2:39 My calculator returned an "Error", then I found that I entered "304" rather than "0.304" for the p value. Edit: No wonder. Probability is determined by a value from 0.00 to 1.00. There is no "304 probability". ;)
According to the statistic shared at the beginning of the problem, if we choose a house at random there is a 30.4% chance that they will have a cat. The rest of the percentages are based off of a random sample of 100 households.
@@305dadecounty305 If we collect data from a random sample of 100 households, there are many different possible outcomes. We might find that 0 of them have cats, we might find that all 100 have cats, we might find that 50 have cats, etc. According to the statistic given at the beginning of the question, our most likely result is that 30 of them will have cats. But, even that result is not highly likely, due to the fact that there are so many possible outcomes. Using the binomial calculator, we find that the probability of us finding 35 households with cats (out of our 100 randomly selected homes) is .051, or 5.1%. For comparison purposes, our most likely result is that we find 30 households with cats. But even this outcome only has a probability of 0.086 (using the binomial calculator). Because there are so many possible outcomes for this scenario, no single outcome has a very high probability. Anyway, that's what the percentages mean here.
@professorsethd thank you very much! I feel like a lot of channels tell you how to calculate the answer but don't really explain the answers at times. Thanks for replying, seriously appreciate it.
THANK YOU SO MUCH. i was so confused on how to navigate "at least" statements with the calculator but you made it so easy. thank you.
Atleast = 1-
Great video, man! Keep the awesome content rolling!!! 👍👍❤️❤️🎉🎉
Thank you so very much! I was struggling with the last part and this helped!
THANK YOU SO MUCH. Do you know how hard i struggled with this 😭😭😭😭
This is extremely helpful
THANK YOU!!!! I legit could not understand this nowhere else!!!
Thank you so much you saved my life
wouldn't binomialcdf be used to find 25 or less instead of "less than 25" because it's cumulative?
Thank you sooo much.
🤗🤗🤗
Thank you, thank you, thank you. This video finally made the concept click for me :)
Thank you!
Thank you
Can you also subtract 25 from 34 on D
how can I download this calculator?

I dont get what the percentages mean. Does it mean that youre least likely to run into someone that owns a cat?

@professorsethd I get that part but what does the percentage mean for all the questions for example exactly 35 own a cat?
