I came here because of the tractor😂 Nice story about your dad Gary, yours and mine were cut from the same cloth. Thanks for mentioning my dad, and you have a great memory he is 96 and wants to make another UA-cam video about one of his memories. Your pickaroon flinging reminded me of my dad flinging his as a big pine I was cutting down started falling in his direction. He flung the pickaroon he was holding and ran like heck only stopping when the pine fell right on our JD 2030.....yeah the tree was not supposed to fall that way 😂 Thanks again Gary
I think your dad would have cracked up laughing when the picker went flying 😳, I know I did 😂😂😂, cool add-on for the splitter 👍🏻. Have a great one Gary 🙂👍🏻🙋🏼♂️
Good evening Sir, that is a great wood splitter that you have 💪👌👍😉 Great modification 👍😉💪 Great JD antique tractor 😉👍👌 That is a great story about you and your dad Sir and I will check that channel 😉👍 You are very good doctors 😇🤣👌👍 Great fun demo 🤣👌 Full watch Sir Cheers 🍻👍😉
Nice arsenal!! Still looks like it is a lot of work! That's great that your dad is still out getting it done!!! Great shout out too!! Love when Steve has his dad on video! Hindsight, I should have started making videos a few years earlier, I'm sure everyone would have loved to see him... November 30th would have been his 82nd birthday........😪
@@tractortalkwithgary1271 yes sir, I know all too well. Butted heads for years..... I only saw my dad cry once, the day grandpa died.. I didn't have time to think about crying when dad died, but you know, there are days the allergies sneak up.. and June 26 and November 30, are guaranteed to bring out the allergies.
Finally got here. That was a impressive toss. I never noticed I had crappy signal in Clinton. I knew I wouldn't have any in DeWitt so I stopped here. Thanks Gary.
Our internet gets worse and worse. I tries for 2 nights to get this video loaded. It was loading for over 9 hours and was up to 29%. Took almost 3 hours last night to finish loading. thanks for watching Bryce. Safe travels. Watch out for the maniacs.
Now that is some Olympic level pickaroon flingin' Gary! Thanks for telling us the story about your dad, that was really nice. Your boom mod looks like a great idea for the big ones. That's smart! Thanks for sharing, buddy.
Great video, thanks. I like the modifications to the splitter, it looks like it makes a huge difference. My granddad is 93 and very fit, I think keeping active keeps him going
How's she goin'? That's a nice splitter Gary!! Nice set up too for the vertical operation. That pickaroon works great, but you spend a lot of time chasing after it I bet!!! LOL Thanks for the story too and take care!!!
I've never tried one of those hookaroons - looks like it works good! Nice job updating the Husky 22 ton splitter. I've put many hours on that same splitter model at my parent's place.
Hey, your dad said the right words. I'm getting too old for this sh*t. Love the splitter setup, G. I guess once you get a good rythm going, the wood gets split lickity-split (pun intended). I havent' split wood in years since we now have a gas firplace. I give a lot of downed trees to several Marine Corps retiree friends. I give all the pine rounds away to one friend who always burns them in his outdoor firepit. We'll shoot the garbage while the fire's crackling and the cans of beer are still cold and bubbly. Enjoyed the flinging pickaroon trick, G. 👍🏽🙂
Love the John Deere! I have a Wallenstein Pro splitter that has been great so far, It has a Honda motor, and the splitter is made in my province of Ontario Canada which was the selling point for me. I like all the things that you did to yours. Those tongs work very well! I should get one of those Hookaroons, they are pretty neat. Thanks for sharing and the stories
Hi Gary! Those are impressive and clever mods on your splitter! Seems to have no trouble pushing right through those big rounds. You can throw a pickaroon with the best of them! Have you considered competitive pickaroon throwing? Thanks for sharing!
My apologies my friend, the checking of the eyelids caught up with me about halfway through lastnight🤦🤦 Man those are some awesome upgrades to your splitter!! Amazing story about your dad Mr Gary, they don't make them like that anymore, I hope I can get within 20 years of that age and still be going!! Wow that sticker/Stihl tool is amazing!!! 😂😂😆😆🤦🤦 Laughed so hard when you missed and it went sailing, that's a Nelson move right there!! Mr Steve is amazing, scholar gentleman he is!! Loved his interview with his dad also!! Thank you for bringing us along, look fwd to more my friend !!😁👍

I sure miss my Dad. we got to be pretty close later on in life. We were 2 bulls in the same pasture when we farmed together.

Great looking pickeroon. I have the same one but in blue. Great story about your dad. That generation was so tough. I miss those old guys.
Me too. Not many of those models left. They saw a whole bunch of change in their lifespan. From farming with horses to self driving tractors.
Having that crane makes the job go a lot easier. Nice toss! Have a safe and warm winter, Later
Glad you enjoyed it. Thanks for watching. Do you have snow there yet?
It just started to snow as I’m typing this Friday. And guess what we lost Electricityso I get to use my generator oh boy. Later
@@ItsaboutMakingnotBuying Good thing that you have it. Later
Evening Mr Gary
Hi Nelson
Cool video! I need to make my own hookaroon. Maybe I'll build it out of a boomerang just in case I throw it like you did...
I don't want any part of that thing coming back to me. I will gladly walk over to pick it up instead.
@@tractortalkwithgary1271 LOL
Some handy modifications
Great video, good job 👍👏thanks for sharing.

Thanks David. For the really big ones, the boom is the way to go. Let the mechanical advantage take care of the heavy lifting.
Good pickeroon chucking good distance good form I give 8/10 😂😂 I made mine(2) outta a couple old axes Haven’t chucked it like you did though lol😊😊
I almost didn’t leave that part n the video. Glad I did. It has been a good source of entertainment for some. It was rather funny🤣🤣🤣

The old guys were tough as nails. My dad was 91 , a mechanic . Worked everyday and took care of a invalid wife. all with one arm .
How cool. Thanks for sharing
You are a Clown 🤡🤣
Big Logs there
I am gonna have to get me one of those Pics
Looks handy !
Thanks for sharing
They sure save on the back.
You need a platform on the ground so that the round stays up against the splitter with out any effort
