As someone who’s grown up with a father who’s done tattoos for 30+ years and a brother who’s done them for the past 10 years, these were some of the worst tattoos I’ve personally seen when it comes to attention to detail and also shadework. It’s extremely hard to pinpoint exact details, especially considering the space and the placement for the tattoo, but quality is the most important and for quality you need a proper space. The Stevie one is absolutely phenomenal, Eric is absolutely stupid for saying the comment about his jawline, because the shadework is immaculate, it had the perfect amount of space and was extremely realistic and sold the emotional aspect. I love the bruins puck for the soul purpose of the depth perspective of it going into his leg, it’s extremely difficult to give that visual. All the others had great potential, but lacked in almost every standpoint and next time choose better quality images.

Why do people have so much trouble using the 10 point scale. 5 is ok, anything lower than 5 is more bad than good, anything about 5 is more good than bad. The ratings for those Kessel tattoos were way too high. Also, I think it woulda been good to have 2 scores, one for tattoo quality, one for the idea of the tattoo. The Kessel riding a hotdog one is hilarious, but holy fuck is the face horrendous. Like to me that's a 3 in execution, but maybe a 7 in concept.
Question for a quiz: The red wings recently broke a record that was untouched since 1948. In the same game they ended their chances to reach an even higher record, in a pretty ironic way. What was the record and how did they end the streak?

I feel like their comments about the Maurice Richard tattoo (aside from Christian’s) don’t take into account the fact that the actual photo of Richard is older. The tattoo is spot on and Jessie’s comments about the detail don’t make sense if you look at the photo and tattoo side by side.

At first glance I thought the Probert tattoo looked like Flea of RHCP. Either way I think it should have received higher marks. The Pavel Bure and Maurice Richard tats also deserved much better ratings. I personally think that the Stevie Y tat looks like shit. It didn’t really do him justice. They tried but needs a lot of work. I couldn’t do any better than any of these artists. I can’t draw to save my life.

The puck tattoo is a 10 for me. Most "tattoo"-like design of all of them. Most creative and incorporates the skin as part of the design.
