I totally agree with you. I’ve just received my nespresso citiz and the first thing I did was try a short measure and a long one for comparison and found the long shot tasted watery.
Nespresso needs to develop a capsule for the standard machines that hold more coffee. Can’t understand why they don’t do that. Now, if you want a double you really need to use two capsules. That adds up $$$$.
Nespresso have loads of copies after dualit were taken to court by Nescafé and Nescafé lost so it’s cheaper to buy two copies than Nescafé stuff the dualit do loads and all are 100percent arabica.. loads more made by Amazon Asda Tesco etc

I have an Aldi K Fee machine. Makes great coffee. I used to pull a long shot but now I do a short shot. I'm curious though: Aldi's pods are bigger than Nespresso pods. On the pack it says they can be used for espresso or lungo. Can I pull a longer shot or do you recommend sticking with a short shot? Great videos btw. You're very knowledgeable.
whats the difference between pulling a lungo on 1 pod vs using a short pull on 1 pod then adding hot water for Americano. essentially both dilute the espresso except the lungo pass the extra 80ml of hot water through the "old" powder in the pod, while the 40ml of espesso + 80ml of hot water is added later with out passing through the pod and powder. Wonder if it will taste any difference
Hi Tse Hong Ling, Great question! The short shot extracts all the best elements of the coffee (oils, aroma and flavour) and extracting more can actually ruin a good coffee. As the water passes through the left over coffee grinds in the pod this can ruin the flavour rather then just adding in extra hot water. We haven’t ground the coffee to suit lungo. For this the coffee needs to be ground more course to allow the water to flow through more quickly. Hope this helps. 😊☕ - Camille

Thank you … I have bean (lol) doing it wrong for two years years or more my coffee machine died and I got a new one and carried on the same way with new machine however on the long shot it sent 200 mils of water so o returned the machine and the new one had the same fault so I sent that back the same day I found this video. Turns out it would have done .I have just spent more money than I needed too the first company Lakeland (uk) gives three year warranty and they honour it I try buy all my stuff from them on their 20% offers….. I tried what you say I drink coffee mainly black so from now on small 35mil ish shot topped off with water much nicer than longo I’ve been doing .. sorry for the life story
My new yesterday machine isn’t giving much creama it’s a dualit they are sending me their pods about 20p each some samples I can see me getting another machine even the one with the 200mil big shot that I won’t ever be using
Hey there, Definitely not wasting the pod! All the best flavours and aromas are extracted in the first 40mls. Anything more than a short shot will just be extracting dirty, bitter water : ) - Brenda
Hi! Should I be leaving the machine on all the time in standby mode? Or should I be turning it off from the rocker switch completely after every use (probably only using once a day in the mornings)

I have the Nespresso Delongi mini pod machine, I’ve tried the short and the long shot but both end up being so weak it’s like drinking hot milk with a dirty water taste :’( I like strongish coffee, is it the pods I’m buying? I have no idea I’ve tried several

The Nespresso Vertuo pod machine does that. I think there's like 4 or 5 different sizes :)

I have the Pixie and pull my shot for 6 seconds. It tastes godd but am I wasting coffee?

Two short shot equal double and 1 short for cuppaccino.. He means long shot sucks, I think he 100percent correct
The smaller shots get cold too quick. Within a minute it's ready to drink, this is without milk.
