt. It also has heavier barrel. Heavy barrel is definite bonus to multiple rounds, but harmonics of hbar helps make the accuracy BETTER in MY experience. I personally like the magazine too for quick change-out: though if your sending that much at game you need some range work.
the 700 is a sps varmint w/1:12 twist for light bullets. the trigger is a 40x which is adjustable. I carry my 700 varmints in field all day whackin chucks an p-dogs, aint nothing for weight. the weight counters recoil. mine are actually heavier I have custom stocks with xtra weight to balance. CZ has nice rifles too. you are comparing 2 different types of rifles with different purposes. personally I'm still on the wall about the accu-trig. I like the tradional styles.
@Reel-Lentless in the last couple years they changed. I've bought 4 of the new 110s with the accufit stocks. They hit a homerun with them. Even the 243 they call a 110. I think they still make a model 10 but the 110s can be either. All 4 of my 110s shoot outstanding.
ima try to get the savage model 10 308 worry rhe walnut wood stock. with accu trigger. i think the savage model 10 trophy hunter xp comes with that exact scope.
U2Jaime1317 if you watch my savage model 111 video you'll see the rifle has a nikon scope but it's not the buckmaster it's called the nikon trophy hunter and only comes on the trophy hunter line from savage I have both scopes and I will say the buckmaster is a nicer scope.
2 4 3 is me after shooting the model 10 308, its given my friend a bruise. im fine for now but it kicks very aggressively. is there any good butts out there to abdorb a lot of that killer recoil? thank you
Deerslayer1912 or cz i have 550 American in 243 superb rifle also single set trigger detachable metal mag varmint barrel kicks some arse in australia this trigger is great for long distance shots
buy the Remington 700 BDL or CDL,they are the same rifle,,,,if you want top quality you will never be happy with the savage,, ,don't get me wrong the Savage is a fine rifle but the workmanship is not the same,, no matter which you decide to go with buy something from the mid 80s or older, todays rifles many have a piss poor ejector in them no matter the brand
I have a Savage 11VT with heavy varmint barrel in .22-250...threw a Boyd's stock on it for $137...1/2 moa at 100 all day long. Also have have a 10T in .308 just as accurate (both are factory bull barrels)...fuck Remington
Then you take them to the range and the Savage probably outperforms the Remington all day long. At least my $450 Savage 10 FCP-XP does against my $1200 Remington LTR or my Remington SPS tactical. All in 308.
I am 62 I know both guns well the savage cost less than the Remington 700,,,,,both will get the job done but nothing can beat Remington 700,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,and this video if the rifles are not on the range being fired without comparing performance this video was a waste of time
They don't guarantee it, but, 2 friends of mine each bought a camo-dipped heavy barrel Howa sniper in 308 (approx $750 each) that both shot 1/2 MOA groups.
Sierra MatchKing Savage model 10T has the heaviest profile barrel savage has. The one without any fluting. It’s got a 0.85 muzzle. Anyway the howa 1500 and the savage model 10T are comparable in price however the stock on the howa is junk compared to the accustock and of course the accutrigger beats the howa trigger. I’ve built long range precision rifles from both howa and savage and savage wins hands down. Howa makes a great rifle,or should I say weatherby makes a great rifle. But savage today will perform as well as ANY other factory produced rifle, for less money.
varanid9 the savage model 10T with heavy barrel, accustock and accutrigger will print sub 1/2moa consistently, with decent factory ammo and even better with tuned reloads. I am calling bullshit on your comment though. Fat chance it’s shooting 1/2moa with all ammo.
I chose the savage 10 fcp sr. $549! 1/2 moa out of the box. 24" heavy fluted barrel, Trigger is awesome, came with a 10 round mag, accustocks are great and definately better than i thought, bolt is smooth and theyre sopposed to be floating so it seats perfect every time. Absolutely best deal on the market.
@@frankmiller95 agreed, back when I got into precision rifle shooting I bought a 308 and shot it until I understood ballistics. Still hunt with it. The terminals are outstanding with my hand rolls
great video, thanks for the content
Nicely done video, thanks! Just bought a 110 tonight.

