Of course I am extremely biased but I absolutely agree that in this guitar, the Silos are much stronger in the clean and split coil department, however the Zeus takes it for me under gain.
I like both pick ups. While the Zeus sounds great for high gain, I prefer the Silo overall because of the way they separate notes/create clarity. Thank you for the riffages, I enjoy them a lot!
Awesome video!! The Zeus are definitely "thicker", more compressed and seem higher in output, but I hear a loss of low midrange clarity and pushed high mids. Articulation/note separation is incredible with the overdrive on in the Silo's.. 6:13 vs 6:44 for the low end tightness, cleans are no contest.. 7:29 vs 8:03.... This video literally convinced me to order the Silo's. Thank you! Edit - Above being said the Zeus pickups sound pretty damn good under high gain also! May suit some styles
Would like to hear a side by side comparison with the same pickup positions. Switching with this guitar is confusing since the high strings on the bridge are so shrill.
Anyone else acknowledging the groove! Loving these riffs man!! Pickups wise I think the fact you're directly comparing a pair of £160 pickups to a £300 set and they're holding their own speaks volumes for me! Thanks for posting this!!
That's why I bought the Zeus pickups instead of any of the BKP. Bkp are good at what they do but legendary are just as good for a lower more reasonable price.
To me, I'm hearing the following. Zeus is much more low mid focussed than the Silo. It doesn't have the same thick upper mids so has less "cut" but doesn't bring nasty scratchy pick attack, even although it has an extended treble response. Cleans on the Zeus are not as full sounding or as balanced however it has more air and openness compared to the warmer Silo. In a guitar that has much more weight and thickness to its overall character the Zeus would warm up and cut through over the Silo I feel. Under heavy gain, I think the attack and tightness of the Zeus, at least with this tone, is preferable. The clarity is there without nasty treble and still retains the tightness but fuller sounding on the heavier chugs due to the lower mid focus. Clean and individual split, the silo is much warmer in this guitar, however the Zeus has a fantastic middle split position that sadly wasn't shown here. The split tone was designed primarily to be split with both coils on however still had a nice open airyness to it. Overall, I don't think you can say one is better than the other as they have different traits, albeit very close sounding in this guitar. I think the bottom line is it's a testament to just how fantastic this Markline really is as it's character always comes through regardless of the set used. My verdict; Yes.
While they are both pretty similar, I found the Silos snappier and with a higher clarity even on high gain and the Zeus a lil bit darker for my taste (but I like the look of the Zeus better lol)
I personally like the Silos better and when you think about it, a pickup that's not very forgiving when you don't play clean would actually make you a better guitarist. You'd think more about how you play and what you play and then in turn make the best of it ykwim?
Considering the "less is more" idea thinking about distortion and overdrive, I definitely like the Silos better, at least for leads. Great chugs on the Zues pickups for rhythm. The silos seem to have a much better dynamic range like you said. Zues doesn't beat Silo with a clean sound for sure.
BKP silos are still my pick, really nice. the note separation on the BKPs are might is say....LEGENDARY as for the other pickups they sound good but its too dark and muddy for me
Really nice sounding ! I still can't get to like that BKP "vintage-y" filtering in the midrange, it's always there and it's kinda irritating for me, even tho Rabea Massaad is one of my all-time favorite artists. It'd be really cool to hear another Guitarmory set of pickups in this Venus - They have quite the range, i'd love to hear more of them
Uff, that Zeus really cleaned up on hi-gain, but for my taste, it accentuated too much around 4-5khz so my ears were piercing for moments, especially on pick attacks. I'm pretty sure it cuts through a dense mix like crazy though. Clean - I prefer Silo definitely.
I reused the strings when I installed the Zeus', I had this set on for a little while. I preferred useing played-in strings than waste a set to play with fresh ones that sound (in my personal opinion) not as good in the first few hours of playing.
Nowhere yet, I'm still working with Marco on the Markline Guitars website that is going to be ready for 2021. You need to be quick then, his order list will certainly be complete very fast ;)
The Bare Knuckle Silo pickups are way more dirty...and that's a very good thing. I would send the Zeus pickups back with a note saying thanks but no thanks.
honestly alot of people are saying the dont like the zues cleans but i think they sounds very nice on the neck pickup, nice and warm lows with some clear highs.
Zeus sounds brighter which as i growing older tend to not like. I cant stand clean tones on both, they distort on their own how high output they possess.
I can tell you these pickups are definitely not high output. That slight breakup in the tone that you hear is coming from the amp sim. It could be easily dialed away.
No offense to Rabea because is amazing and an awesome but the silos aren't my favorite, that being said I like the silo Lot better then the Legendary pickups. Just my opinion.
Silos hands down - much more open and thick, balanced. The Zeus sounds pretty weak and trebly - sounds like my old stock Ibanez pickups with less treble.
i like the zeus better for high gain, but less for clean.. although they both sound really good!
That's the way I read it too
I would say Zeus in the bridge and Silo in the neck
I like the Legendary for high gain but BKP for clean. Also, jealous of the headless. That thing is rad
I’m still Jaming the old Soulhenge stuff would like for this Vox to come back to ur music I jam to the instrumentals to
I was going to say, they sound so close it's insane. I waited to hear what you had to say before I commented.

