I got the 1850 pro but had to buy the waist and shoulder straps separate. All the straps and buckles are crazy. Came with no directions on how to properly set it up. Straps and buckles are hard to deal with in the cold. I’m using lone wolf sticks and stand and love the hell out of them. Use all your tactics. 2nd season being mobile and it’s the most rewarding way to hunt! Thanks for your videos, expertise, and knowledge about deer hunting in high pressure public land settings in Michigan. Hopefully we will see u back in this beautiful state!
Glad you are loving the mobile hunting! Yep the 1850 icon and suspension system was a little tricky to figure out. I had the same pack. It's a phenomenal pack!
Bought a 2300 after watching a previous video you made on them. I'm very happy with the purchase! It's the perfect size bag for turkey, bow hunting and gun hunting deer, as well as a great travel bag. Thanks for pointing the way!
I have the 2300 due to your previous vids. I have to say, the internal frame makes these packs incredibly comfortable when carrying the weight of gear, sticks and stand or saddle. I am very happy with the pack. Also worth mentioning, the waist belts are removable. Thanks!
I bought a 2300 a year or two ago after your recommendation. I love it. I also bought an 1800 on the sale they had but sent it back. They really missed the boat with the compression straps just being sewn to the bag fabric and not the frame itself or something more rigid. Between that and the length/size, they are basically useless for anything substantial. For the overall size/weight savings, I can't see me using the 1800 for anything the 2300 wouldn't do just as well and so I sent it back. I'll pick up another 2300 on their next sale too.
Yep after now having both I can honestly say the 2300 is the better option for most deer hunting needs. The 1800 may not be as good but it is 50 bucks cheaper and still an amazing hunting pack. I'm keeping it for pig hunting with tina where I have to carry all her extra crap🤣. But the 2300 is a better design for tree stand a hunting in my opinion. The 1800 is good. The 2300 is amazing.
@@SamkoTradBow The scary thing is they only show the 2300 in valo large right now on the website, looks like these new venture divide packs may replace them and they don't have the same strap flexibility as the 2300... sure hope they're not going away.
@@afarley337 I think the ventures are just out of stock from the 2 huge sales they just had. You could get the 1800 for 100 bucks and the 2300 for 150. Was huge sales

I believe they are just out of stock from the veterans day and black Friday sales. They just need to make more and restock. They ran huge sales where you could get the 1800 for 100 bucks and the 2300 for 150
I love my 2300. It's turned into a year round bag for me, as I use it not just for hunting but for travel as well. For hunting though, I've switched over to the KUIU Pro Harness system. I like the full frame as I can still haul out a boned out deer, and I prefer the 1850 bag on the frame because it's setup like the venture 1800...but I run the thicker straps directly off of the frame, not off of the bag.
Looks like I should have jumped on purchasing a 2300 sooner. I believe that they're no longer in production. The large pack is the only one I can find and I'm short, so I may be out of luck. I'm trying out my X2 pack, but I don't know if it's as good as your 2300.
What do you do to manage your straps? I hate those strap keepers as much as you do, but my Mystery Ranch pack has about 2 feet more strap than what’s needed. Not as bad on my Kuiu Venture 1800.
I just let them hang unless it's a strap I don't use often like the sleeping pad holder straps on the bottom. Those I use a strap keeper on because I never use those.
I have the 2300. It’s awesome for my saddle hunting set up as I can simply tighten my sticks down in the back and keep my stand inside. Did you see there new divide pack? That looks interesting as well.
The divide doesn't have the compression straps to put sticks and stands on if I remeber correctly. Once I glanced and saw those missing I immediately dismissed it for my needs.
Have you packed out a deer or pig with either? I hunt in APL mtn’s and breakdown deer and pack them out. Would either stand up to two or three meat hauls a year?
the 2300 would easy. its built tougher with tougher materials. A trick to help aid packing out big deer in it is to bring a pillow case as an extra game bag. Any meat that doesnt fit inside the pack you can throw in the pillow case and swing it over your shoulder and carry it like a santa sack.
Thanks for reply. I have the mystery ranch pop up 28 (1,800) and KUIU 2,300 pro (6,000 bag for backcountry hunts). External frame packs work great for hauling meat but are a lot heavier and have big profiles in the tree. Was thinking about the 1,800 for my mobile saddle hunting setup if it could handle a few meat hauls per year less than a mile mostly. Love the channel!
I been needing a new pack for a mile walk in medium gear jacket and pants. I love the way this look been looking at it and the 3000. From what I understand kuiu and sitka are close to the same. Would you think that 2300 would be big enough for heavy jacket and pants warming layers ? I can sent you a extra box of strap keepers if you like them. Lol jk they do suck especially at dark messing with them.
The 1800 is not on kuiu website currently. Only Valo on the 2300. I see the new Venture divides 2000 & 3000. I look forward to seeing some reviews on the new packs...
The 1800 and 2300 have not come.back in stock fully yet due to the huge couple sales they have had selling them out. The divides lack the front compression straps needed for how I carry my sticks and stands so I will probably never try those. Hope they never stop selling the 2300 or I will buy 5 of them so I'm set for life..lol

The 1800 is an excellent hunting pack. The 2300 has some advantages for carrying sticks and stands. But with the lower price and very similar features the 1800 is an excellent pack for an excellent price from an excellent company. I love both of these packs.