I use a savage 10 FCP-SR in PRS matches and it works great but the newer ones have crappy Mags they need a new stock to accommodate a AICs mag
7-1-5 this was live thank you
I have a pretty walnut stocked ADLwith a 4 shot magazine in 30/06 and it's accuracy is phenomenal at 100 yards I personally love the gun no complaints and I owned mega guns in my day
Fair enough. Good job.
I've been looking for a rifle sling with that camo pattern for a while , who makes that sling ?
hello i have the same scope you have where can i buy the cap cover and what size thanks man
Where did you get the bolt handle for your savage ?
I looked at several different rifles and finally came across the Savage Model 111 in .300 Win Mag. I love it! Accu Trigger and a much better stock and smoother action than the Axis rifles.
Savage 10 .308 in a heavy 20" barrel for me
Good video......
I have a Savage Model 10 Tactical in .260 Rem and a Model 110 FCP HS in .300 Win Mag.

What, you sell nikon scopes or something?
what sight on the web can you find the stocks for the savage? I have a hard time finding it.
Boyd's gunstocks

make sure you shoulder that dry fire :s
Nice jazz hands.

Get a harris, those bipods are definetely lacking

So is that savage a long action chambered in .308?
.308 is a short chambered cartridge
@Reel-Lentless not on the new ones. They are 110s short or long both.
@Reel-Lentless in the last couple years they changed. I've bought 4 of the new 110s with the accufit stocks. They hit a homerun with them. Even the 243 they call a 110. I think they still make a model 10 but the 110s can be either.

did you say how much the savage weights?
its about 7lbs

2 4 3 is me i planned on putting a leupold vx2 or vx3 anyway haha and keeping the nikon for a beat off rifle in future.
U2Jaime1317 looking to pick up the 111. What good aftermarket stocks are out there for this model? Need something that will offer adjustable LOP.
80's kid 4ever the Boyds varmint line is a nice way to go as far as stocks.
2 4 3 is me after shooting the model 10 308, its given my friend a bruise. im fine for now but it kicks very aggressively. is there any good butts out there to abdorb a lot of that killer recoil? thank you
Needs a sound quality fix.
Remington used to good rifles, but new owners not so good anymore. Savage is happening now.
Edwin Acevedo why did bolt jump during dry fire wach the remington i would choose the savage if freedom arms nock out sub standard rifles
I have both in 223
You didn't say how much the savage weighed
Pretty heavy, half an ounce short of 10lbs
so which would you recommend for people hunting?
hog* lol auto correct
+Derrick S. Tran. That was funny! Good shit.
CZ 550 30-06
Bergara, Weatherby, Tikka, Savage, Howa or Sauer.
Deerslayer1912 or cz i have 550 American in 243 superb rifle also single set trigger detachable metal mag varmint barrel kicks some arse in australia this trigger is great for long distance shots
I do not understand the negatives...... why?
In a game I have savage model
Can't decide if I want a savage or a Remington😁
Umm 😐???????
I need help
why not get both
What do you want to do with the rifle?
buy the Remington 700 BDL or CDL,they are the same rifle,,,,if you want top quality you will never be happy with the savage,,
,don't get me wrong the Savage is a fine rifle but the workmanship is not the same,,
no matter which you decide to go with buy something from the mid 80s or older, todays rifles many have a piss poor ejector in them no matter the brand
axis xp or 783?
Ruger American
Axis 2. If you want unreal accuracy get heavy barrel. If you are hunting get sporter barrel
Price savage 110 ?
I have a Savage 11VT with heavy varmint barrel in .22-250...threw a Boyd's stock on it for $137...1/2 moa at 100 all day long. Also have have a 10T in .308 just as accurate (both are factory bull barrels)...fuck Remington

i dont like the modl 10 stock!! scratch very easy
Savage rifles are better by a mile
I am 62 I know both guns well the savage cost less than the Remington 700,,,,,both will get the job done but nothing can beat Remington 700,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,and this video if the rifles are not on the range being fired without comparing performance this video was a waste of time
Remington or Savage?
My decision was neither. Went with the Howa 1500. Beat both of them in terms of price, quality, handling and accuracy.
They don't guarantee it, but, 2 friends of mine each bought a camo-dipped heavy barrel Howa sniper in 308 (approx $750 each) that both shot 1/2 MOA groups.

Why tf do gun companies keep selling precision rifles in 308? Honestly much better ways to go
Because lots of people want them. lt's called economics 101.
@@frankmiller95 agreed, back when I got into precision rifle shooting I bought a 308 and shot it until I understood ballistics. Still hunt with it. The terminals are outstanding with my hand rolls
Also a NATO round
You are bit too negative with your personal opinion.
