Thank you so much! Got it up and running and its freaking amazing. Always wanted a better way to replace older vid quality and find missing episodes. Strong work as always!
Hey David. Yeah Sonarr is great. Especially how it can replace lower quality shows etc. Have you tried Radarr for movies? Does the same can replace your lower quality movies with HD etc.
This is the first time i've heard of radarr. I'll definitely check it out! Thank you! Edit: Nevermind, i actually saw your tutorial on it. lol. i just never tried installing it on unraid.
I had the same problem. Edit container, scroll down and add another path. Config type = Path, Name = Downloads, Container path = /downloads, Host Path = your cllient download location. In my case it is /mnt/user/Downloads. Add and hit apply and start the container. Works with Radarr too.
@@ZOX1337 thanks for the reply, I did get it to work but can't remember what the problem was as it quite a while ago, only problem I have now its mover dusnt move the files from the cache untill I shutdown sonarr and sabnzbd dockers.
Can you briefly explain why you want us to use a usnet client instead of deluge and what the difference is? I already had deluge setup based on your deluge video you made.
A Usenet client downloads from Usenet servers instead of downloading from torrents. You have to subscribe to a Usenet provider to get access to Usenet. Usenet used to be far superior to torrent (imo) as they download at your maximum download speed and don't require you to upload at all. But.. internet speeds have become so fast in recent years, peers can upload to you on a torrent at blazing speeds.. makes paying for a Usenet subscription seems kind of pointless.
Hi Ed, Love these videos. I watched a more recent video which I believe had me install TV and Movies on different disks. Installing SAB seems to be a challenge for Host Path 2. Is there updated directions?
@spaceinvaderone another great and helpful video from you and another newbie question from me. as you instructed in your deluge video I have an unzipped_files folder for the extracted files. While the extractor plugin works for deluge and extracts all the zipped folders Sonarr and Radarr can't seem to find those extracted files to import to their correct location. They only find the clean downloaded files under completed folder and move them to their correct location. I tried to put the extracted folder inside the completed folder but it didn't work. What might be missed out during the setting of these docker containers? Other than that great videos and thanj you very much once again as you make Unraid much easier to operate.
At 11:50. I use NZBGet. Would you know why the "Use SSL" button doesnt work for me? Or do i leave it as "NO" since Nzbget itself is already set up to use SSL with my main provider?
Can you update this video for how to use filebot and the AMC script to post process files for Sonarr/Radarr? Without native symlink abilities, these apps are a no-go for me. But its possible with Filebot.
Great video! One thing I have noticed when using sabnzbd is the increased iowait(seen using netdata) when it's extracting the file. It's so bad the whole unraid system locks up and becomes super slow. This affects unriad gui and docker Containers ect. Sabnzbd is installed on my cache drive that is 2 ssds in raid1 using btrfs. And the files are downloaded and extracted on the same drive. Have you noticed anything similar?
No, I haven't had that problem myself. Iowait is the measure of time over a given period that a cpu or vcpu is spent idle because all runnable tasks are waiting for a IO operation to be finished. I wonder if your problem is sab spiking the cpu when extracting files. So try pinning sab to one or 2 cores. You can see how to do this in my second server tuning video. Then when sab extracts a file it will only be able to use part of your cpu so then the unraid GUI etc shouldn't lock up. Yeah, it will take a little longer to extract a file but hey who cares !! :)
If I wanted to use say transmission outside the user defined network what IP and port should I be looking for on the transmission container? Thanks Ed donator here :)
Hey I followed your tutorial, there is just one place it differs and I can't figure out. you use your media container, and it seems it spreads out on all disk. I would like to use each disk for itself. Like disk 2 for series. But how. I made a share in unraid /mnt/disk2/TV but it does not show in sonarr
Your videos are always great! I have an idea for another one: How to use the "Dynamix File Integrity" plugin? (Or something similar). The idea comes after my unRAID froze on me and forced me to do a "dirty" shut down. AFter the parity check I was told that there were a number of errors but I had no idea on which files! (Boo!) I'm looking for a tool that let's me know what files fail a parity check and it looks like that plugin can, but I wanted to know what you use for this and HOW to use it. What do you think?
Hi AncientVale, yes definitely. Sickrage is good and I used it for a long time along side sonarr. But Sonarr is now at present the best in my opinion and I dont use sickrage anymore. I especially like how sonarr will update existing shows to hd etc
Bit of a noob question, but can I have a series in multiple locations? Some shows I have a couple of seasons on DVD and the rest BR in different locations .../DVDs/ and .../BluRays/. Am I going to have to shuffle things around?
Thanks for that, I'll get tidying. Any tips on configuring Sonarr for running both Deluge and NZBget? If you've only got one data folder, do you configure them both for the same directory? Maybe the topic of a mini tutorial?
Thanks for the video, I went thru but on the automation using the renamer Radar can't find the files even that they are under the correct folder is driving me crazy I can't figure out.

Thanks for the reply Spaceinvader :-) can you give a a closer look on this set up? my cache is not that big but i think that a usb 3.1 HD would be better to "burn" on torrent and then sonarr would move it directly. i can be missing something on the unassigned devices plugin... another request (if possible) would be to show how to put plex transcoding on to ram and how to see if it is indeed working for the new kids on linux :-) Thanks again for all the videos and info, i'm watching them from start :-)
Hi Ruben. Yeah I can see why you may not want to use the cache to have your downloads go onto first. Torrents can cause alot of disk io so using an unassigned usb3 drive would work. You would just have to set the location of the download folder to be the unassigned device. The location would look a bit like this /mnt/drives/thenameoftheharddrive/downloads. You would need to create the folder downloads on the usb drive. Use unassigned devices to format it in xfs. Then enable unassigned devices to share the drive as an smb share. Now you can browse there and create a folder downloads on the drive which you can then map through to your torrent client and progs like sonnar etc. Hope that makes sense :)
