Thanks so much for watching! I hope you found this video on our tax & business structure for us authors helpful. Be sure to find me over on Instagram & TikTok, so we can connect there as well!
As I am living in Portugal, I am only able to garner bits of useful info from this. But sure, you get a thumbs up in any case, because I love everything you do. 😊
Thank you. I just finished a writing my first book. I had no idea before all the important details I wish I had known in the beginning. This is a huge help. ❤
I'm sorry to hear people are stealing your content. I had my books plagiarized this month - Amazon pulled down 6 blatantly pirated books that even included my daughter's photographs. And I recently saw a dancer who had her exact choreography stolen. I wonder if AI stealing everyone's stuff just makes people feel they can take whatever they want. It's infuriating. Thanks for the video - and all the videos, so helpful.
That is so very sweet of you! I'm so sorry to hear you guys have had to deal with this, but so glad you and your daughter are keeping an eye out for those books!
Thank you SO much, Eevi, this is beyond helpful. I still consider writing children's books as a hobby, but I have already published 3 books this year and spent thousands of dollars on illustrators. I'm not really looking to make a profit, but does having that many books out mean the government will see it as a profession?
I'm so, so happy to hear this! I believe this really just depends on how we would see and classify those 2 measuring bases I shared in the video. Perhaps now that you have published your 3 books, you now have a longer period where you're not writing/ publishing anything? Then it might be less likely to be considered "regular." But please make sure you consult someone like a CPA, if you are uncertain. I so hope this helps.