Great demo!

This is such a good video for so many reasons
Like you said so very close both are great - I thought the Zeus had some more clarity but still had the growl/bark the silo's do so well.
I personally like the Silos better and when you think about it, a pickup that's not very forgiving when you don't play clean would actually make you a better guitarist. You'd think more about how you play and what you play and then in turn make the best of it ykwim?
I have this model in ally guitars and they've never let me down. They are phenomenal I am never going back.
To me the Legendary p/u’s are darker. I prefer the Silo, although that copper look is sweet.
BKP silos are still my pick, really nice. the note separation on the BKPs are might is say....LEGENDARY
as for the other pickups they sound good but its too dark and muddy for me
Check out Lundgren Black Heaven
They both sound killer!

Great job! Awesome video! 👌🏻
It was indeed a good choice to put normal pickups in there instead of slanted ones, otherwise this test would have been impossible! 😄
It was a pleasure to be part of this video! Thank you so much for doing this. The guitar is stellar.
@@MilianMalivukMusic yeah! This was the reason!
it sounds like the zeus have more output.
the midi keyboard you one luks cool what's the name of the brand
The MIDI controller is from Arturia!
IM DIGGING THAT OD PEDAL!! do you have an idea where to get one? i cant find them anywhere
Uff, that Zeus really cleaned up on hi-gain, but for my taste, it accentuated too much around 4-5khz so my ears were piercing for moments, especially on pick attacks. I'm pretty sure it cuts through a dense mix like crazy though. Clean - I prefer Silo definitely.
nice cmparison bud wish they had some info on their website but im guessing their still working on it
The site is still under construction!
@@MilianMalivukMusic yeah ive noticed im mainly a bk guy but alwayse nice to see new companys coming with great pickups
@@Jay-rd6fe Check out their Facebook!

@@MilianMalivukMusic the bridge hardware looks very similar to my strandbergs.
for me it did not seem close at all. the silos are articulate and sound amazing. the zeus were muddier and fuzzier. I don't really prefer muddy fuzz.
They sound both great!
The stone wash copper finish on the Zeus set looks killer!
Are those Zeus pickups loaded with Alnico V, like the Silos?
They are both Ceramic.
amazing from Legendary Pickups !
Silo sounds great but the Zeus is the Winner for me.
why using the boss noisegate and not the key & gate?
Ya really. In his vid he couldnt live without the key and gate.
Some people will say anything to sell a product.
G go figure thats a new one...not!!!
Did you use fresh strings for both? The Silos sound kind of stifled in comparison
I reused the strings when I installed the Zeus', I had this set on for a little while. I preferred useing played-in strings than waste a set to play with fresh ones that sound (in my personal opinion) not as good in the first few hours of playing.
@@MilianMalivukMusic Oh nice, a fair test then. The clarity on those zues pickups is fantastic.
Dang, you've got great taste in guitars.
1:03 It sounded weird considering that Zeus is the father of Venus (Aphrodite)
🤣
Where can I purchase that stunning guitar? :O

@@MilianMalivukMusic Aha, I was thinking I couldn't find the site but now I know why :) Thank you!
Hey, dude, what kind of tuning are you using?
Dropped B!
That silo has a certain snarl I like
I hate to admit it but I much prefer the Zeus sound, far clearer and more natural.
The silos sound almost active which is not nice.
I liked the video right after hearing the pun. That's just the kinda person I am.
The Bare Knuckle Silo pickups are way more dirty...and that's a very good thing. I would send the Zeus pickups back with a note saying thanks but no thanks.
I expected to like the Silo but the Zeus wins for me. Just sounds tighter
Through my studio heads. Silo all the way.
Zeus sound a little bit mid scooped compared to the SILO
Silo’s for me.

@@MilianMalivukMusic Its not slight, its pretty high for any clean tone, but i trust your words. :)
your amp is broken, i would check the tubes . sike it sounds omazing

Why not do the cleans first, then progressively dirtier? We get to metal from the base.
Because this channel is about metal in the first place.
Boomer energy
Bare Knuckle all day!
Ooo, close call, I think Silo wins by a hair.
Zeus best
SILO.
Bkp all the way
Silos hands down - much more open and thick, balanced. The Zeus sounds pretty weak and trebly - sounds like my old stock Ibanez pickups with less treble.
