Here is a couple helpful tips: Don’t be shy to wear leggings or something warm under your dress. No one will see it and you’ll be so thankful you did because you’ll be nice and warm! 😊 also, make sure you get matching shawls for your bridesmaids because they’ll want to wear something to keep warm, but you want the pictures to match! Remember to account for extra travel time Incase there is bad weather! Have a coat check or somewhere that people can put their coats when they come inside! Make sure you schedule your photos appropriately because the sun sets a lot earlier in winter. Hope these tips helped. If they did feel free to head over to my channel as I post wedding tips and tricks every Wednesday 🥰 Best of luck planning your wedding!
An additional thought regarding self-serve drink stations- consider having multiple of them if your venue is quite large or very crowded. This way, the tables that are farthest from the bar can have easier access to at least water and ice. And make sure you have a designated person to keep an eye on refills for that station.
I didn't even think about the melting food!! Definitely saving this video for later. I still want a veil though, so I think I'll do a flower crown + long veil, so my head will still be adorned after the ceremony!!
A few thoughts from watching this: 1. A friend who got married in summer (church wedding, outdoor reception) splurged to get enough of those little cutout pattern sandalwood fans for everyone and then tied wrist loops of ribbon to them in their wedding colors. It was so nice! They looked beautiful, worked better than paper and smelled soooo good. 2. If you have a quirky aesthetic, you can do dry ice punch for an outdoor reception. If you don't know already, for each batch you need two very large METAL punchbowls of different sizes so that one can keep the other suspended (if either of these is glass, plastic, wood, anything, it WILL CRACK), gallons of fruit juice or any drink you would prefer carbonated, and dry ice (duh). You stack the bigger bowl on the smaller one, fill it with punch, and put in a small amount of dry ice. The effect is so great. Not only do you get this very cool cauldron effect with fog billowing off of your punch bowl - inherently awesome - but a tiny bit of dry ice takes way longer to melt than regular ice, it gets your drink COLD (whoever is tending the punch bowl will have to break off the punch when-not-if it starts to freeze around the dry ice), and whatever flat drink you use for punch will become extremely effervescent. My favorite way to do a punch bowl. 3. I feel like a snow cone stand at an outdoor ceremony would be incredibly cool, especially if they coordinated with the bar so your could have boozy snow cones. Like who doesn't want boozy snow cones? 4. I had some very dear friends who got married in summer, outside, very bright, very hot. There was a tiny tent - for the wedding party. The rest of us burned. Don't be those people. 5. If you really want live flowers, you can buy very small corsage vials and completely hide them in your hair, as long as your hairstylist knows in advance. The one time I did bridal party hair and makeup, we styled the bride's hair around tiny vials of water with rose buds in them, and they were completely invisible and looked great. Just remember that they don't have a way of attaching to your head. 6. Ice, ice cream, snow cones, popsicles, etc are all great, but don't forget that if you are very very hot and everything you're consuming is very very cold, you can get very ill. So make sure there are cool refreshing drinks and cool refreshing food, but you don't want people throwing up from the sudden temperature change. 7. Not to be the scary person who says this, but in any outdoor event but especially summer events, make sure there is a designated shaded area with medical supplies, because people can and do get heat stroke.

@@kayseacamp Well, I agree with your statement to a point. If you're talking about the lower deserts where highs remain 100+, I agree with you %1000. @@beccag2758 I think it depends on the climate. I mean, yes, in the lower deserts of Arizona, it gets HOTT. I mean, HOTTT in the summer. Valerie Linares I’m sorry you took my comment literally. Of course NAZ is cooler than SOAZ. I was mainly being cheeky about how hot it gets down here in Tucson Yuma, and PHX. NAZ feels like it’s an entirely different state. Like CO. lol

I live in Texas, houston area, my wedding is in May!! NO ONE talks about summer weddings in places where its a little hotter than other states. THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!
my weddings indoors in the middle of autumn but yet I am watching this! But hey still good to draw attention to things to think about for weather in general
Any tips for preparing for anything? I’m getting married in November so it’s technically a fall wedding, but we live in Florida, sooooooo.... We’ll know the day of.
I intern with a wedding planner. My best advice is to ask your wedding planner, if you have one bc they know how best to plan for things. In terms of weather, come up with very rough plans of what to do in case it rains or is too hot. Tents are expensive, so decide at late as you feel comfortable to book one or not. There's a lot of moving parts, but I hope this helps ;)
Having a Halloween day wedding, we are planning an indoor ceremony and indoor lunch but are hoping for an outdoor party/carnival.. But we know it is typically wet on Halloween in our area so we have concrete basketball court available or we might rearrange some table plans and do the party indoors if we have to Mostly depending on the Covid-climate and how it everything plays out
Love, Love, Love your channel! You have been such a help when it comes to planning my wedding and I absolutely love how energetic and wonderful you are ! ❤️

