- You really don't know how good your horsemanship is until you go to a show. Without that outside prospective, you don't know what you don't know.

I remember the first time I took my horse to her first halter class show just to get her some exposure and we ended up placing 4th place in our first ever show. Phoenix had absolutely no show exposure whatsoever and we went with no expectations. I was on cloud nine for weeks after. I was that proud of my horse. She’s always going to be my champion. ❤️
Good morning all. Wow that was great Tim, taking the time to follow up on your clink. and the ladies done well coming on the show Thank you Tim & Melinda for video.😃😇
Absolutely agree
In the past I've been anti-showing. I thought it didn't do any good and was full of snooty people. I've started ranch riding with my 2 year old and I've found that she is 10x better than my seasoned trail horses. Everyone has been so kind there and encouraging and I'm really enjoying it.
Great to see ladies who are more than middle age, like myself, and hear their enthusiasm for riding and see them gaining confidence as they do it. You all inspire me to keep riding!
Look at those smiles! 3 happy ladies ! Great video!
I got interested in obstacles then discovered Extreme Cowboy Racing. In order to be able to ride these events I had to learn how to really ride a horse. So I started taking lessons … this was about 8 years ago. I then started attending Ranch horse shows to work on transitions and get the arena experience. Yes I totally agree showing helps you grow in horsemanship. It’s certainly a never ending journey.
Editing to add… I still take lessons and attend clinics to continue to grow and learn.
It’s wonderful to hear how these 3 ladies put their horses’ relaxation first, and about having fun , not about winning.
Sounds like they did pretty well!
I wish we had shows like this in UK.
I know my horse and I would enjoy it .
Maybe Le Trevor or Working Equitation is the closest thing
Thank you ladies for being so open and having fun instead of looking for prize thank you ❤ 😊
Such fun to listen to this interview! Thank you for sharing.
Very smart of those ladies to stop on a good note! The first part of video, they talked about how rough people are with their horses and I see this even with Pros and it's so sad. Who wants to pay $20K+ for an allegedly 'finished' horse that you have to be rough with to get it to perform? I'm pretty much of the opinion that most horses need to be retrained to better standards after purchase. Gotta save those $$$ to get Mr. Anderson to help with that!
Big fan. 🎉great topic
Sounds like they had a blast and did welt boot! Great job ladies!!
This was fun. Congratulations, ladies!
Great job Lisa and friends. We audited the Saturday of that clinic, very helpful i
❤❤❤
This is great video. Thank you!
What fun!! Can we get updates on these lovely ladies?
I did the showing (for 3 years). While I agree that it helped me to improve, it also reached a point where it just wasn't fun anymore because of running into a lot of "eliteism" from people in that world. I still ride 5 days a week, but am more at peace, and definitely enjoy dealing only with my self-motivation. Riding, IMHO, should be about you and your horse, not about how much you spent on the horse or yourself.
Hey , Tim - I have a question regarding sarcoid cysts. Should I take them off my horse with the product that you used on a video 11 months ago?
I removed them from 2 different horses with that product but you might want to consult your vet.
@@timandersonhorsetraining Thank you, Tim. I took your advice. Was told not to worry if they are not causing an issue!
