i like this remix so much. its the first 1989 MTV video version. not sure why the record company cut it short in between for this celebration album. the full version is hot. theres other songs on the celebration album that should Have been edited, like holiday, over 6 minutes, really?!

Right? I hear you. I'll never understand that Celebration album for the life of me. This version of Express Yourself is awful. WAY too chopped up. They could've just put the video remix version of Express Yourself on (or even the radio remix from 1989) - both are normal lengths. Holiday should just be the album edit or the You Can Dance edit. Frozen should be the edit too.

This song is about encouraging anyone who wants a GOOD man to insist on your personal value and insist that the man values you enough that he practices vulnerability and DECLARES his attraction regardless of the consequences. Born this Way is about accepting and valuing yourself no matter what your sexual orientation or gender identity are. Two different things people. Sure they sound similar, but they're about different things entirely.

Does anyone know if this version was available on vinyl in the early 90s? I have the Immaculate Collection and Like A Prayer and both album versions are slightly different. I especially love the intro on this version.