This video is so amazing as I am currently planning my summer wedding!! Thank you for your content I’ve been watching all the videos and it’s made me very excited and feel more confident in my ability to plan this wedding (with some help of course!).
Really appreciate this one. In western Washington the options are have your wedding in the summer or have it inside, and while it's not ever going to be scorching, I still want everyone to be comfortable. I think the one thing that I really didn't consider was the different wine types. I'm not really a wine or beer drinker, so I completely forgot that some wines are chilled and some aren't!
Hey Jamie you are god sent. I have your master plan and am super excited. However, my dream wedding is an outdoor wedding and I am a little skeptical with have a buffet style wedding outdoors. Can you please give me some tips of how to protect your food/ desserts for an outdoor wedding? Thank you for all that you do.
*not applicable for England 😂😂😂 more like give your guests wellies and indoor spaces! Although that being said last summer and 2018 we had record breaking ridiculously hot and sweaty weather.
FINALLY! Love your videos, thank you so much! I'd love a part 2 of this for tips for adjusting to weather in the summer (what to do if it rains on your wedding day).
Hi Jamie, I think I might have binged every wedding video you made 😃 I have a request. In the 25 forgotten things video you mentioned to pick your songs for first dance, bouquet toss "blablabla" - could you make a video about the blabla part please 😅 What "events" need or could have special music, that can be things to use special music for? Maybe combined with a possible dance (father-daughter / bridesmaids... ) combinations that are popular? I really could use inspiration about this part 😊Thanks!
Q: Imagine a couple is having a backyard immediate family only wedding. Photography is a priority, but seeing the bride and groom in their wedding attire for every photo isn’t necessary. Have you ever heard of the photographer coming for an hour during the “rehearsal” ( immediate family only with no attendants doesn’t need a rehearsal)? Big family shots could be taken then leaving wedding day for details, getting ready, couple, and couple and parents shots.
I wish that you could plan my wedding, or at least be my day of coordinator! I live in a small town and although there are people who provide those services, they kind of have a monopoly and therefore jack the prices WAAY up 😅 My fiance and I have a small budget, but i know it will be the one thing I regret for my wedding! Your videos are so helpful and I love/watch them all!! My event will be in the last week of May next year, and I am praying for cool weather 🙃🙇♀️👰
PLEASE do a video for couples having trouble on choosing the location. My fiancés family lives in New Mexico and i also have some family here. Most of my family is out in California. The biggest issue is the price & the fact that my aunties who practically raised me aren't able to travel long distance so them coming out to New Mexico is impossible, but once again the cost & thinking about telling his family that they have to travel will be so frustrating & very complicated. I'm in a complicated position 😭
Can you do one for November/winter weddings? Or just all the seasons? These videos are amazing! I've been binge-watching them for days trying to get an idea of what I want. Don't even know what season to set the date in yet!
1) Guest comfort (sunscreen, bugspray, fans) 2) Drinks (more white wine and cold beer, LOTS of water and ice) 3) Shade/AC 4) Flowers - Durable flowers that won't wilt, don't repurpose 5) Timeline - don't make people stay in the sun, consider a later timeline 6) Food - lighter fare 7) Attire - looser, lighter clothing, consider no train or veil 8) Hair/makeup - long-lasting makeup, consider an updo 9) Desserts - consider cold deserts (i.e. popsicles during cocktail hour, ice cream truck), and be careful of buttercream and bugs
Can you do a video for how to do a social distancing wedding. Now that my big ceremony with my wedding planner/coordinator was moved to January, my fiancé and I still want to get married on our original date, but we don't know how to do it! Advice on a small, quick, not too-formal wedding! Thanks!
Your hair looks gorgeous today!!! This was very informative and scary at the same time.. There is so much I didn't consider about a July wedding xD but with the help of your videos it'll go great :D
Hi! I started watching your video catalog the past week and am obsessed. I have a venue picked: my local church and the attached reception hall. I'm a hands-on, crafty person who has been collecting plates/centerpieces/etc myself, already. I'm confused on setup specifically. Can you do a video on just setup? Can I ask the church if I can personally set up the reception hall myself the day before or is setup always day-off? I have a specific vision of what I want and I'm not sure who I should leave those important details to if I don't do it myself. What vendor would do it? Do friends and family usually do it while the bride gets ready? I love your content and would appreciate the help!
I'd love to see wedding tips for small weddings! We invited 250 people, but may have to limit our November wedding (postponed from May 30th) to 50 people.
Any tips for planning a wedding where you and your fiancé live in one state (where the wedding will likely be) and both of your families and friends are in the same state a billion miles away. Love your page btw very very helpful and really funny as well!
Rip, most of these I am doing. Black, tight fitted dresses. All because my wedding was supposed to be Winter 2020 but was moved to summer 2021 due to corona. Soz friends, going to have to be hot, I can't afford to redo everything :(
Can you do a video on what information you HAVE to include in your DIY invite suite? I’m trying to find ways to inform people that the ceremony is outside in a garden but the reception is inside (so probably no stilettos, because grass). Idk if I HAVE to even tell them
When I was creating my invitations, I also struggled with informing people about what footwear to wear because grass. After much google searching, this is what I came up with: "The ceremony will be on the grass; Please choose your footwear accordingly. " It's not very romantic or cute. But hopefully it's clear and to the point. Generally speaking, I absolutely think you should tell them. What if they do wear stilettos or some other pokey shoe and discover the ceremony is on the grass? Then they either get stuck in the grass, or have to get their feet dirty walking in the grass. Or worse, it's a species of grass that's uncomfortable to walk on so it isn't ideal to take one's shoes off. It is ultimately up to you to tell them. But I do highly recommend letting your guests know about the grass. Oh, lastly, I genuinely want to know, what are your thoughts on my statement about grass, "The ceremony will be on grass; please choose your footwear accordingly." Do you think that is clear and to the point? Do you think it could still be confusing for some? Please let me know. I am genuinely interested in your ideas. Thanks! :-)
Valerie Linares You’re the best! Thanks girlie! And I think that works actually! Originally I had “join us in the meadow for an outdoor ceremony, indoor reception to follow” but we recently i thought “meet us in the garden for the ceremony; see you inside for dinner and dancing” could work too. Nothing is particularly poetic lol.
Im having a summer wedding in Florida next year! Such a great idea, I know 🤣 we choose summer though because it was less expensive and most everything is taking place indoors. The ceremony is the only thing outdoors and were not the kind of couple to draw it out. I think I will provide fans, though :) anyone have tips on where I can find 140 fans for a good price?
Check Amazon and Etsy. You can probably order a couple to see if you like them, then bulk order. I wish I did that for my save-the-dates because they turned out much darker than I was expecting.
So thanks for the tips sadly I had to push my wedding back from December 2020 to june 2021 so lucky this helped with knowing that I'm glad that my reception is inside and my ceremony is outside but what can u put on the floor that way guests cant walk in the grass?

