A little known fact about Cosby. My ex was a sound engineer at CBS and before he started his show, he noticed there weren't any Black cameramen (my ex came from Motown in Detroit that's why he was there as a soundman). So Cosby made sure that at least 5 Black men became cameramen from the usher pool. Unfortunately, there weren't women ushers at that time at CBS or they would have been recruited too. One of those guys became very active in the union there and moved up in ranks and made sure that that process of hiring and training Black's for those types of positions continued. Cosby started a movement, and it was not televised! Asé ❤

He's speaking as a person of his time. People didn't make that distinction as clearly then between HIV and AIDS. Educating the public and the youth was becoming a thing. The average "old head" in the street did not know the difference. They linked one with the other because HIV generally led to AIDS because there was no cure and medicines were just coming out to the public as Magic was diagnosed. Most HIV led to AIDS within a few years that led to death, so he said, "They told Magic he had AIDS," because he's old and everyone thought they were the same because people got this illness and died horribly afterwards. The average person did not realize that there are stages where treatment is still an option, with the most viral stage being AIDS, because there were no treatments, no knew they were looking at stages of a virus, they just knew you get this thing and you die.
Didn't matter at that time it was considered a "death sentence"! Go back and see how many people survived HIV. It always turned into AIDS at that time!

2 Different eras when Cosby wanted to buy NBC, BET was only a few years young and Johnson was just starting. Not to mention NBC is NBC, it carries national weight.

I am a 77 yr old white guy from Oklahoma and I never believed that Bill Cosby was guilty. I thought when he was preaching personal responsibility to his people that the powers that be were gonna get him. The powers that be want and need the black community to be in turmoil. I still think Doctor Cosby was railroaded.
I’ve never seen anyone that can say what he’s guilty of what he was being accused off and logically say that all those accusations all of them all had the exact same response.

Please understand, when a lot of these men, especially back in the day, needed a trusted advisor in the room, the best way to do that was by designating them as their “bodyguard”. People in power are notoriously loose lipped around “the help”. I imagine successful black peoples in these circles took advantage of that by placing people they trust in positions where they could hear and observe without drawing suspicions. I bet him and other “bodyguards” have a lot of stories to tell.

True black kids become less interested in baseball after middle school. They want the flashier sport like football or basketball. But also when black young men play on a high school baseball team they receive a lot of racism from the coaches to their own teammates because it’s usually not many of us on the teams. “they” still think it’s their sport and of course they want it to remain that way.

What was said is certainly true about baseball and Black players. The last time I really watched baseball was wh n Granderson played for the Mets. My son went to get a Granderson jersey here in NYC and couldn't find any. And Granderson put in work on the Meta however he was heavily downplayed by the ream and announcers. I left baseball alone. My cousin is a devout Yankees fan however I gave the Yankees up in the early 80s. Magic made his ownership endeavor's after retirement. He has often said he learned Business from Laker owner Jennie Buss's father. The late Dr. Jerry Buss.

When the 1990s hit Richard was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis and he permanently ended up in a wheelchair. Richard admit he spent a great deal of time loocked in a room getting high, for days at a time. We loved Richard, but he wasnt doing all of this Hollywood Baller Wheeling and dealing. And Hollywood didnt shut Richard down. His addiction limited him. Truth is Hollywood chased Richard, he was pure talent and they knew it. And we, his peoole knew it too.
