Mark is my favorite poet musician by a country mile. I wish I could have seen him in concert before he passed. Pray for the ones he left behind. Wonderful, wonderful video interpretation. It gave me chills.
St Mark Heard is simply the greatest of the greats for in the Kingdom of Heaven the last shall be the first, the lowest shall be the highest, the least listened to will be most heard (pardon the pun). I love Mark Heard with all my heart, His words are Gods grace to me. Pray for me from Heaven "good and faithful servant".
Excellent job! I saw Mark live in St. John, NB around 1984. It was an awesome show. He was the best! I miss him terribly. We need to keep his legacy alive.
(A) one of the finest of Mark's songs. Hard to pick a "BEST", but this one is definitely up there. (B) I had no idea that the OP of this video was family to Peirce Pettis... only making this video all the more touching. Thanks, Rayvon, for giving us one of the finest Mark Heard videos to have come out in the last decade.
Pierce Pettis said something peculiar to me after first meeting him for the first time. I told him that I found out about him from the Mark Heard tribute cd. He said out of the blue, "Someone needs to us Mark's songs to score a movie." I just got back from seeing a mountain being carved by a family who was carrying on their Father's vision (Crazy Horse) I can see that you have done the same...it was beyond beautiful.
This is a very very good animation and mixed with Mark Heard's song, it is powerful. Have you heard the version by Kevin Smith? He sings this song as well, in memory of Mark Heard. I believe whoever listens to it, will like it as well. If anybody would like to hear it, let me know.
This is a great example of what I miss about Christian Outlaw Artists from 70s and 80s. They really wrote about the faith and doubt experience from personal level. Private Storm and Now I can't find the Door from Sam Phillips are songs I have similar reactions to.

the words of this longing trubador faded in August of 1992. Please Lord, feed us with more banquets of lyrics like his.
thank you for keeping Mark's music and memory alive.

I agree with darnfloor! thank you for this. Mark's music is too important to be forgotten!
The first Mark Heard song I ever heard (although it was Kevin Max's cover). Great song by an awesome songwriter.

Very nicely done. Thanks so much for posting this. Great visual accompaniment to a song that still guts me when I hear it.
Beautiful video -- the animation is haunting and really captures the feeling of the song. Great job!
