Xolo is my fave🖤 I don’t think they look weird, just like a hairless shepherd or dobie. I like that they’re not aggressive. They’re kinda super cute and def unique🖤
@@linziRyan1965xolo isn’t a Spanish word it’s from the Aztec language Nahuatl, and it’s pronounced like “cholo” at least from my understanding please correct me if I am wrong
2 male Xolos in this house! Thank you for this wonderful episode. The majestic Xolo has stolen my heart. The Thai rideback is very beautiful as well. Never zombie like, more like hell hounds IMO
I have 2 Thai Ridgebacks - the biggest downsides are their strong prey drive and not being dog-friendly. Forget about off leash dog parks... Even my best-trained neutered male will totally ignore me when he sees a cat or other animal, and no amount of yelling, leash correction, or tapping him to break his concentration makes the slightest impact. Very territorial, as well. Unfortunately, ours are not well-socialized, so even going to the vet is a daunting experience. They also need a lot of exercise.
I have a Thai male , it's like having a bossy husband ! He trys to tell me what to do and acts like he doesn't hear me ! We argue all day , because he trys to talk ! He has mastered a sound that sounds like, " I love you ". People trip out when they hear him ! He does it more when he's in trouble !
@@michaelnicholson1817 Yes, but only if someone makes quick movements. I can stand talking to a friend while out walking one of them, but if my friend tries to shake my hand he growls. Ironically Anubis (or his egyptian name Anpu/Yinpu) is an ancient egyptian wolf, previously thought to be a jackal. The reason the Xolo looks like Anubis is cuz they look like a statue, but Anubis had fur 🥰 that being said the Xolo is one of my favorite dog breeds and I absolutely love them. Thai Ridgeback look really cool too
Hi Anneka! I'm 14 years old and I admire you a lot. You're knowledge about wolfdogs is just outstanding. In fact, I would like to give you some suggestions about wolfdog breeds or wolf-looking breeds that you haven't filmed about. I hope you like it: - Hierran wolfdog - Calupoh or mexican wolfdog - East or west Siberian Laika - Mackenzie River Husky - Alaskan Noble Companion Dog - Native American Indian Dog (Not to be confused with the beautiful northaid wolfdog) - Kugsha - American Tundra Shepherd - Kunming wolfdog - Shikokou - Sulimov dog (they aren't wolfdogs, they're golden jackal hybrids, but they are a soon to be recognized breed) - Iberian Wolfdog (These dogs aren't a recognized breed, they are bred in Spain but they're still great and wolfy) - Sakhalin husky (nearly extinct now)
Both dogs are very strange but beautiful breeds. Since you've covered the Xolo dog, you'll have to cover the Inca Orchid. Another breed which is similar in appearance for hairless breeds. Though the Inca Orchid, I've only seen one up close but not a Xolo dog. The owner was impressed at my knowledge of being able to identify it. The only reason I got it right is because Xolo was the furthest from my mind. Plus, I'm a dog lover so I've always been good at identifying dog breeds ever since my family gave me a stamp book on dogs. The rest is history. I'm always fascinated by the many dog breeds. It was the Xolo dog that became the star and perfect pick for the Pixar/Disney animated film 'Coco'.
Ive seen both full episodes of these dogs, which were great and I'm glad you've used footage of those to create more content for us with a twist due to it being hard to film nowadays from the bulshit covid lockdowns. Thank you.
Yes the Dogo is a very interesting breed...it’s got cordoba in its blood which was a fighting dog that went extinct ,they couldn’t get them to breed because of their love to fight 😱
I own a Toy sized Xolo(male). My first xolo and I am completely in love with the breed now. I wanted a companion/cuddle buddy and xolo is an absolute professional at it. He follows me everywhere and when its bedtime he wants nothing more than to cuddle up with me and the warmth of a Xolo cuddling against you will put you right to sleep
they both look cute, but I would chose xolo as the weirdest/cutest. thai ridgeback is my ultimate favourite breed in many ways (my being a cat person, or so I thought).
Every animal is the same, just because of their looks and breed, they have been divided differently ..... They look net n clean, look beauty... Awesome video mam👍👍👍👍👏👏
As a SciFi writer the other-worldly hairless Xolo wins my vote for dog most likely to hop out of a flying saucer. The Xolo also has a very appealing temperament, and it’s grooming is a breeze. Very cool video! The truth is out there! 👽
Actually I have a Coated Xolocuitle and the best dog I ever had, very smart, easily to train and if you know the Character and History of a dog, you can even handle the reactions to uncommon situations and people. My Xolo is even quite cool if it comes about stranger things. He bark once and check my reaction if he need to alert more or not. Sure he won't be a helpful protection like a Thai Ridge but mostly his voice is enough to make people and animals go away 😂 and yes...he snuggle with in the bed ❤
There’s one standard xolo puppy at my work and he’s the coolest little dude. He’s sweet and has a huge personality. They’re really fun little dogs. And so so beautiful.
Both of them are beautiful. They look mythical underworld creatures lol. I asked my husband for a xolo a few yrs back but he said no because he thought they looked creepy :/
It's annoying she is saying Zolo. It's pronounced with a "sh" sound "sholo". The X -sh- sound is indigenous. If she did proper research it shouldn't be a problem?
Can you do a comparison between Alabai vs Kangal vs Causasian vs Tibetan mastiffs in size, weight, height, domenance over other dogs, temperament, friendly with kids and so on! It will be the greatest comparison ever sice these four are considered the top giant breeds!!
The xolo looks like should be guarding the river Styx at the gates of Hades. Anubis, is a great depiction. Both have a majestic look.
I agree I think they are absolutely beautiful
In Aztec mythology Xolos help the deaths to cross over the river of the after world.

Not ugly at all. Love that there is even a breed like this
Love doggies as much as horses & ponies
I agree completely. I would love to cuddle such a Xolo doggie 😍
The Xolo looks a lot like Anubis.
yeah I had mentioned it as well
Glorious! I love the Xolo’s! She pronounced the full name wrong though 😝 and “Xolo” I’m Spanish is pronounced “show-lo”

That Xolo in the beginning looks like he's posing for a royal painting.
