Love your husband's kitsch find. Really unique. And when you think about it......a very thoughtful gift. No way would my husband take the time to bring me something like this. So glad you included it in today's thrifting video.
I LOVE that you advocate for reusing & sharing already manufactured things!!! There is enough stuff in the world already! I'm glad that you try not to add to the garbage
Your thrifting philosophy is like mine. New or used, junk is only junk if it not used or in the way. I take things to Goodwill all the time when I’m not using them any more. I’ve challenged myself to make do with what I have or spend the least amount to furnish my house and yard in the most creative, beautiful way.
Lids from old tins at the thrift stores inverted make great plant holders like the stove burner covers. They are easy to find and almost free. Absolutely love the galvanized tubs. I’ve been looking for one of those for awhile.
Loved it ALL. That washstand!!!!!! Omygoodness. That Mary !!! What a precious gesture- Almost made me cry !!! People are so thoughtful & funny too, I’ve found . You’ve gathered unto yourself a lovely community, Linda. We appreciate you so much ! Love your Pinterest board too.
Loved this video Linda. Most of the stands, garden ornaments have come from yard sales and a lot from the side of the road and then we redo them to suit our needs❤️❤️❤️
That red blouse is stunning on you. I love to upcycle for my garden and home. My husband took apart a huge wooden cat tree and made a garden bench to set pots of veggies on. 🪴
Linda I appreciate your sense of repurposing. I feel being thrifty and regifting is the way to go economically.Besides overtime you save so much money. Love your red blouse on you, the color suits you well. Thanks for your sharing.🌿🪴🪴🍀☘️💐🌸🌼
Hi Linda, thanks UA-cam pushed your channel to me. I love it. I am a big fan of thrift store. I repurposed lots of staff from my local store in Toronto. Your video inspired me. I would like to let you know that the vase from your husband is a Chinese vase. It’ in the shape of a traditional Chinese dress. The symbol on it is “福”. This is a word including best wishes for happiness, health, lucky, fortune and everything good in your life. That’s the best gift 😊
I love the Samurai vase. The color and shape was beautiful. How sweet that your husband found it by the side of the road. Nice to have someone love you like that.
If only my husband would pick up something from the side of the road. I can't even get him to stop when I am in the car. I have to go back by myself. Love his find. The glass trays from the dollar store are a wonderful idea. Much better than an old tin pie plate.
It’s def not too much “junk”. Creative folks like Linda and the rest of us are visual people. I enjoy seeing what i could put to use and like Linda said, bring one thing in but put one thing or more out. I enjoy passing things to the next person to get use out of and enjoy 🪴
Loved this video. You and your husband are so talented! There really is an art form to repurposing found items. You do this so well. I like Asian art so I was amazed at your husband’s found treasure! When you are a rescuer at heart, you have an appreciation for items that get a second chance and for the people who give them that chance. ☺️. It’s good to be useful! 👏🪴🥰
I am also drawn to metals and cement garden items as well. I've got a healthy collection. I'm addicted to garden plant items. Ok the plants too... I use vintage aluminum bowls for planter saucers various designs that are very unique. It's just endless the repurposing ideas.
I love EVERYTHING you put your magic touch on!! Its all so cohesive and tasteful. I have learned so very much from your videos so thank you. I love your candle sniffers and the thoughtfulness of your viewer Mary. Enjoy your week and again thank you so much.
I too am drawn to all things metallic! Well, sconces, wall hangings, and candle holders! I bought a home 2.5 years ago and am developing my permaculture-ish, wildlife garden. Love love love to thrift! Thanks so much for being you & all that you do.
