This American was in Nottingham about eight years ago. I got to visit the castle and that old pub that you showed. It was a great city and I enjoyed my visit very much. Thanks for all these nice pictures of a place I remember fondly. I love your country and I want to go back as soon as possible. Very much enjoy this video.
Such a joy to see up to date cruising again and river cruising at that. Lovely views, all the water fowl, signs of spring and Trent bridge was so ornate. Thank you for another great vlog. Cheers from Florida. 🌴🌴🌴
Great to hear you mention Newcastle, a great city, lovely people, nice Geordie people. Oh, did i not tell you that i live in Newcastle. Yet another fantastic video 👍🏻😊
I can't believe it. I worked at that pub with the boat yard fitting out the narrowboat Tinkers leen that you went past and it's still there from the 80s. Wow what memories. Great vlog.
That was just a super Vlog and to see the Cormorants drying their wings outstretched in that typical Cormorant way was just lovely. I don't want to give Michael a big head but I just love his almost slow motion but deliberate walk when has to get off the boat to help Jo with the locks. Thanks, guys for that super Vlog.
Thank you. Yes the cormorants are wonderful to watch. We have seen them fishing so much in recent days but haven’t really managed to catch them in video.
Really enjoyed that trip under the bridge. Haven't been under there in a very long time and it brought back lovely memories. My dad used to take us fishing from my uncles boat on the Trent. Some parts of Nottingham are best seen by water. Stay safe and well.
Thanks for showing us things like the rope roller. I have watched many hours of narrow boat videos and I had only ever seen rope erosion on the corners of the bridges, never new there was such a think as rollers, but that makes complete sense.
Great relaxing vlog this week, thoroughly enjoyed it, it really is a sign of Spring when you see boats nesting in the trees and up the banks! I haven't seen that for a few years.
Thanks for another amazing trip......the river scenery was stunning and the Trent Bridge was incredible (very steampunk). So glad Jo was able to solo on a river. Best wishes from Toronto 🇨🇦
Lovely river cruising this week. Good to see signs of your springtime and those swans are gorgeous. Lots of building and construction along the way. Thanks for sharing and safe travels to you both during the last of your long Lockdown.
Another enjoyable video. It helps to have a radio when on the river Trent so you can radio ahead to the lock keepers and they prepare the lock for you. Also, it was good to see you in Newark.
Happy memories of drinking in the 'Trip' and the Navigation when I lived and worked in Nottingham. Your vlog did the place justice. It's a lovely city. Thank you 🙏
Fresh, not frozen! 😎 Sorry, couldn't resist. Congratulations on being an official river pilot, Jo. I hope this means an upgrade in pay as well. Good to see you out and on the move again. Hope everyone stays reasonably smart and you (and the rest of us) don't have to go through all this next year.
So, refreshing to see the wildlife along the river banks and also Georgie, showing his appreciation... wanting only one taste of a duck or two.... excellent raise in my day... lovely weather.
Another gem of a vlog - many thanks. Glad to see you both have survived your lockdown with your sense of humour intact! Newcastle?! George looked worried and quizzical - he was wondering where the chocolate cake disappeared to... Give him a pat from me please. All the best.
Our wolfhounds have 'paw purses' and they occasionally get a rock in one. Can wear the flesh a bit inside and they limp, but there is nothing visible. Could be that. We've found all manner of rocks and twigs in their purses at time.
