@S Babu sir , it's also said by Yogis that after Clinical death the actual death takes places in stages , for a death in ripe old age ( post 84 yrs ) the 5 Prana Vayus separate in stages and it takes minimum 13 days for it to fully get rid of gravitational force , till then it keeps hovering around articles of its attachments etc . For a relatively younger death it can take upto 42 - 90 days depending on age and mode of death . That's why eating in house for those duration is prohibited as it's like eating Prana of one's own kith and kin who died .
Here Yogis differentiate between #Concious and #Unconscious deaths . For someone who is into regular meditation it's quite possible to remain concious during the last few moments of death and if one manages to do so esp in a consecrated sthala like Kaashi or if one is initiated by a Guru into some Dhyana then it's said that lifetimes of Sanchita karma plays out in fast forward and gets exhausted in last 42 seconds , it's called " Bhairavi yatana " where the suffering lasts for 42 seconds and after that the person is not born again . As long as Sanchita lasts one has to be reborn .
For those who die without finishing Prarabdha they have to slowly exhaust it in their subtle bodies which is a long time . There are Tantric rituals which can be done immediately after a person's death which can ease off the persons' existence in subtle plane .
For Unconscious deaths it's said that whatever the tendencies of the person at the moment of death it gets multiplied a zillion times as the Concious discretionary mind is gone , so the being will go by its' innate traits . He can make a hell or heaven out of himself . Here Tantric Death rituals like " KalaBhairava karma " instill a sense of blissfulness in the being which gets magnified and remains so till next birth .
That Silver cord connecting gross to subtle body ( sukshma sarira not Atma ) is called " Koorma Nadi " . It's directly related to one's breathing and Prana Vayu ( one of the 5 Vayus ) . If Koorma Nadi snaps breathing stops .
There are elaborate instructions on how to arrange things for a dying person , what to do when he / she is medically dead , all this is gone now , only very few Yogis know that .
"Garuda Puranam" has only bits and fragments of the information which does not help much .
Predicting death through charts works accurately only if one has not done any Sadhana to alter the factor called " Kala " within oneself to some extent . Through certain Sadhanas it's quite possible to extend one's life or go early too even though the charts may show something else .
Time ( kala ) + information (karma )+ Energy(Prana shakthi )- are three aspects of human life .
If Prarabdha karma exhausts earlier than Prana then one leads a vegetative life .
If Prana exhausts/leaves before Prarabdha Karma exhausts one becomes a Preta ( ghost )
For both to exhaust at the same time one must have some basic Yogic Sadhana in life .
The so called planes of existence are not actual geographical places but it reflects the condition of the Subtle body post death . If one is able to contact them even after death it means they are yet to exhaust their Prarabdha Karma .
It's not possible for them to convey anything without the Concious mind of a " medium " .
Every time a medium comes in touch with such entities it's not at all good for him unless he knows some Sadhana to keep off the negative consequences . Generally it's never advisable and not done . It amounts to "occult " where the karma for the person doing mediumships just multiplies unless he has some Sadhana to offset it .
