Hi Noah - thanks for this video. I made a pair of kneeling pads based on this yesterday by glueing up two pieces of foam from a swimmers floatation block, cutting that to shape and glueing those pads onto a garden kneeling mat cut into a rectangular shape. Will look forward to my next canoe outing to try this out. Enjoying the videos!
Geez, I've been using a Therm-a-rest pad for my knees all these years... had no idea anything else existed. Thanks Noah 👍 BTW, does anyone else bump their head on the canoe floor when they are portaging?? Gosh, I wonder if Mike Yee makes a pad for that!
Nice pads. Did you buy or made them? I cut up a yoga mat and rolled it up to the approximate shape of your pads. I used velcro sheets just because i’m not quite sure where i’d like my knees for extended periods.
You maybe should have mentioned to use closed cell foam so it doesn't get all wet and mushy? A second coat of glue is a good idea for certain foams too. Sometimes it soaks in too much.
I’m outfitting a new (to me) canoe and am looking for deep, beefy knee pads like you installed in the rear of your boat. I can find wimpy, shallow ones, but I want ones that I can really lean into. Q: Where did you get yours?
The pad design is based on where they're fixed on the canoe. The bow location is a little more on the sidewalls so if you were to have a double ridge design, it would be an awkward fit for the bow guys knees
Thanks for watching! Let us know if there are other "How To" videos you would be interested in seeing.
Thank You for supporting Home Hardware, i work at one in Ontario :) . Question, where do you pick up those knee pads?
@@markscheerer1282 Check the video description. $23.95 Can. for the single-sided pair. $30.95 Can. for the double-sided pair.
@@PaulSchortemeyer never thought to look there 🙃
@@PaulSchortemeyer Hi! I looked at your amazon link, but couldn't find the link for the knee pads... where should I look? Thanks Lainy
@@twobehappy67 I think this might be the link: mikeyeeoutfitting.com/catalog-items/knee-cups.html
A video running through your rod/reel, line and tackle choices for different fish species would be cool.

Knee pads, great idea...nice job Noah👍
Thank you! I realized I was holding breath while you rolled the pad onto its spot.
Great DIY video.
Keep those videos coming.
Cheers.
Thanks for the good DIY guide.

Thanks for this, Noah! I would like to know how you added rubber to your handles!
The rubber is a cut garden hose

What’s the measured distance between the bottom of your seat and the bottom of the boat ?

details are in the description
Not finding the details
Now, all I need is canoe.
Why do you have different pads for the stern and bow?