Hello Linda and Stewart! !! Oh I Love everything you found while Thrifting. Stewart you did and Amazing job at what you found. Linda those Canle sniffers are such a nice gift your friend sent you. Thank you for sharing all the tips along the way as they are very helpful. So until next time God Bless you and Stewart and have a Blessed day and Stay Safe my dear Friends. Oh I Love, Love, Love your top it looks so pretty on you. ❤❤❤😊😊😊❤
After working for a large grocery chain for 28 years ,owning my own ice cream parlour/ coffee shop for 5 years, my little part time job I now have at a local thrift store keeps me active in retirement and is absolutely the best job yet ! A thrifters dream ! 😀
You’ve inspired me to find lifts for my pots at thrift stores and unusual items for vases ! Thanks so much ! Excited to see your show on QVC! Hard work pays off congratulations!
Really enjoy the ways you 'display' just a simple plant! I am such a fan of having the outside of your home a beginning point for the inside! When arranging plants the 'display' should come together as well as the plants! The burner covers...love it! And finding that something that someone didn't need anymore can create a pulled together vignette in the garden. So happy I came across this particular episode, going out to hunt around my own garden to see what I can re-purpose from my own 'stash'! Thank you, always find the ideas here more than workable and adds to the enjoyment of the garden!!!
I always love your special finds! The double wash tubs are my favorite because they remind me of my grandmother who would always have her tubs filled with ice and cold beverages for cookouts in her back yard!😊❤️
Hi Linda...I so enjoy your garden thrift store fines and how creatively you use them in the garden. But kudos to hubby for finding a unique vessel to repurpose!
Loved this Miss Linda!! Target doesn't hold a candle to my three favorite thrift/consignment stores for garden & home decor! It's the thrill of the find & rescuing cool stuff!! ~We must all be good stewards, and wiser than the serpent! ~ 🐞Carol in PA 🌺... 🤗
The glass coasters look like mini microwave oven glass turntables, which BTW make great plant "coasters". I have a beautiful McCoy pottery art deco planter that weeps moisture through it's unglazed bottom. I keep a microwave glass disc under it and it works perfectly to protect my wood furniture. Over the years I have accumulated several from thrift stores and attrition and they really come in handy. Linda, thanks so much for the videos. I enjoy them.
OMG! I just found a pair of mounted wasn’t tubs like yours! Bless my sweet son, he came right to the store and loaded him in his truck! Can’t wait to set them up in the perfect corner ❤
Linda how much I enjoy your vids, I like to make myself a fresh cup of coffee and watch. I love thrifting makes me feel I'm on a "treasure hunt." For me it was a game (treasure hunting) I loved playing when I was a little girl lol lol it takes me back to those fond memories. TFS
You have inspired me! Just purchased a metal “candle holder” for $1. I will repurpose as a plant stand in my ivy to add some color and height. Super excited to see what it will look like! Would never have thought to do this before watching your garden tours. Thank you!
I appreciate you so much! I began thrifting at 16 many years ago! It’s like looking for treasures!I also do as you do share some of my finds as gifts . Love ya and wait to see your new videos every day! I love all your videos and all your ideas and info!
Thank you Linda , great inspiration’s , I have found many wonderful things I have seen on your show inside nd out, I call them treasures of the past , thank you so much,👼🏼🧚🏼👍
I absolutely love your creativity! I can't believe I recently spent good money on unattractive plastic coasters for some of my indoor plants when I could have used those glass trays from the dollar store, which would have looked nicer and cost less as well! I do have similar double wash tubs in my potting ares and use them for potting soil and compost. When you're done planting and you want to have a garden party, you just wash them out well, fill them with ice, and use to serve your bottled and canned drinks! Keep up the great work with these thrifting videos.
All are great finds, especially those tubs. Plant stands, always. Thank you for another inspiring video. Your enthusiasm is contagious. We love you lots!
Hi Linda! My name is Linda too, and I also love to repurpose thrift store finds for the garden! (And other purposes as well). Thanks for the lovely video!
The vase that your hubby found for you has a chinese word '福' on it ,which means good luck or blessing. I think it's a really good find. I love all you thifting ideas, I actually start to try thrifting for my garden as well. Thank you for sharing.
