Thank you for you and your co pilot to visit these amazing places in Japan. Here in Florida, the weather is tropical and the residents complain about the communities. Japan is supportive to providing family amenities to everyone.

I love roadside stops in Japan! the regional things you can get, the restaurants... so much betetr then what we get here. That's just a local shop with a fuel station and perhaps a fastfood restaurant. I still remember the roadside stop on teh way to Tokyo from Narita; the black bean tea that I bought there was amazing and the food so good. Fond memories.
Never knew this area you traveled through was famous for wasabi. The food at the izakaya kooks delicious, not sure about that fish though, don't really like whole fish and eating the bones. Dit Saotoshi had a sake taste set? The figs look so delicous!! we love figs. to eat as it is or with some nama ham. And I recently heard a recipe to coat it with starch after peeling and deepfry and serve with ankake sauce.
Oh crazy, I've been curious about the inside of that Green Rich Hotel since I saw it in the process of being built...looks really nice! Glad you guys enjoyed your visit to Matsue! Also, I've stopped at that Kirara road station before too, it's super cute! Actually visited it when my friend and I were on the way to Iwami Ginzan!
