      Both have an oculus type of board along their roofs. The oculus board means there will be no bad views in the arena, kinda like jerry's world/at&t stadium with their big board in arlington, tx & sofi stadium. If you can't see the court/field clear enough, just look up at the giant oculus type of board. Cool stuff!!

    Paid for without one cent of tax payer money he can do it so can the rest of these wealthy owners in all sports. If you own a sports team build your own house. Enough of coming to the tax payers for free money just to enrich owners. Cities always get the raw end of the deal and the taxpayers.

      @@bobbowie9350 it’s kind of depending on how you define his Money…. I think he got loans out to pay for the stadium which realistically he’ll never have to pay back with other investors, some from Microsoft helping him but the main thing is none of it came from taxes, which fans should be relieved over, And apparently he at least does own the land, implying he does have a lot of money put in this

    • @dorothygale1104
      @dorothygale1104 9 днів тому

      @@nathansteele4358I don’t know if Steve Ballmer is using his cash to fund the stadium or if he is privately financing it, but either way he is paying for the stadium, as he is personally on the hook for any loan (if there is one) and repayment will come from him. The idea that he will never have to pay a loan off (if there is one) is totally incorrect. There are no investors in the Clippers, as Ballmer owns 109% of the team. But if he sells a piece of the team to investors to pay off a loan, he is paying that loan because he would be using something he owns to generate cash to pay the loan. Also, he would be making payments on a loan while it exists. In any case, using a loan (if thre is one) to fund the stadium is, in fact, Ballmer using his own funds because he is on the hook to repay the loan whether he repays it with cash he has or he sells an asset to repay the loan.
      Also, Microsoft wouldn’t help him pay the loan, as he is now just an owner of stock in Microsoft (the biggest source of his $100B+ net worth). He could sell some of his Microsoft stock to pay off a loan, but that is not Microsoft helping him, but that is him selling an asset he owns to generate cash.

    LA has the biggest baseball stadium in the world with Dodger Stadium having a capacity of well over 50k. They are about to have the most expensive arena in the world as the first ever multi-billion dollar arena ever built. Of course they also have by far the most expensive stadium in So-Fi which is well over twice and almost 3 times as expensive as any stadium ever built at $5.4+ billion. LA definitely does it up when it comes to their sports teams. I did talk to a fan who went to So-Fi and was complaining about the cost though. I think the cheap seats are pretty close to $200 each and if you want to eat or drink there even some of the most basic food items are in the $50-$65 range. I guess they gotta pay for these venues somehow.

    @stephenhill5767 24 дні тому +1

    Steve Ballmer went through developers to buy the 22 acres Intuit Dome sits on for $66.2 million dollars. This was the cost of buying land in Inglewood. While the land may be more expensive than in other areas of the country, at a total cost of 2 billion dollars to build it is the cutting edge technology, fan amenities and environmental friendly materials like 100% low carbon concrete that make the stadium expensive. Amazon HQ2 in Virginia uses a lot of the same material and it costs $2.5 billion. The stadiums location likely has very little to do with the extravagant cost.

All new construction, with a flat enough roof , are required to have roof solar panels or a green planted roof. It's not really about being "green" but rather for meeting the growing energy demands many cities in America will have in the near future. So might as well take electric loads off the grid starting now instead of waiting for when it's too late. " Green roofs help with the urban heat island effect so less a/c is needed

    That whole area is a nightmare for people that live nearby. They built all these new structures, but did not add any parking! I know a guy that lives down the street from there. On days when there are events, whether games or concerts, people trample his yard, they piss on his property, they throw their empty beer cans, etc. It's a nightmare. His street turns into a loud unruly thoroughfare. Many of the neighborhoods have lost market value on their homes because of the constant traffic and noise. Once this new dome opens up, I feel sorry for those people...

    I am a BBall fan but stopped watching these over paid players years ago. Stopped watching after MJ, Magic, and Larry legend went out of the game. It’s boring the crowd roars when a 6’8 or 7 footer dunks, big deal ! Raise the basket to 12’ get rid of the shot clock.
    I now go to high school games for great entertainment. Watch college ball some but it’s getting polluted with money and super conferences. As this goes on I’m afraid college ball will lose its luster too.

      That would be interesting, heck even if it was a scenario where they crashed into the Hudson River instead and somehow some people survived then that would’ve been quite history altering as well for both flights that struck the towers.
