21:10. MMT looks like he is about to have a heart attack at the table. Super impressed by Revaz. It takes some serious patience to deal with a guy who is hiding under the table and looking to win on fouls.
Well he had pretty bad covid about a year ago, with the help of his GP he was able to stay off of a hospital, but he said he had pretty bad pneumonia and he felt breathless for like a couple weeks. So it is likely that his cardio is not where it used to be.
Cardio only wins out for you if you can outlast the opponent. It seems in these matches that Revaz was stronger than MMT expected and that might've made Mike work too much in the positioning for his cardio to be useful - along with what everybody else is saying ofc. Though, I'd still say it was very impressive; I doubt very many could stand in that Kingsmove for as long as he did in these matches.

They won't televise it because arm wrestling makes for terrible television. 99% of the match is them either gripping up, arguing, putting on straps, fouls, etc etc. Only 1% is them actually armwrestling. It's way too boring for TV, only serious armwrestling fans would stay tuned in.

All while looking soft compared to every other arm wrestler there, while abusing his bone lock in his elbow, while subtly gloating and trying to act like a big shot, all that straight into a loss against someone who is essentially a rookie, get wrecked.
It was a massive elbow foul in losing position by revaz in round 5 when michael flash pressed him, that should have been a win for mike. That's why replay are needed.

The hands at 26:23 are physically apart while Mike's elbow is firmly on the pad. That doesn't even matter since Revaz should've already lost before that as he pulled his elbow backwards off the pad PRIOR to the slip. Revaz fouls twice while in a losing position before Mike fouls once.
I don't understand the hate against Mike, this is not the WAL, he pulled within the rules keeping his shoulder not below the elbow in a loosing position. He also flashed pin Revaz and wasn't even called.
It's not arm to arm power because he has a bone lock, so he uses that to make him harder to pin. It's cheating. People like Krasi arm wrestle like men.

This is why a crowd is so important in sports. They really can influence matches. I really hope in future armwrestling events can sell out crowds (with screens so everyone can see etc). It would be great for the sport.

Just watching the start of the 2nd match (after strap applied) and neither ref pays attention to how far Revaz's shoulders are turned off square to table. He's literally already 45 degrees turned toward his side, whereas Mike was fairly square. No fault of Revaz's because the refs didn't square him up.
I just dont understand. Todds arm is fully extended. He cant straighten his arm any more. How is that a good position for him against somebody that does a tricep press on a regular basis.

It looked like Revaz’s shoulder passed the “centerline” between the pegs many times during the match. This is a foul according to WAF rule 8.1.2. But perhaps the rules are different for East vs West?
Guys Levan actually had some struggle against Revaz Lutidze back in 2018 ! he was way stronger once, if he comes back he will quickly climb genadi and up towards levans strength area again
The fact that the refs didn't care about revaz shoulder going further than center line is hella suspicious, then not ''seeing'' the flash pin...everytime revaz got a stable flop position was because the pushed his shoulder further than what's legal imo
And also Engin coming to warn michael about the position, but MMT never dipped to a negative. He went sideways, but his shoulder was always above the table. They did NOT want him to win.

That's what i dont like about him... his huge ego. It's so cringe cause so obvious it's all ego. He's good, he strong, he could just live with what he have and be happy about it but he need to prove something so bad. I don't mind the kings move it you actually do something... he just wait there. Playback speed to 0.25x and play at 26:22. You can watch Revaz pull his entire arm off the pad while in a losing position - Mike wins the match here. Understandable to miss this though, it happened very quickly and I had to watch it on replay, but it is clear in slow motion.
To me it looks like MT got very close to pinning him but they slipped and when MT's down pressure suddenly stopped after they came apart Revaz's elbow jumped up, after the slip.

Also in full speed thats a hard call for the refs but I think they did a good job they both saw the elbow fouls. I love all the camera angles but they don't seem to be used properly. A side on shot is PERFECT for ready go but for replays seeing side on or pad cameras would be awesome. Rather than randomly switching between mid round.

Because he has a bone lock in his arm, so he can sit there, preventing the pin using minimal effort, trying to get the other guy tired so that he can actually stand a chance at pinning him.

Engin said that there will be a slow motion replay every round. Refs can use that footage next time if a participant contest the call for a fair decision and not just rely on what they saw in an a very fast instant move..

Give both a watch if you haven't already. Mike is a really bad matchup for Dave and most people in the community know that. Dave doesn't have the tools and adaptability to deal with Mike's kings move. I don't see this result changing

This match looks close. Michael actually got lucky in round 4th with that flash press got caught. But he looks phenomenal in 1st round, he stonewalled Revaz in 1st round.

