Georgian here. Casimir Pulaski died in 1779 while leading a charge in the Siege of Savannah. The battle was a horrific defeat for American forces. Almost 300 American/French soldiers died compared to approximately 40 British.
Yes that’s it. I was married in Savannah. My favorite city
@@PixelatedApollo1I didn’t know you got married. I did remember you saying that you had a fiancée tho
Congratulations
We've got a park and memorial bust of him in my town in Wisconsin. Pulaski, that is.
@@PixelatedApollo1 Did you know they were female? She was a admiral for the swedish navy. Know one knew until they dug up her grave too move it.
Go dawgs!
Just some basic background on the battle of Trenton: The US suffered only two fatalities during this battle, both of which came from the cold weather rather than direct combat.
The total casualties amounted to 2 dead and 5 wounded on the US side and 22 dead and 83 wounded for the hessians, with 800-900 hessians being captured. Future president James monroe himself (a continental army officer at the time) was wounded in this battle, suffering a musketball to the shoulder during the initial charge.
Pixelated Apollo is like sipping hot chocolate on a cold winter day. It always makes you feel warm and fuzzy inside when watching his videos. Merry Christmas to y'all
“Merry Christmas King George!! Time to die!!!!!” - George Washington, probably.
😂
So right about Muppet Christmas Carol. Michael Caine is acting his ass off alongside a bunch of puppets and it’s great
Every year me and my family watch all the Lord Of The Rings trilogies,my parents started the tradition when they started dating in the early 2000s,and we have been doing it ever since. (Love your videos Apollo! They are the highlight of my day!)
I (from the northern Netherlands) travel with my family to germany for new years eve. There we arive a few days before new years eve. At new years eve we gather at 9 o clock. We sit with a few snacks in front of the tv and at around 11 o clock a 50's sketch called "Dinner for one" (I really reccomend that sketch. Its Amazing) starts. After the sketch at 12 o clock we start the countdown and fire off some firework.
Only filthy rebels could launch attack on Christmas day.
Merry Christmas everyone.
As a southerner and a Texan, my state has a history of rebelling against rebels.
The U.S, Mexico, tea that doesn't have sugar in it (if you cant taste the diabetes it aint real tea dang it!)
PA is so famous they named a battle after him, haha! Merry Christmas!
Merry Christmas Apollo' hope y'all get a Million soon, been watching since I was in 7th grade, now I'm bout to finish up highschool maybe going to culinary school soon, time really does fly :)
Little tid bit: the Hessians (hesh-ins) were not actually mercenaries, despite such being taught in our schools. They were hired out to the British to bolster the income of their German princes, which made them British auxiliaries. Merry belated Christmas Apollo :D
Since there was underlying reason regarding the interests of German rulers, did the Hessian role within the British cause during the American Revolution carry similar circumstances as the King’s German Legion? The latter of which volunteered out of supposed loyalty to their deposed Elector of Hanover, King George III, after fleeing their homes from Napoleon’s occupation.
@@snipingflute4346 Not really. Like you said, Hanoverians volunteered out of existential fear of Napoleon. This differed entirely from the Hessians, who were basically leased out as a 'gentlemen's agreement' between royalty. Not to mention, the outcome of the American Revolution either way would have had miniscule effect on the Hessian principalities (not counting those sent to fight). The true role of the Hessians was to alleviate the British manpower shortage on the continent and allow the British to retain more of their higher quality units in Europe.
One individual tradition I do is watching pixilated Apollo with some snacks and drinks 🗿🗿😎
Merry XMAS everyone
Been watching since 2016, Keep it up Apollo!
Not celebrating much of Christmas here in India but merry Christmas to whoever is :)
Ahh! I love fulfilling my annual Christmas tradition of watching Apollo’s battle recaps while eating snacks
Aight so the rules for this were:
1: Both Hessians had to have 3000 gold left over.
2: Hessians had to stay on the town side of the river.
