I would HATE to have a child screaming as I am saying my vows professing my love for my husband. It would almost ruin it for me. I am strongly considering a kid free wedding.

Stephanie M if a innocent baby could ruin that moment then perhaps you don’t love your husband as much as you say. If you did then nothing could ruin that moment.

Rebecca Brown wow lol. Actually, it shows how much she loves her husband. It's about wanting to have a good and memorable time with her husband. This is a milestone for them. They won't get to have this event again without a lot of work and money; there is no redo. It's natural to want it to be perfect for the both of them.

GO Stephanie it is YOUR day to choose how you want it to go, and if you don't want anything or anyone to take away from the one moment you've waited for your whole life then that is YOUR choice. Some people think tha because their whole life revolves around their kids so should others. I love kids, but I didn't take my daughter to showers, weddings, etc.... because it was that person's special day, not mine. I try to think of others and not be selfish like they are raising kids to be now days. So do it your way, but some may not can come in the same respect.

To anyone saying "they're just kids" or "kids will be kids, get over it"
No. If you want to pay my 20-30k back for my venue, my food, my bar, my tuxes, the dresses, the videographer/photographer, the decorations, the cake, the flowers, the makeup, then you can say whatever you'd like. Have your kids flip over tables for all I give a damn...but until that day comes, either keep a firm grip on your children and their behavior (and be expected to be asked to leave if you can't)...or get a baby sitter...or don't come. I don't mind saving that $4-500+ on you, your date, and your kids.
I invited you because I thought we were family/friends and had the same interests in mind...if not...no loss.
I would never go to the most important day of your life and think I had the right to do whatever, or have my children do whatever...why would you do that to us? If you had an open bar, and I got hammered, started making scenes, blurting out during your vows...dancing during your first dance...made inappropriate gestures or comments during your speeches...you'd be understandably pissed. Why would you expect any less for me?

I know for some it’s cute, they like kids, whatever, but one day & one event without kids is fine.
I don’t want to hear crying, a toddler throwing a tantrum, or kids fighting at any point at my wedding. Nothing wrong with wanting a adult only event.

Hire a sitter for those brats. Parents and their children are soooo annoying. I suggest to anyone this; the planet is badly overpopulated. Enjoy more money, less stress, more adventure, early retirement, and DONT HAVE CHILDREN.

I would only bring kids if I knew them and if I knew they were well behaved. My brothers wedding I was 8 and 3 of my cousins which were 5-6 were there and they acted like perfect angels. When I was at my sisters wedding when I was 4 I was flower girl and I acted fine and my brother who was 6 at the time acted perfect.

I would never want kids who are going to scream, yell, cry and throw a fit, or misbehave at my wedding... AT ALL. Not the ceremony, not the reception, not at the event, period. And I don't care if people think "innocent baby" because don't get me wrong, I LOVE babies and kids, I would love them to celebrate my special day with me, but some babies and children would really ruin everything, and that's not something I would allow or ignore. Only kids I want at my wedding are kids who I know very well, that I consider family, and that I know will behave themselves. That's it.

Kids are great if you have them, but it is difficult to control them at a wedding, mainly because weddings are super boring. It is best to leave them with a sitter while you enjoy the adult-type festivities.

The reason I think kids shouldn't be at weddings is because our weddings have just five minutes of the official crap and then all hell breaks loose with boom boxes bigger than me that produce sound at volumes that cause permamnent hearing damage if exposed for long periods of time. Guess how long you are at a wedding. Ours generally start around 18.00 and end around 1.00. That's 7 hours of being exposed to sounds louder than 100 decibells. I'm just worried the kids will suffer from hearing damage just cause the parents wanted "normal kids" that went with them to those social shitholes.

Lol kid free weddings are for people without kids generally speaking, have them in your 20s and things will prob be fine, have them in your 30s and you’ll see less of your friends (not all but some definitely) with kids by the end of the year. Doesn’t make for bad/good people, it’s just like watching the opening of the presents, some people HATE it, some people LOVE it, but with no-kid weddings some people won’t even come to your wedding because they can’t leave their kids with a care giver (lots of different situations why, not everyone has a family member available or a daycare or an extra caregiver, and not all kids can be left alone with another adult from the day they are born) and people never forget weddings they wanted to attend but couldn’t be part of that special day, just the reality of it all.

I'd rather loose you and your snotty sticky child than have MY and my husband's wedding day ruined!!
Absolutely NOT!! We spend too much money and effort on it to be just how we want it!
So if you can't be parted from your child just one fking day for the sake of honouring someone's big day, than, good riddance! You wouldn't be missed!
Too many parents put their little monsters on a goddamn pedestals thinking they are precious and well behaved, and never discipline them! So stay at home momma! We'll have our happy day regardless!!

Just a guess, but have you seen how bad kids these days behave out in public? No manners or social etiquette running around wild making a scene. So people don't want them in certain places ruining their day. Now, well behaved kids are great to be around and cute and funny. It's all up to the parents and how well they do their job at rasing them is what matters.
