Wow You need to change those glow plugs...

Wrong. You should first turn the engine for one or two seconds. And then heat it up. And then star the engine.

Turn the engine for 2seconds? You mean let the glow plug be done and turn it for 2sec? Then glow plug agen and try to start it?
Have cold started a 1.9TDI 2001 Caddy in 28-32 celsius minus a few times. (heater died on it right in the middle of winter) And have faild to start sometimes... Trying to turn it over for just that 2sec do help allot to just heat it up before trying to do a real start try. But it drains the battery even if you use a big high AH batteri. But with the charger on the battery it's possible. Best tip is to be ready to turn the key when the light gose off. Like far far faster then this video where it took him ages to turn the key!
-20 and around -25 is not a problem. It's a bit grumpy but can deal with it and start every time first try no charger or anything. -30 ow boy ow boy it's not happy XD

-30 it's hard to get it into neutral. Glow plugs are forver on, have to let it be in idle for some time before slowly crawling away in first. And on the road it's a task and a half to change into second gear. 3th gear grinds and hate cold, takes 30km before I ever use it in winter. 4th gear is happy and never gives a shit about the weather XD 5th is a mix of 2th and 4th gear. Fun with cars!