3: Any army could have up to 2 cav and 1 artillery.
4: Both Americans had to have at least 8 militia. Unfortunately minute men were not militia.
5: obviously winner controls the town at by the end.
But yee. Get in there and do some battle sometime.
Bit of a reason for the numbers gap is both hessians did take their most expensive 1900 gold cav. And the secondary cav they had was like 1000/800 gold. Which probably didn’t do nearly enough damage to justify the cost. And the 1900 cav alone could have got like nine militia or four more regulars each. But yeah the cav took a large portion of the fund. And the hessians kinda wasted some cannon firing at those two state militia on that small lane.
But hey I’m sure both sides had fun and they gave us a good replay.
why 3k gold left over?
@@TheManofthecross to give the US the advantage
@@TheManofthecross To give the Americans a bit of an advantage so the scenario would be somewhat accurate to history. And because the Hessians were playing a defensive battle with just 4 crossings. Only really two of them being viable. You would be mad surprised at how well a severely outnumbered force can do in a good defensive position in this mod in mp battles.

Older two in generals could have undermanned forces win if they used strategy well lol.
It's actually pretty cool to see an underdog win. Unfortunately after they yeeted chat multiplayer numbers seem to have been cut in half, and I don't play it anymore because of that
My brother is in the hospital but as long as pixelated appolo uploads ill always have a smile on my face
Hope he gets better
@@hanzmiedel8342 thanks he’s almost home
Thats great
I noticed the "Connecticut governor's foot guard" this part of the American forces. Fun fact, the unit is still around as a state defense force and used for ceremonial events.
The Muppets Christmas Carol is the best Christmas move ever. I watch it every year over homemade shepherds pie and gravy.
Wow what more could you want to add to the perfect day, christmas with the family spent in good company, and finished off with one of PA'S amazing christmas battle reports, can,t think of a better way to spend Christmas day, thank you buddy for being you😀🎄
The area in germany is pronounced "Hessen" (not like "heshen", you hear the s). If you would call the troops the german way, it would be "hessische Infanterie", but since this is english, it's probably correct to say "hessian infantry". Anyways, fröhliche Weihnachten!
I visited Kassel and stayed with a German family they knew I was into history and showed me a good amount of sites and at the end I got a booklet of Hessian uniforms from the period.
The sound of those volleys is VERY well done. What an awesome mod. The only negative I can point out is the lack in diversity of troops' faces lol
MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!!! Been watching you for around those 10 years you mentioned. Fell in love with the Medieval 2 vids vanilla or LoTR and the rest of these videos you make. Hope you got all you asked for.
Ha you are spot on a.... a Muppet Christmas Carol is so good LOL... another great video as always, merry Christmas!
Every year, my family and I always watch all the lord of the rings movies between christmas and the new year
Merry Christmas y’all! And also love to see Trent covering the battle of Trenton 😅
Nice to see the hessians :) merry christmas apollo, and greetings from hesse!
Merry Christmas from Spain!! Its a surprise how many nations hated the British Empire and helped the Americans in their revolution 😂😂
We the Spanish also participates in the war, we declares war to UK at 1779 and supported Americans during all the war. Bernardo de Galvez and Luis de Unazaga supported the army of Charles Lee while they secured the Mississippi from the english to guarentee the supplies and commerce. We also sent huge amount of money and weapons to the American militias and we fought the British in Ohio, Lousiana, Florida, Gibraltar and the Caribe and Atlantic. In addition, the Comissioner Francisco de Saavedra supoorted with his troops the Americans and French troops in the siege of Yorktown sending a fleet and money.
Personally, I think the American Revolution its like a protoype of World War because all the nationes they were involved😂
Seven years war is probably the most closest for a proto world war.
On a long drive after Christmas and I had your video playing as background noise but I was totally vibing to you talking about just random stuff at the start completely forgot about the battle
Out of nowhere there’s just a cannon that goes off
Merry Christmas Everyone!