The reception is the longest part. So as long as your ceremony is pretty short and you provide some way for them to stay cool (like fans or bottled water), you should be good :) (I'm having an August wedding in Florida, so I feel you)

I wouldn't mind having an outdoor wedding in any other season. Honestly, I LOVE Phoenix weather every other time of the year. Fall, winter, spring? Beautiful!! Summer....? When you walk out the door, it's like you're walking into a 400 degree oven, Esp. in the middle of the summer... UGH!!
I'm currently not engaged right now. However, with this guy, I can certainly see things going in that direction for us. But, I understand where you're coming from! LOL!
Valerie Linares I’m sorry you took my comment literally. Of course NAZ is cooler than SOAZ. I was mainly being cheeky about how hot it gets down here in Tucson Yuma, and PHX. NAZ feels like it’s an entirely different state. Like CO. lol
Thanks as always! Funny, after you say "So without further ado, let's just jump right on into it" I still play your old funky intro tune in my head. 🎵🎶
Jenna S me toooooo 😂
Yaaasss I miss it, I truly preferred it
Could you do tips for a winter wedding?
Madison Alexander
Here is a couple helpful tips for winter weddings!
Don’t be shy to wear leggings or something warm under your dress. No one will see it and you’ll be so thankful you did because you’ll be nice and warm! 😊
also, make sure you get matching shawls for your bridesmaids because they’ll want to wear something to keep warm, but you want the pictures to match!
Remember to account for extra travel time Incase there is bad weather!
Have a coat check or somewhere that people can put their coats when they come inside!
Make sure you schedule your photos appropriately because the sun sets a lot earlier in winter.
Hope these tips helped. If they did feel free to head over to my channel as I post wedding tips and tricks every Wednesday 🥰
Best of luck planning your wedding!
I love these considerations, thank you! Fingers crossed our July wedding will run on schedule... We shall see :)
I live in Texas, houston area, my wedding is in May!! NO ONE talks about summer weddings in places where its a little hotter than other states. THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!
but just my ceremony is outside
Great tips! Though I'm super glad we chose October instead of spring or summer this year. Norway is doing good, so hopefully things will be okay soon!
Can you talk about "cake-and-punch" style reception or casual reception where dinner is not served?
Hi Jamie,
Thanks for your content. Can you make a video about morning weddings ?
Love from France
Ps : I watched the add 😊
Deb reaction I think she already. Think that’s how I found this page
I’ve been to a late morning/afternoon wedding, they served a legendary brunch for the meal that our family still raves about! And LOTS of mimosas
my weddings indoors in the middle of autumn but yet I am watching this! But hey still good to draw attention to things to think about for weather in general
Would love this as a series! A video for every season ❤️
Could you do one of these for every season 😇💕
Love your channel. Could you make a video regarding tips for accomdating your traveling guests?
I found a small lamp just like those lamps at Walmart. For the non-DIYers, maybe check there first.
The hair is giving me life babe!
Would love to see you do an update on your COVID thoughts for us brides that are in the fall. Specifically September.
JessiMyLynn me too!!!! September 12th 🙏🏻🙏🏻 I’ve settled for way shorter guest list and live stream ceremony
Having a Halloween day wedding, we are planning an indoor ceremony and indoor lunch but are hoping for an outdoor party/carnival..
But we know it is typically wet on Halloween in our area so we have concrete basketball court available or we might rearrange some table plans and do the party indoors if we have to
Mostly depending on the Covid-climate and how it everything plays out
Love, Love, Love your channel! You have been such a help when it comes to planning my wedding and I absolutely love how energetic and wonderful you are ! ❤️
Definitely want to see Winter wedding tips and advantages of a winter wedding!
I love your videos and they definitely make me stress a lot less in planning my wedding. Please do tips for planning a wedding for fall🥰
Ugh needed this. Our wedding was supposed to be may 2nd but pushed it to Aug 21st! Southern Ohio August is pretty warm! Outside on our lil farm!
Hoping September in Canada will be cool and covid free🤞🏼we have our wedding planned!!🤞🏼
