  • Six Flags Great Escape opened their new family wooden coaster Bobcat on June 1st 2024
I accidentally gatecrashed the opening day as this lined up with my USA road trip vacation, which meant I was treated to all the usual opening day fun, slightly longer waits, the teething troubles, celebratory balloon arches and free plushies!
What’s bobcat actually like to ride?
Is it a good fit for Six Flags Great Escape?
Is it enough to put the park on the map, when you’re planning a USA road trip?
In this video I’ll go over my thoughts and feelings from Bobcat’s opening day.
What do you think of Bobcat at Six Flags Great Escape? Would you like to ride?

It is incredible in the back row, for such a short train it gives incredible rides.

In today's market of hybrids with inversions, I feel this is the perfect form for true woodies nowadays. Small, with airtime and presumably quite easy to maintain. It's also funny how often 55ft/17m seems to be the right height for a compact coaster, whether wood or steel.