Thanks for the great video Apollo! I hope you and your family have a fantastic Christmas!
In my family, we used to have a pickle tree ornament and my parents would hide it in the tree somewhere. Whichever kid finds it first would get to open the first gift.
it feels so weird that pixie has been on youtube almost longer than ive been alive and he hasnt even reached 1 million subs. THIS WILL BE THE YEAR YOU REACH 1 MILL PIXIE!

Nothing beats a Pixelated Apollo battle with a good ol’ cup of tea - merry Christmas and a happy new years to all!!
Been here since for about 11 years or so!
For anyone interested, A&E made a TV-movie years ago in 2000 called "The Crossing," which is about the crossing of the Delaware and subsequent Battle of Trenton. It's not the greatest war film ever made, but honestly it's the best Revolutionary War media out there in my opinion. Sure, it doesn't look as cinematically pleasing as "The Patriot" or "Turn: Washington's Spies," but as far as I can tell it's eons more historically accurate and even dispels the myth that the Americans attacked on Christmas day (sorry to burst bubbles). In reality Washington started his troops across the Delaware on the night of the 25th, but they did not reach Trenton until the morning after Christmas. One could still argue they interrupted the Hessian garrison's holiday celebrations, however, because many of them were still hung over or sleeping in late from the night's festivities. Somebody uploaded the full movie to UA-cam. As far as I am aware it's still up.
The Netflix Christmas Carol is dope as well
Keep making videos like this I love your videos so much

Merry Christmas i just watched a day later
Let’s go Christmas!!!!!!!🎉🎉
There were 0 casualties and 0 injuries for americans that day
I was so mad when my cav died at the beginning of this battle. I was the player with the most kills and commanded Washington. Each team only had one marshal and Washington is the marshal for the Americans.
Whats the game name? And can I play it on my computer?
Merry(belated) Xmas from the 59th!
i am a direct descendant of james h. sherburn the leader of the rhode island militia and led the bayonet charge across a froen river at trenton.
I actually live in the town of Pulaski,WI which was named after him
Epic also merry Christmas pixie poo
I know dat it is not Christmas Day anymore. Bu t Me and my family would always prepare dinner in Christmas Eve and eat together. its always a blessing period to spend time with family
This would be a surprise if you had released a banner lord game play and making your own kingdom
They could be playing Yankee Doodle to taunt the Americans
Merry Christmas pixie
Thanks Apollo. Merry Christmas.
I have an ancestor who crossed the Delaware with washington
300 likes 💪, in 2 hours, love the content keep it up
Ah yes, not to be confused with the Battle of Trenton fought in 1776 BC.
True born and raised in Trenton New Jersey
Merry Christmas 🎅 🎄
General Washington looks like an accountant or barkeeper, anything but a general lol
What a great Christmas surprise.
The American Player should've used the early engage to push troops on he flank and start attacking on the side Flank. I know the other player would've been looking there out of surprise and The American player should've taken that advantage to cross the Lancers into the militia and weakened lined to cause a mass rout that the American player could've used to push into Trenton WAY EARLIER. By the time the British player would've come back to the chaos in the initial battle, The American could support the Flank battle and pushed into Trenton (surrounding the 2 lines of infantry on guard). They had a MASSIVE numbers advantage and guns kill regardless sooooo... I believe the way it actually played out to was that General John Cadwalader attacked the British garrison at Bordentown, New Jersey to prevent reinforcements from the south. General James Ewing led 700 militiamen across the river at Trenton Ferry, captured the bridge over Assunpink Creek, and prevented the enemy's soldiers from escaping and the reinforcements from advancing. Thus George Washington had a basic Hammer Anvil Attack on the British Garrison.
A good og classic
Filthy animals? I thought we were Knights of Apollo?
interesting I never new us germans played a part in this. I dont know much about this time period to be fair more of a ww2 buff
