- Welcome onboard NB isness. A new mooring a new fresh energy and surrounded by incredible scenery and wildlife. I explore and discover the woodland of oak trees and carpets of bluebells that runs along the canal. I explore the peatland, Dane Moss a nature reserve a Peat bog , special site of scientific interest which plays a vital environmental role in absorbing and storing carbon form our atmosphere and managed by Cheshire Wildlife Trust.
The Journey started here... I once lived in the fast lane of life, happily married of 26 years, with two children. That chapter was suddenly shattered by the sudden loss of my wife to cancer, which led me in to depression and homelessness. Waking up in hospital, after attempting to take my own life, with just a suitcase, kayak and bicycle and no money, I've managed to rise up out of the darkness and find happiness and continue my next chapter.
I'm a self taught film maker, and creating these vlogs, it gives me something to do, share my personal experiences as I continue my journey cruising and living life on the canal. Please do consider supporting my channel below... Thank you Dave

The landscapes are beautiful and the flowers are wonderful. I learn about England and these channels, which we don't have in Brazil. The music you put on is in accordance with the landscape and the moment.Everything is so peaceful, so unreal for the world we live in, that I even feel remorse to see such beauty.

There was something quite magical and moving about your vlog today especially walking through the cathedral of trees, very poignant at this moment in time for me. I always find spring "awakens my senses" like a fresh start. The beautiful drone shots over the peat bog were like looking down into moss. Well done for not losing a wellie when you were having to run the gauntlet over the "sookie" bits of the bog. 😊

I have a £100,000 lottery card sitting on my kitchen dresser if it’s a winning ticket I will purchase a narrowboat...a diesel electric hybrid and live rest of my life afloat....well it’s a good dream I’m glad a lucky few have made it their reality 😊

I want to tell you about my sister who just moved to a new home that's situated directly across the street from a state park. She recently found out that there is a gold mine of peat moss. She's not sure about the classification yet but she says it's absolutely amazing and very thick. We can't wait to learn more about it! Thanks for the info in this video. It was perfect timing!

Dave, I love your channel, you always seem to have at topic, or a meditation, that really helps me with things in muy owen life that I'm dealing with. Your camera work is so superb, and so is the beautiful acoustic guitar! (I am a classical pianist, and have a son who is a very talented guitarist) Is that you playing? If not, who makes your beautiful soundtracks? I.d like to share them with my son. Here is at a residential school , for kids on the Autism spectrum, and does not have access to You Tube.

Do you ever get lonely and in need of people.
Not lonely at all. Lots of boating friends and my partner on her own boat. including friendly local towpath users. It can be a lonely life if you listen to the mind and do what the ego tells you to do ☺. I chose to live life in the slow lane its good. Since moving on the boat I've got more friends that I've ever had. It's a good life! 🙏
