It always fascinates me that Hoodwinked was universally seen as a Shrek clone at the time. Obviously, I can see now that they certainly took inspiration from the satirical genre that Shrek created, but it takes itself far more seriously as its own spin on a fairy tale, rather than feeling like it's just using it as the butt of a joke. Oh!! So back in highschool i had a videogame programing class, and the program we learned to use was, i think called Alice?? And my teacher referenced Hoodwinked and had us watch it cause apparently the whole film was animated using Alice. Which, is honestly super impressive cause Alice had the most basic features, was kind of obnoxious to use and also, its free. So its not gonna have pixar levels of animation strangth. The budget was not put into the animation but i think the story really makes up for it. It was part of my family video rental rotation growing up 😅 Its funny, the mystery keeps you engaged, and the twist ending was legitimately shocking. When I was a kid I used to get anxiety dreams that I was skiing down a mountain being chased by that grandma, also on skis. I do not know why, but I was terrified.
Besides Bolt this was my favourite movie growing up. It's so disappointing that it's being removed from the internet, I remember watching it on Netflix ages ago, but I went back to check to see neither the original or Sequel on there. I'll have to look to see if I still have the DVD copy.

Hoodwinked is one of those movies I watched 100s of times as a kid and looking back I think it pretty much morphed me into who I am which is in some ways terrifying and expains a lot
I have never watched this movie before, I have only watched UA-cam videos talking about it. But maybe about a year ago I was taking a nap because I had a headache, and I had a dream that the goat from this movie was my husband.
this is why ppl should pirate movies. they can just erase masterpieces whenever they want. hoodwinked is still available u just gotta look a little further than streaming services.
The fact that this movie isn't available is a little wild to me! But, good news for everyone here is that I was literally going through my DVD collection last week and found my copy of the DVD for this movie. The budget was not put into the animation but i think the story really makes up for it. It was part of my family video rental rotation growing up 😅 Its funny, the mystery keeps you engaged, and the twist ending was legitimately shocking. Star wars could never lol anyways, i havent seen this film in years and im sad to learn i probably never will again 😔 thanks for spreading the word about this gem
I was like 13 when this came out and I first watched it on DVD. I have never laughed harder. I thought it was amazing. My 11 y/o brother couldn't get past the animation, but you're right, that adds to the hilarity.
15:35 That baby was thinking. She was sentient and had thoughts.
She's thinking about hoodwinked
I am so freaking sad because I’ve been raving about this movie to my nephews and I CANNOT FIND IT FOR THE LIFE OF ME
It’s funny that the bad guys plan is basically to use high fructose corn syrup
It really was a fever dream. Looking back, it sounds like a story a UA-camr would come up with.
I LOVED HOODWINKED AND SAFEGUARDING MY COPY!
Man I remember renting (or maybe buying idk) this movie and watching the masterpiece that is Hoodwinked in action! Such a good movie, really shows that you don't need the best graphics to have a good movie! I had the schnitzel song in my head 24/7 when I first watched it haha
In Poland the movie is called "Little Red Riding Hood, The True Story " and that title just hits difrent lmao
When I was a kid I used to get anxiety dreams that I was skiing down a mountain being chased by that grandma, also on skis. I do not know why, but I was terrified.
The goat from Hoodwinked lives rent free in my head yodeling. I rewatched this so many times with my cousins. 😂😅
This was one of me and my dads favorite movies growing up
Instant abonnement. Hoodwinked is a masterpiece, thank you for giving it some praise.
Besides Bolt this was my favourite movie growing up. It's so disappointing that it's being removed from the internet, I remember watching it on Netflix ages ago, but I went back to check to see neither the original or Sequel on there. I'll have to look to see if I still have the DVD copy.
Tbh the grandma being an adrenaline junkie was a fun twist, and i loved this movie as a kid! Tbh a cinematic masterpiece
EDIT: How could i have forgotten that the minecart scene appeared three times with more context lol. Iconic
I absolutely love when UA-camrs cover this movie, bc I grew up with it.
I remember having a very scuffed pirated version of this movie in Spanish on DVD and playing it on an old ass computer. The schnitzel song is more cursed in Spanish.
