Unfortunately we dominate as consumers in the beauty and personal care categories, and this is a multi-billion dollar industry that can be use to grow our community and black wealth. Collectively we dont support each others business or success which is unfortunate. We're brilliant people , very resources if only we put that to use and support one another to create the generational wealth.

Our main detriment, is simple. It's that too many of our 18% with 4 year degrees, or better. Did not heed Dr. E. B. Dubois', second part of the quote he used. Dubois said, once we got those degrees. We would "Come Back", to our communities. I was a part of the big transition (integration), that led to that almost doubling of the number of degrees. Dr. Dubois predicted would change us, in a beautiful way. Well the cry in the 60s and even until today. Get out of our communities! No other group did that. I would say 80-90% of college degree folk, entertainers, athlete's and other big money earners. Do not live in or near, the communities that produced them. That single fact, is at the root, of our non progress. They are chasing white folk. Example, For all the doctors and Lawyers we produce, few set up offices in or near our communities. Once we stay around, the rest will take care of itself.
Good point have you read The Mis-Education of the Negro By Dr. Carter Godwin Woodson (1933) Chapter 2 - How We Missed the Mark Chapter Summary: After slavery ended, the U.S. government established the Freedmen’s Bureau. One of its goals was to provide schooling for the former slaves. But, just what kind of schooling should these newly free people receive? Many argued that they needed what was considered a classical or liberal education, one that included philosophy, religion, science, and history. Others argued that an industrial education, one that focused on practical skills such as carpentry, sewing, and scientific farming, would be best for the freed people. The well-known debate between Booker T. Washington and W.E.B. Du Bois dealt with these two perspectives. Woodson’s position was somewhere between these two arguments. Woodson proposed that, above all, African Americans should be educated in a manner that would best develop their talents and build up their communities.
Are you kidding? Almost everyone wants to leave the ghetto! I don't want to be robbed, shot, or worried about my children falling into a gang. It is not fair to blame people for wanting to live in safety; most crimes against black people are black-on-black violence. Three of my good friends are dead! It wasn't a white person who killed them. Should black people move into a dangerous neighborhood to prove they are still black? If these actors, sports stars, lawyers, and doctors move into dangerous areas, the criminal element would eat them up. I agree we must fix these neighborhoods first, make them safe for the residents, then people can move in safely.

While direct funding is outside our current scope, we're happy to provide you with some possible connections that might be helpful for your sports center project in Lesotho: NGOs focused on international development or sports: These organizations often have programs that align with community development through sports. * Peace Corps: They have a presence in Lesotho and often work on grassroots projects. * World Vision: They work on various development projects globally, and some programs could align with a sports center initiative. * Right To Play: This organization specifically uses sport and play to protect, educate, and empower children facing adversity. Foundations (Private and Corporate): Many foundations provide grants for international development, sometimes with a focus on sports or youth. Research foundations that focus on Africa or community development. Government agencies (USAID and the U.S. Embassy in Lesotho): USAID funds development projects globally, and the U.S. Embassy in Lesotho may have local grant programs or connections. Check the embassy's website for "small grants" or "public diplomacy" programs. Sports governing bodies (National Olympic Committee, professional sports leagues): These organizations sometimes have international outreach programs focused on sports development. Universities: Some universities with sports management, international development, or African studies programs might be interested in partnering or providing expertise. When contacting these organizations, having a well-defined project proposal with clear goals, a budget, and a plan for sustainability will be essential. We hope these connections are helpful as you pursue this worthwhile project!

Yes indeed my grandmother told me that her father looked like a white man but he was black and because of it she got into arguments and fights defending her father that looked like a white man but he was born a black man smh 🙏
Jennifer, thank you for sharing that powerful story about your grandmother. It really resonates with Dr. Fraser's point about addressing assumptions head-on. It's a shame your grandmother had to go through that. We appreciate you sharing such a personal experience. We're also thrilled to announce that we recently reached 10,000 subscribers! We're building a strong community here and would love to hear more from you. What other stories or experiences have shaped your understanding of identity?

We do not have each other, there are no Black people because there is no group, association, organization, or benefit to being black. We don't help each other, we get no support from each other, and there is no place for a black to get money to start his business. We have to come together and pool our money to build our own world in this country. We can, it is possible, but most black people only care for themselves. Our future generations will do worse than ourselves, that means your children. We must prepare for the future instead of living for the day.

We have to be real. Europeans were under slavery worldwide under the system that this gentleman is twlking about....we had them under slavery. We make them walk from Arabia all the way to Caucaus mountains...took everything from them...I mean everything including language...so it doesn't surprise me that we went through the same. An eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth...and God just watched laughing at their misery when they were slaves and when we were slaves...I will not get into arguments here with anyone those that know history...know that we put the chains and the shakles first.... The cycle of 360 degrees is almost over and completed.
Thank you for view our program and providing your comments. The history of slavery spans many cultures, nationalities, and religions from ancient times to the present day. However, the social, economic, and legal positions of slaves have differed vastly in different systems of slavery in different times and places (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/History_of_slavery)

The opportunity write a check is good idea but 300 years slavery and one hundred years of Jim Crow have been a road block we need to overcome.
You're absolutely right. It's impossible to ignore the lasting impact of slavery and Jim Crow on economic opportunities for Black Americans. And systemic racism has created barriers that make it much harder for Black families to build wealth and have the same opportunities.

Good point have you read The Mis-Education of the Negro
By Dr. Carter Godwin Woodson (1933)
Chapter 2 - How We Missed the Mark
Chapter Summary: After slavery ended, the U.S. government established the Freedmen’s
Bureau.
Ron Harris You are
correct. We achieve and get as far away as we can... l understand it, but we have to do better..
@@ShamikaCrouch How do we do that? Friends of mine were murdered in poor neighborhoods, should I risk myself and my family?

Anyone interested in a sports Centre project to fund all the way in Lesotho🤞🏾 it might be cost effective to work together
@chartneypuffs8646 That's an interesting project! At the EMPOWER Series, our mission is to positively impact the world by inspiring people to thrive. While direct funding is outside our current scope, we're happy to provide you with some possible connections that might be helpful for your sports center project in Lesotho:
NGOs focused on international development or sports: These organizations often have programs that align with community development through sports.

We don't help each other, we get no support from each other, and there is no place for a black to get money to start his business. We have to come together and pool our money to build our own world in this country. We can, it is possible, but most black people only care for themselves.
