Outstanding! I wish more of our great classic rock artists would do this with iconic albums. Steve Winwood did something similar with Traffic songs and some solo stuff. It really is refreshing to hear these great songs with the nuance gained in playing them for 50 years.

I think it's Gretchen Rhodes who toured as part of The Dave Mason Band a few years ago. She's amazing!
It could be Gretchen, but it also sounds very much like Bekka Bramlett. She's a spitting image of her mother and sounds just like her.

The original Alone Together was recorded in '69, released in '70 to critical acclaim and was/is very successful. Alone Together Again was also recorded by Dave Mason, but 50 years later.
songs are the same ,the interpretation is different. Kind of like with classical music , where people will seek out different conductors and orchestras to hear slightly different interpretations of the same material. because of their interest in the well known and loved music.
Also the original tapes were lost in a famous tape repository fire, so all the remastering and re releasing now being done with popular albums of the past was not available, so a more mature talent just re-recorded the same album, but done as he preforms the material today. There is a demand for the old album, a sonic masterwork, but clean copies are very hard to find. This work gives the opportunity to hear the songs without the sound of trashed out used vinyl in the background and diminished sonics from wear.
