I was a fledgling ski patroller in 1984. I worked that day in a little ski area in the Rockies. Phil and Steve had a rough time in the giant slalom. That morning someone asked me what I wanted to see from the Olympics that day - the slalom in particular. My answer was the Mahres finishing gold and silver! They didn't say a word , but lead me to the TV where they were playing the recap of the day. What a special moment for those guys and American skiing! Thanks for posting this! Fun times!