Kudos to your husband!!! Great find! Love the copper burner covers idea Definitely will be on the hunt for some of those. If not I’ll just spray paint some! Once again thanks for sharing!!
I too love those clear glass candle plates. I buy them at the thrift store whenever I see them. I put plants on them and they also work very well with cloches as a base.
My neighbor was throwing away a small (3 ft) cedar tree. Since I had just finished watching one of your topiary programs, I took the tree and made a topiary out of it. Your program is such fun to watch and I learn sooooooo much.
I love finding things on the side of the road then have people say oh that's cool where is it from and then I get the pleasure of saying from the side of the road and watch their jars hit the floor! No shame in my Game! I love these videos keep them coming!
Linda, you inspired a weekend thrift store purchase of a trio of rusted wrought iron candlestick holders of graduated height that will be buried in potted containers and used with citronella candles around a fire pit area. Goodbye tiki torches, we're getting' fancy!
Your glass dollar store pillar candle "saucers" are plentiful at thrift & junk stores near me. I also love to find the "big brother" version of these: glass turntable pieces from old microwaves!! They also have little feet, and are the BEST for larger plants or groupings of small pots!!! They're usually priced less than $2. I've used them indoors & outside and haven't broken one yet! I'm happy knowing glass can be recycled, endlessly, if one should ever break.
You got me excited. My husband is a thrift store junkie. I go sometimes when there is something I want and don't want to pay full price. Now I will be looking for things to use in my garden. Just starting my backyard garden. Have been planting in the front for years. Thanks for sharing. New sub.
Went thrifting yesterday and found a heavy, large metal cloche and a nice scoop. Not sure that they are old, but they were just what I was looking for. I love going to those little stores in small towns and have found pretty plants as well in local nurseries. I use those glass candle holders for my bathroom soap dispensers, but now I’ll need to go back to the dollar store to get some for under my African violets. : )
It’s wonderful what we can do with repurposed items. I do the same. One time I found an old wood ladder on the side of the road and I picked it up, painted it and it’s now in my garden used as a small pergola. Great video. I also go for metals and iron items. Thank you.
Thrifting is a great way to experiment with things you’ve never used before. I’ve admired lanterns in homes and gardens, but didn’t know if I was a “lantern person.” I found a couple used ikea lanterns, spray painted them, and tried them out at Christmas. Now that I know they are items I’ll enjoy using, I’m on the hunt for some that are more substantial and to my taste for year round use.
Linda you are absolutely amazing ,so gorgeous,so unbelievably smart ,u love to harden and so do I and I absolutely love anyone that loves and enjoys gardening !!Im sadden when I see gardens that are not taken care of,and I wish many more would take in gardening as an hobby it is absolutely so essential to one s well being!!Iy is to me definitely!!I definitely love love watching you!!❤️👍❤️

I love the stand you showed that may have been used to hold an orb of some kind. I had a thought, the bottom circle would be the perfect spot for another smaller pot with cascading vines/flowers. More visual interest. Love your ideas!!
Every Spring, I go through my garden tent shed, and really look at stuff and either I keep or donate, or it gets recycled out I'm collecting less and less , and my garden looks less crowded and more enjoyable to spend time in. 🌻
that is a GORGEOUS "hanging basket" on the thrift store stand!! maybe next time, Stuart could pan around so we can get fuller view!? i'd love to see how you composed it! i think i'm totally into hanging baskets this season, as i was just delighted by a few i saw yesterday at a local shop 😊 all the lovely components, variations and combinations are so exciting! what a fun challenge

Love the gifting idea of flower/veggie seeds. In the dead of Winter what a lovely way to remind a friend of coming Spring.
Lol...from junk to treasure! Your husband cracks me up. Gotta love the guy for getting excited about his find!
Love the laundry tub idea! So many fabulous ideas! Thanks. No idea why anyone would give a 👎
