Guy has some serious power, but half those "uppercuts" were hooks. Particularly the first ones (around 1:17) he draws his right elbow back and drops his hand telegraphing a hook or uppercut. I think a D'Amato style of slip and load is better defensively and offensively.
Opening uppercut is a sneaker get in there if set up correctly by watching the person your fighting. But as always Freddy right not a good habit love you mr roach 🙏
Wait, a Title video with Everlast gloves in the background/thumbnail? I bet Title loved that. Could have at least hid all the boxing gear that's not Title for the video.
hmm in my opinion its a low right hook , and not a body uppercut , he misses the power now from his knees like a squad and still turns his hip into the shot ,which is not the way it meant to be for an uppercut
@@Liquidcadmus Exactly. To add, it depends on the situation, the timing, angle etc. There's plenty of fighters who throw an uppercut at some point in their career without setting it up first esp. traditionally with a jab. Andre Ward, Roy Jones, Canelo, of course Mayweather etc. but they don't make a habit out of it.
Ruiz, now that u r at the TOP earning bracket in Heavyweight Professional Boxing - Be WISE!!! n spend alittle money LEARNING!!! from Iron Mike Tyson!!!, as to HOW To execute Deadly Body crippling power punches to the ribs AND the side of the Body, THEN to follow up with Deadly Uppercut punches To floor ur TALLER opponent!
@Future Atlanteans Ruiz's days as a heavyweight champion WILL stop at his rematch against Joshua if Ruiz doesn't refine/perfect POWERFUL body punches AND ACCURATE uppercut punches against his opponents.
I don't think that pivoting your foot has anything in common with blocking or throwing kicks. It might be even better not to do it, because than you're always ready to throw a kick.
Then yet again boxing & mma are 2 different categories. I tried mma for a month and you always have to shift footwork, pivot, change guard, angle etc. While boxing well its more simple but still hard to master.
You mean Freddie? Do you even know that guy? Have you ever heard about, e.g. Manny Pacquaio? Roach was, or better, is his trainer. As far as i'm concerned, Pacquaio is quite a good fighter.
That guys form is clean, could probably rock somebody with the jab.
His name is Justin Fortune. He fought Lenox Lewis .
A shot of anykind would make you think whats important in life
Watch the left hook video. He’d do more than rock you
Freddie Roach is a national boxing treasure. I am so thankful he is still around.
cool poster in the back with Vernon "the Viper" forrests with snakes for gloves! Awesome. R.I.P. Vernon
Freddie Roach is the best!
Angelo Dundee used to teach the four punch combination: left jab, right cross, left hook, right uppercut.
I could watch Justin Fortune hit the bag all day. What a monster. He also trains Frank Grillo
Wow, in kickboxing i learned the extreme increase of impact when raising up on your legs, but in boxing totally different.
You can make a squat like Mike tyson did , absolutely powerful 👏
It's called sitting down it's thrown the same in boxing depending on intent
Justin fortune was a pro heavyweight he fought Lennox Lewis too

Thanks so much for the lesson gents!
Who is this fighter? He has some serious power
He's Justin Fortune. He is a heavyweight boxer and he's also the strength and conditioning coach of Manny Pacquiao.
I hope I look like this hitting the bag. I’ll practice 5 rounds of just one punch. Jab, left hook, upper cut. It’s taking some getting used to.
This guy reminds me of the "rain man" of boxing with his whole deamonor, but he really really knows this stuff! Imo.

Hmmmm im so happy i found this page
The best coach
kinda random but robbie lawler starting to sound like this in his most recent ufc countdown vs nick diaz
Justin Fortune, hits like a mack truck.
True
Doesn't mean shit if your fottwork is not on point. I hit very hard too but i struggle really hard by connecting my punches.
@@hanspeter0007 how is this relevant to him? He's a pro he isnt a chump
@@willcardenas1579 Aha. Do you know where I can watch any fihts of him? I would love to see that myself.

Roy Jones jr HOLD MY BEER .

Subtítulos en español xfa.. gracias
he as some fast fuckin hands
How many ounces are his gloves?
Probably 18oz
Inoe would throw uppercut with no punch before
He too quick to follow usual boxing strategy haha
these are general guidelines, of course each fighter has his own style and methods.

@@ryuj1n.sr208 Not entirely. But sometimes quickness doesn't make you immune especially if you can be timed.

That guy can hit,,wow
nice
So this is the guy behind GSP's jab, shit
Some of the stuff he says i like others kinda contradict what he is doing when he is demonstrating

Don't pivot? Other mma/kickboxing videos say pivot... wierd
lozza925 cuz they don't know shit about boxing
I know, ive noticed that too but I think its because he is training for boxing and doesnt have to worry about throwing kicks or blocking them.

Some people do it to set up kicks somehow
His throwing that upper cut from his waist which can be a huge mistake in a actual bout which you can get counter with a left hook and k.od

Pete....you trying to teach Freddie Roach how to punch is a joke! You can't fight . So why are you pretending u can?
I hope Freddie Roach reads these comments. Maybe he could learn something about boxing from you. 😂
im a little disapointed, i thought Roach would be better
What do u mean? Hes one of the best trainer of all time.
He got sprayed!
Who did you ever train?
I think that guys that never fought might think it’s to simplistic. You’re one of those guy.
Can we get a translator up in here? Maybe just like transcribe what Freddie is saying and do a video? Idk...
Freddie has Parkinson's bro