A SAVANTICS VIDEO ABOUT HOODVINKED YESSSS ILYSM
As a kid I loved hoodwinked but now looking back I didn’t realize how weird and messed up it was 💀 my favorite character was the goat with all the random horns
I'm lucky enough to have this on DVD. I got it as a kid and always loved it never thought it would be hard to find
When I was a child I honestly thought the bad animation was done ironically, especially the schnitzel song kids.
The movie is up for free on youtube right now without any ads and as far as I know works perfectly fine
You could say that you've been hoodwinked by its disappearance...
I remember the leadup to this movie coming out, but cant remember if we went to see it in theaters, but as soon as we got it on dvd, that disk saw a LOT of use and for a reason
Loved hoodwinked so much as a kid, i think I might still have the dvd somewhere, might try and find it for a re-watch
I remembered watching this as a kid and forgetting about it for 12 years. Such weird memories
That song Little Red sings in the beginning still lives rent free in my head whenever I ride my bike. Like I sing it sometimes! Truly Iconic
This movie used to be a core memory for me and my sister as kids
Im glad this film is getting the respect it always deserved.
Savantics, use the hood.
I’ve had a Hoodwinked DVD at home since like 2014 haven’t watched it in a while but I remember it pretty much
I used to play that creepy Schnitzel song on loop. This movie was perfection.
Thankfully I still have the DVD to.
As soon as you said it is almost impossible to find I searched everywhere for my DVD copy and finally found it. I blew the dust off then tried rubbing it in your face over the internet. I hope you felt it! hahahaha
Missing? wow I had no idea. My dad has played this movie at least 6 times a year for like the last 15 years. I saw it in theaters with my grandma and liked it so we got a dvd and he just still really likes it. Physical media ftw I guess
I mean, not fully missing, bc it still exists to be pirated, but missing to legally stream or purchase.
Definitely a classic in my book.
Do not adjust your sets; the legend is finally back on the air!
Told a guy at work about and he couldn't find it and I had to assure him its a real movie.
He looked at the difficulty of finding it as a challenge and did eventually find it and found it absolutely hilarious.
Still haven't figured out why it's banned🤔
One of the many mid/late 2000s animated films that has dirty crack house vibes for sure.
Really loved it as a kid and I still find it quite decent nowadays.
"Hmm, dee-no-me-tay. Must be Italian." - Twitchy
"Lose the candle!"
my grandparents still have the movie on dvd i think.
but it was a really good movie
I loved this movie. Watched it almost 30x. The goat was the GOAT.
The movie is on youtube. I found it and downloaded it within 5 min of searching.
I loved this movie when I was kid and thought I was going crazy when I couldnt find it streaming anywhere.
Grateful that someone uploaded to UA-cam and that my family kept the DVD
Hoodwinked is one of those movies I watched 100s of times as a kid and looking back I think it pretty much morphed me into who I am which is in some ways terrifying and expains a lot
I have never watched this movie before, I have only watched UA-cam videos talking about it. But maybe about a year ago I was taking a nap because I had a headache, and I had a dream that the goat from this movie was my husband.
this is why ppl should pirate movies. they can just erase masterpieces whenever they want.
hoodwinked is still available u just gotta look a little further than streaming services.
YARRR PIRATE!!!!! I love being a pirate!
Edit: Nevermind it's on UA-cam, welp, continue to be a pirate though.
Hoodwinked! haunts me animation-wise. It’s a great movie though. Just the animation haunts me.
Why was this in my algorithm? I've never found your channel but like 20 seconds in ik this is what I needed all week
The fact that this movie isn't available is a little wild to me! But, good news for everyone here is that I was literally going through my DVD collection last week and found my copy of the DVD for this movie. So like imma just go ahead and keep ahold of that for myself just in case this movie ever does go completely missing, then I can be the guy to help preserve it! Just in case!
Hoodwinker was absolute insanity but I have always loved it. It's the sort of crack movie that makes you question how many drugs the creators did in the process of making it but it was freaking BRILLIANT!!!
