As the Goudiao Rings by Jolin Jiang | Playing An Ancient Bell 2000+ Years Old of the Yue 越 Culture

This piece is a result of my in-depth study and field trip on the instrument Goudiao. During my Masters research study at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, I came across an ancient bell that originated from the Wu and Yue vassal states during the Eastern Zhou Dynasty, 2700 years ago. I had the opportunity to play its exact replica at the Museum of Chinese National Music in Wuxi, China, in August, accompanied by the musical archaeologist Dr Zhu Guowei 朱国伟教授.
