My cornea specialist (Mass Eye & Ear) suggested I get tested for allergies. I went to allergist and was tested, it was determined I had 8 serious allergies. My specialist felt that my dry eye might have been caused by the allergies. I started immunotherapy, by using SLIT method. Within about a year, my dry eye dramatically improved. At this point, 7 years later, I do have flareups occasionally, but the daily nightmare of having dry eye has completely ended. Wow. So pleased with this. Let me know if you have any questions, as I will be glad to respond.

I love the Optase mask, works great. The dry eye intense drops not only didn’t help, they seemed to make it worse but the MGD version helps me a lot. Taking high quality fish oil has not helped at all. For a while one of my eyelids was twitching badly, I started using the Optase wash with tea tree oil & the twitching stopped within 2 days, thankfully. I use it once a day. However my eyes still feel very dry and are not improving. The warm compress & drops offer relief but the condition does not improve.

Great video! I started using preservative free drops. I use drops only at night when the dryness becomes noticeable. I put drops in many times in the night. Sometimes I cannot open my eyes until I get the drops into my eyes. It is very painful. I have a dry eye mask and virtually never use it. I stopped the flax seed oil supplements my doctor recommended due to cost. I hear you when you say consistency and not doing treatment only when you have symptoms! I have blepharitis in both eyes upper and lower lids - squamous..

My eyelids stick to my eyes at night after as little as 1 and a half hours. Makes it difficult to sleep because eye movement in REM sleep rips at my cornea and the pain wakes me up.
Id love to see an item covering this aspect of dry eye disease. Ive been to many optomitrists and so far nothing helps.

Hello Audrey from the UK, a lot of information about dry eye, I was diagnosed with dry eye about eighteen months ago, since then have had multi focal lense surgery, improving but struggling with dry eye, I am using the heat pad but obviously as you point out not on a regular basis, alsoeye drops but I was was told as and when, again false information, I will now use both on a regular basis to hopefully have better results, my daily drops are Hycosan Extra, could this be one of your good eye drops, I also have to use Lumigan to help with eye pressure? Thank you so much for your input helping people with eye issues, Derek

Hello Dr. Audrey! watching here from the Philippines.
My Ophthalmologist found my eye with astigmatism and dry eyes. I had this for over 5years now. He said, there is no available treatment in our area as of the moment, yet he referred me to a higher and bigger facility. And, I experienced a glare which is so bothersome especially when I read something for about 15 to 20 minutes.
Is there any home treatment for this? Thanks a lot and regards.

    • @nastazioromanos9531

@@missroseiam I suggest searching the Internet for Demodex. It's a parasite small emough to enter the pores of your eye lashes eyebrows as well as the the pipes that carry oil and lubricate the eye. It feeds on that oil - hence it causes dry eye and if it's not treated you nose will dry too and it will cause sinusitis.