P.S. I love your little opening clip! I know it’s not thaaaat new anymore but the little tune and clips are so cute !
Same here! Wedding is September 12th in Ontario, hoping it still goes ahead!
My wedding is next summer in Kansas. We're trying to have backup plans in case the weather turns, but definitely needed ideas for comfort! Thank you!
How much do I love you and your videos?? I'm getting married in the Fall in the mountains so this tips don't apply for me and I still sat through a 20 minute ad followed by a 4 minute ad in the middle of the video. Not tryinta brag but... super fan. Right here. 🥰🥰😋
Can you do a video about makeup? I'm greasy and wear glasses. How do I get makeup to stay all day? or when can I touch up?
I am doing dried flowers in my hair instead of artificial or fresh. :)
Omg thank you for this! My fiance and I had to postpone our wedding to next year, but are planning a small party this year. Our date is July 31st 😰
I am so glad you made this video ! We are considering moving our date to aug and these are some great tips that I wouldn’t have even thought of !
Have to disagree on instant tea/lemonade. I definitely care no matter the weather. I will definitely avoid it at all costs.
*not applicable for England 😂😂😂 more like give your guests wellies and indoor spaces!
Although that being said last summer and 2018 we had record breaking ridiculously hot and sweaty weather.
LOL we are in the UK upside is a bride in a wedding dress and wellies wielding an umbrella is one of our favourite photo ops on a wedding day
FINALLY! Love your videos, thank you so much! I'd love a part 2 of this for tips for adjusting to weather in the summer (what to do if it rains on your wedding day).
Omg please do this for every season!!
I love your channel. Please keep doing what you're doing. You always provide great tips.
Love your videos. I think it would be cool if you did a COVID wedding planning video!
ugh I love watching this channel. So kind and honest and helpful. Have an awesome day/evening!!
My vow renewal is August 1st in Alabama and this helped soooo much!! You are fabulous!!
This is helpful. I was supposed to have pretty little spring wedding but now it’s for next summer.
More please! It would be awesome if you could do the same for every season.
Love you! ❤
Can you do one for November/winter weddings? Or just all the seasons? These videos are amazing! I've been binge-watching them for days trying to get an idea of what I want. Don't even know what season to set the date in yet!
I LOVE your channel bc you answer questions that I didn't even know I had to ask!
Can you address guest attire and how to communicate your specific wishes to your guests? Love your channel!
That top is really pretty!
Also love your hair straight
Please do a destination elopement video! With coronavirus so many are looking to do that instead of a classic wedding
Could you do a winter wedding video... especially for area with snow/ice
1) Guest comfort (sunscreen, bugspray, fans)
2) Drinks (more white wine and cold beer, LOTS of water and ice)
3) Shade/AC
4) Flowers - Durable flowers that won't wilt, don't repurpose
5) Timeline - don't make people stay in the sun, consider a later timeline
6) Food - lighter fare
7) Attire - looser, lighter clothing, consider no train or veil
8) Hair/makeup - long-lasting makeup, consider an updo
9) Desserts - consider cold deserts (i.e. popsicles during cocktail hour, ice cream truck), and be careful of buttercream and bugs
I would love to see a winter wedding one as well. :)
I never knew how badly I needed this video.
Can you do a video for how to do a social distancing wedding. Now that my big ceremony with my wedding planner/coordinator was moved to January, my fiancé and I still want to get married on our original date, but we don't know how to do it! Advice on a small, quick, not too-formal wedding! Thanks!
The story about the melting cake sliding around gave me a hearty laugh
Soz friends, going to have to be hot, I can't afford to redo everything :(
Love the thumbnail McConnells ice cream, Best in SB!
After much google searching, this is what I came up with:
"The ceremony will be on the grass;
Please choose your footwear accordingly.
"
It's not very romantic or cute.
So thanks for the tips sadly I had to push my wedding back from December 2020 to june 2021 so lucky this helped with knowing that I'm glad that my reception is inside and my ceremony is outside but what can u put on the floor that way guests cant walk in the grass?
can you do a video on winter weddings?

