HANOI TO NINH BINH: A DAY TRIP

In this province of Ninh Binh you will find Hoa Lu, the capital of Vietnam from 968 A.D. to 1009. This ancient city is protected by inner and outer citadels with defensive walls. It has palaces, courtyards, temples and shrines enveloped by limestone mountains that defended them from Chinese invaders. The rivers and the lake, on the other hand, served as trade routes.
