    You guys ROCK!! So impressed was the instructor for how well I did my skills, she asked what school did I get my training from and I learned everything from this site. ( I had taken a cna class but it was exactly a year to the date of my exam) And I passed my skills and written exam with flying colors!! Your site made all the difference in me passing my skills exam, can't thank you enough!!!!!!

    You are a motivated self-studier to have been away from the class for a year, but then use these videos to to do so well! I must admit, I was totally impressed with this teacher at Midlands Technical College in South Carolina when I was doing the original filming. She's got to be one of the best and most thorough instructors out there, so you've learned from the best! Congratulations!

    she made the bed good, and made sure there were no trace of wrinkles-which will cause decubitus. The bath blanket was an excellent idea! In our class we use those thick blankets...But I will incorporate using the thick blanket as a protective cover blanket when It comes time for my skill

    Way to go, Hanh! Thanks for letting us know you're in our neighboring state. We get feedback from all over the world, so it's nice to know where the feedback is coming from. Congratulations! So glad we could help.

    Comment from the instructor in SC: "Side rails are considered a restraint if left up without first having a doctors order for them. You may use side rails when rolling a patient as a safety measure only, they must then be put down when procedure is over."

    Comment from the instructor: "The theory behind the pillowcase opening facing away from the door has always been so that pathogens coming into the room from the doorway would not contaminate the pillow. I think in reality, it has more to do with being aesthetically pleasing not to see the open side of the pillow. Much like the fact that a catheter bag should be away from the door so that is not the first thing you see when entering the room."

    Comment from the instructor: "In reality you most definitely would. During TESTING, it does not say to wear gloves as part of the procedure. As the test is timed, one does not want to add extra steps and use up that limited time."

    She's worried about "air born " pathogens, with NO GLOVES ON

    This seems like a task that is a lot simpler than it sounds. I also love the fact that she placed a blanket on top of him while she removed the dirty linens. This was the first time that I have ever seen that done as a nursing student. In all, I will say that this is an excellent education tool. However, I do have a question. While making an occupied bed, why is it important to have the opening of the pillowcase facing away from the door?

    You don't miter the corners anymore. Also, it is very important to check for no wrinkles on the bottom and to say "there are no wrinkles".
    I have learned so much from these videos. Thank you so much!

    I have been in the CNA program for 4 weeks now, and we’re in clinicals now training on the floor. The instructor directed us to this site to watch for extra training, I’ve gotten so much insight, and I appreciate what you’re doing. I noticed you haven’t worn gloves, is it necessary when changing sheets while the bed is occupied?

    • @ride105
      @ride105  Місяць тому

      That may vary from state to state. It was not necessary in SC at the time we made these videos.

    wow, a little different than what I was taught. We did not use a bath blanket to cover res., and the direction of pillow case never mentioned.

    When handling soiled linens your support to use PPE gloves but it seems like that would be difficult now realizing you would have to change them after you pull down soiled linens from bottom then after you undo one side and then after you undo the other side because you can't touch the clean linen with the gloves..help

    • @AdamSmith-eg9ji
      @AdamSmith-eg9ji 9 років тому +1

      good question @ Lyric Soul..supposing u evaluated your client before setting. you would have found out that the linens are soiled and this client is probably an incontinent one...therefore the bed would have been made with bottom sheet, mackintosh throw sheet and the to client...then with your clean gloves, you would have to remove the throw sheet and mackintosh first, clean the client and he will be left now on the bottom sheet. you can then change your gloves and continue your bed making procedure...hope it helps......sometimes u need to use common sense..lol

    In Texas, side rails are considered restraints and have been banned. In this case, would I role the resident toward me in order to use myself as a side rail and prevent the resident from falling?

    I have a question: while you did take coversheet that was over the patient you did fold it so the uper side of the sheet were turned inside. Wouldnt it be othervise for client does lies UNDER the sheet, so down part of the sheet is what has minority of skin and sweat and maybe some blood or other body fluids?
    Thank you