Then he took 2 to 3 minute breathers after committing a foul 3 times. Not in between rounds either. If a foul is committed, then they get right back to pulling! Not give the fat outta shape guy more time to recover! So he gets away with all this cuz he's Georgian but, God forbid MMTs angle wasn't perfect after being screwed over 20 times in one damn match. MMT then flash pinned Revaz in the 5th round in accordance to Engin's rules but, again it didn't count and they gave Revaz another opportunity to rest. If you're gonna nit pick the rules, then do it to both competitors. Not just the one you don't want to win!

I watched at 0.1x speed. Mike's elbow did not come off the pad on his first drive in round 5. Could not see Revaz elbow. It also did not look like a pin to me, or its close enough to go either way on the call.
Talking of Rules, Engin shouldn’t be allowed to harass opponents during the break. It’s up to the ref to enforce the rules. Engin should have appealed to the referee if he believed there was a foul. Michael took it well though. They are both good sports.

Just watching the start of the 2nd match (after strap applied) and neither ref pays attention to how far Revaz's shoulders are turned off square to table. He's literally already 45 degrees turned toward his side, whereas Mike was fairly square. No fault of Revaz's because the refs didn't square him up.
I just dont understand. Todds arm is fully extended. He cant straighten his arm any more. How is that a good position for him against somebody that does a tricep press on a regular basis.

It looked like Revaz’s shoulder passed the “centerline” between the pegs many times during the match. This is a foul according to WAF rule 8.1.2. But perhaps the rules are different for East vs West?
East vs West uses a custom ruleset so yeah, I doubt that rule exists as it wasn't even mentioned during the rules discussion gathering.

The fact that the refs didn't care about revaz shoulder going further than center line is hella suspicious, then not ''seeing'' the flash pin...everytime revaz got a stable flop position was because the pushed his shoulder further than what's legal imo

Playback speed to 0.25x and play at 26:22. You can watch Revaz pull his entire arm off the pad while in a losing position - Mike wins the match here. Understandable to miss this though, it happened very quickly and I had to watch it on replay, but it is clear in slow motion.
To me it looks like MT got very close to pinning him but they slipped and when MT's down pressure suddenly stopped after they came apart Revaz's elbow jumped up, after the slip.

Also in full speed thats a hard call for the refs but I think they did a good job they both saw the elbow fouls. I love all the camera angles but they don't seem to be used properly. A side on shot is PERFECT for ready go but for replays seeing side on or pad cameras would be awesome. Rather than randomly switching between mid round.

Because he has a bone lock in his arm, so he can sit there, preventing the pin using minimal effort, trying to get the other guy tired so that he can actually stand a chance at pinning him.

Engin said that there will be a slow motion replay every round. Refs can use that footage next time if a participant contest the call for a fair decision and not just rely on what they saw in an a very fast instant move..

I hate comments like you. this whole full match was full of "todd's" mistakes, he literally opened his hand completely and also faced some situations where his shoulder was too much lowered. 15:07 wth is this? maybe another sport. Engin clearly said that with this king, arm wrestlers can do it but only in a winning position and not when losing, todd agrees with these rules, but he did it anyway on losing position only losing.... and the judges ignored this, this is unprofessional actually part of the judge. Todd didn't even have to make it to the 5th round. Winning position means your hand is on his side of the table, so you win "HAND, HAND!" not your fu**ng shoulder...he's literally zero without his " kings move" not even top 15. kings move? let him do it, the it's is a tactic, there is nothing wrong with that, but what he does in this video is clearly cheating, not kings move and he did it the whole match, it should have been be a 3-1 victory for Revaz
round 4, mmt first is saved by the refs, in what could be called a false start and didnt had to be called, when revaz pinned mmts press easily, after that questionable elbow foul, which could be humerus still on the pad rather then elbow of the pad, so its 1:1 in referees favor to one or another armwrestler

I love you Engin but, Revaz's shoulder crossed the center line multiple times and nobody said anything! You can't argue with a competitor in between rounds! That was not a good look brother. Keep bringing us these great cards champ.

Revaz lifted his elbow off the pad 10 times in the straps and in the middle of refs grip too. Again, it's ok! Then he intentionally loosened the strap multiple times! Then he took 2 to 3 minute breathers after committing a foul 3 times. Not in between rounds either. If a foul is committed, then they get right back to pulling! Not give the fat outta shape guy more time to recover! So he gets away with all this cuz he's Georgian but, God forbid MMTs angle wasn't perfect after being screwed over 20 times in one damn match. MMT then flash pinned Revaz in the 5th round in accordance to Engin's rules but, again it didn't count and they gave Revaz another opportunity to rest. If you're gonna nit pick the rules, then do it to both competitors. Not just the one you don't want to win!

I watched at 0.1x speed. Mike's elbow did not come off the pad on his first drive in round 5. Could not see Revaz elbow. It also did not look like a pin to me, or its close enough to go either way on the call.
Talking of Rules, Engin shouldn’t be allowed to harass opponents during the break. It’s up to the ref to enforce the rules. Engin should have appealed to the referee if he believed there was a foul. Michael took it well though. They are both good sports.