I love her Friends reference 😂❤️
Oh lawd. Here before 450 views!
This might be a stupid question, but is water really not clean enough in the US for guests to drink? 🤔 I'm thinking in the event that you really don't have enough water, why don't you just not serve tap? It's better than dehydrating 😅
Great video. Could you do ones for the other seasons please?!
Could you do a video for winter wedding tips? Please please please
I’m getting married in December in Lake Tahoe so I could use all the advice I can get

Would love to see a video for fall since my wedding won't be in May anymore 😂
love all these videos! Wondering if you could help with tips on DIY for wedding cake alternatives ? Im desperate, My gluten allergy is causing this to be a difficult area to be budget friendly without me baking everything myself
Could you please make a winter edition? :) In a place where there is a lot of snow?

Can you do one for fall weddings!!!
Thank you so much for this! There are definitely things I did not think about! Our wedding is planned for 2021 - June in Texas.. our ceremony will be outside but reception inside! but now I am super stressed about what could go wrong. Did I make the wrong choice? Is a summer wedding really bad? Either way, thank you! I am going to take these tips because I don’t want people uncomfortable.
The reception is the longest part. So as long as your ceremony is pretty short and you provide some way for them to stay cool (like fans or bottled water), you should be good :) (I'm having an August wedding in Florida, so I feel you)
🤣 I wanted a veil for my summer wedding in June.
Would you mind doing a video for winter weddings? I’m getting married in early March of 2021 and could use all the tips I can get haha

Can you do a video about cocktail hour? I keep hearing the term and it sounds like a good idea but I don't know about the specifics.
Monica was in Barbados 😊

can you cover where to get bridesmaid dresses?
How much water would you say is the right amount of water? I'm not getting married any time soon i'm sure, but I do live in Texas so I immediately was like ! when you said that lol
My timeline will be at 5:30 pm in July
how do you plan or can you plan for rain when you are having an outdoor wedding?
