    I'm amazed how some people still cannot accept the fact that to learn how to truly fight, you must train with an uncooperative opponent.

    • @williamdowling7718
      @williamdowling7718 18 днів тому +2

      Yea but it's way easier if your opponent cooperates and just lets you throw them around. You're just trying to make it harder for no reason. 😂
      Jk. Of course.

    I think some of the best fighters that ever lived probably never bullied people or even got in any fights in their lives. It's always the big talkers who get humbled by the silent types.

    • @DrMinimal
      @DrMinimal 12 днів тому

      most of us were bullied, thats the reason I got into training, since 2012. and now I have a group of younger and some older guys that I train and the n1 rule of the gym is that if u engage or provoke a fight outside of the gym, u are banned for life. People dont realise that this is a sport, and not a tool to put fear in other people outside. also people dont realise how powerfull mma fighters are and what kind of person u even have to be to train that sport...a lot of them say they are crazy and thats the reason they would win, and they forget I like to take punches in my head and smile at the opponnent with my tounge out...usually u can humble them if u challenge them to take 1 low kick at 50% power...they fall as hard as a tree and wonder how that hurts even if they are bodybuilders xd stay humble, keep training and be disciplined, u have nothing to prove to others unless its a contest

    They arent fake masters, they are just masters of arts that dont actually work for a real fight.

    I was a bar bouncer for years, had a lot of guys try to impress me with their martial arts skill, I'd always let them take the first swing, some actually connected, but quickly learned their strikes aren't very effective against a real fighter. I never learned any martial stuff, I'm basically a street fighter, I naturally combined many things I learned over time. MMA wasn't invented until decades after I moved on to other things. But what really sunk most martial arts guys was they tended to drop into a stance, or do a kata, you might as well phone in our next move, cause while your doing that, I'm slapping the dog stuff out of you. Never strike with a closed fist, your hand in delicate, Karate in called open hand for a reason, and getting slapped into submission is rather embarrassing to the recipient

      as an mma fighter since 2012 and a bouncer, I would like to invite u to my gym to see that slapping and to show u how closed fist guard works when someone is trained. also MMA is a combination of combat sports (wrestling, grappling, bjj, muay thai, kickboxing, boxing, sambo etc..), and we train all of them...i bet u wouldnt last a 5 minute grappling session, let alone a full on kickboxing sparing :) stay humble my friend...also UFC is here since 1993, Pride FC (more HC) since 1997...unless u are 100+ years old, boxing and sambo and wrestling were around much longer, I doubt u never got humbled by a real fighter

    The key to most mixed martial arts fights is to get your opponent out of their style. Hence, if someone only knows certain types of, for lack of a better term, 'on their feet fighting', then someone who has trained in wrestling or various ground forms brings their opponent to the ground and dominates. Conversely, if you have someone who only has a ground game (which we've seen in some MMA fights), they try and use every opportunity to get to the ground, but if you can't force your opponent down, you are at a severe disadvantage as their strikes weaken you.
    If you are taking a martial art to learn defense, go to some form of karate or boxing to learn footwork and striking, then some Br JuJitSu for ground work and Aikido for rolls and balance. Work and practice your fundamentals until they become second nature. Then try sparing/attending an MMA gym/sessions and work on combining all that into something that works together.

    Some of these martial “artists” need to put their paintbrushes and crayons down and pick up some loves and fight training! I saw one of those “no hit masters” (where they throw their energy, chia pet, jedi force, or whatever) get in the ring and he got hit so many times in 3 seconds HE started throwing punches! So much for a “no hit master”! He QUICKLY decided he was more of a puncher after being the punchee for a couple of seconds. He was KO’ed a few seconds in! 😂😂😂😂 *EDIT* Ahhhh you got one on those “no touch masters” @ 9:08 . Just got to that part! I hope you have more! 😂😂😂

    I've always been the big guy in the small city I live in. At school, I was head and shoulders above most, and I've never bullied anyone. In fact, I had always been the one bullied. I guess if a smaller guy knocks the big dude on his ass, he looks pretty formidable after that. I'd rather be friends with everyone, but that never happened.
    I've copped some big hits to the head and have never been knocked out, so I have a coconut for a head. But I hate that fact. Back in the late 80's, early 90's, I'd go to the nightclubs and walk home to sober up. So many times, I'd come across 5 or more dudes that just wanted to beat the shit out of someone, and because I was stupid enough to be walking by myself in the early hours, I was that guy. Man, I wish I had a glass jaw! I'd see boots swinging at my face while on the ground, feel the impact of every stomp to the ribs or legs. It really sucked I wasn't out cold. Yeah, at first I tried to fight my way out of it but learned it led to a bigger flogging, so I just copped it after that. But I have no delusions about whether or not I can fight, I can't. Not against guys that have trained. The ducking and weaving made it impossible to land a clean punch.
    So in my 52 years on this planet, I've learnt a few things. 1. The guy who was talking less if at all when I came across those guys walking home, he punched the hardest and hurt me the most. 2. For a small guy, knocking out a big dude is a much sort after trophy, even if the big guy can't fight. 3. Not even trying to defend yourself leads to much less pain. Unless, of course, you are fighting against more than just a good flogging, Eg, they want to kill you or it's a bunch of gay dudes that will rape you once you're down for the count. *That last one warrants "defence by any means necessary." 4. If a smaller guy or anyone hits you and it doesn't affect you, just walk away. 5. Body shots hurt way more and for way longer than head shots and 6. I've seen guys walk around with their chest out, trying to intimidate people, pushing their weight around. If you can't fight, there is always someone willing to take you up on the offer to go outside and punch it out. More often than not, the bullies get what they deserve. Just don't do it. All you have to do is respect others, not put yourself in shitty situations, be a decent person, and you will be left alone.
