Hello and welcome to the next Age of Wonders 4 series! Thanks to everyone who participated in the poll, the new series will be Morrigan from Dragon Age: Origins/Inquisition with the Barbarian Culture at her command. Morrigan's focus is going to be on the Bestial side of the Nature tome, which is already off to an amazing start at 52:16 and 1:15:52, with some Astral support. The Witch of the Wilds is back on Brutal difficulty with the goal of enacting her own magical victory and bringing about the Age of Nature. She's off to a good start with a convincing battle against the Phoenix at 1:16:25 and the recovered Silver Wonder encounter at 1:39:56. I hope you're as excited as I am for Barbarian time and thanks for watching!
@@Fableheim Yeah every scout bring something different. Feudal have reduce upkeep, High can see further, Dark see further when inside another empire zone and have 2 types of camouflage, barbarian can drop outpost for 100 gold, mystic are mages and have pass through and industrious is a decent unit in combat/move faster underground and can prospect
@@myrmyllan2073 Industrious scouts are so OP. They can prospect above and below ground. Get a good range of mountains and you'll be right as raom. I had 3 scouts prospecting and my Leader was fully kitted out in gear by turn 15, and a bone wyvern mount to boot. All the prospecting paid for several of my buildings in my capital. it's a lot of micro, but so well worth it.
Yay! I've been so excited to watch a new series for this great game with more of your colourful commentary to add to the experience. For example, seeing the return of your close friend/mortal enemy Blint in the video. His settling of an outpost near your city was a predictable instigation to an early war with him. I love the added context for the fights that are soon to come against him; it makes everything so much more fun. Speaking of which, I absolutely love the idea that Morrigan learned the spell "Power Word: Reload" to replay battles, with a strict once per day cooldown to casting it. 4X strategy games are so much more enjoyable when you can retry battles - or even entire turns - with different tactics, and improve your skills. Just keep the same quick commentary on what went wrong the first time, and with that information presented at the outset the new battle is even more exciting and meaningful for your viewers.
To answer your question about mounted Furies, yes if you select a mount as your racial body trait the Furies will start out on a mount. Spider Furies are an absoute nightmare for the AI to contend with. Web follwed by 3 shots is super OP. With multiple furies you can melt early game AI armies. If you get the seeker arrows from the materium Enchantment tome it gives +1 range to both your arrows and your webs. It's diabolical. Since Barbs don't have regular access to cavalry, normally when I play my spider barbs I'll dip into the order tomes to pick up tyrant knights, who you guessed it, will also be mounted on spiders. Add in your animal kinship, and pack leader on your heroes and you've created a nigh unstoppable death ball of web spittng primal rage. :)
My guess would be that Iratus would make a sassy remark, the Stranger would give him absolutely no reaction, and then they would both stand there in silence observing the portal to who knows where. XD
Fablehiem, I want you to know I have almost NO interest in this game. But I have found you and been watching simplely because of how well you tell it all as a story and your voice. Loving the content man.
I think builds that use spawnkin probably benefit the most from the Tenacious trait which reduces the penalties from losing models. I may have the name confused with the one that makes retaliation attacks hit harder but I know the trait exists lol
Ohhh, that makes a lot of sense. I've avoided Spawnkin because of how hilarious the proportions can become, but that's a great idea for future synergies -- thanks! (:
I love these character series of yours. What do you think about doing a high civilization with double order and industry? Like a city of heavenly fire and steel?
(On Spawnkin) Listening to potato mcwhiskey, he points out that although you have more figures to be killed, the damage loss becomes more of a curve, or gradient, instead of stairs like if you only have a few figures in that unit. 10% loss per figure instead of 25% per figure, just to toss out random numbers.
So skirmishes are a really solid tier one unit capable of both ranged and me'lee attacks and with the right buffs are capable of punching above their tier. As for the barbarian ritual bonus that restores movement points, this can be really strong with well spaced outposts allowing for quite rapid redeployment.
I'm a big fan of the Sunderers already! I haven't figured out how to do the ritual yet, but it's something I'll try to inspect next time -- thanks for the pro tip! (:
Just fyi, You dont have to put anything in the "last name" field. Its enough to fill out first name, title and race. last name can be empty (the field will show "lastname" but you can leave it like that and you will only be addressed with the first name. There are no instances where only the last name is used for anything ingame. So you wont run into any weird flavor texts either). TLDR: Only Firstname, Title, Racename have to be filled. Lastname can stay empty.
Loving the concept\story behind this run. As a barbarian, don't underestimate a swarm of sunderers. Their ranged attack sundering armor stacks up to 5 times, then hit it as hard as you can. It's a fantastic tactic. Also, because you're going hard nature this run and going to get there soon, I wanted to tell you about an exploit with the Wild Expansion perk. It summons a random animal everytime you claim a province, it's really good, but it also summons an animal when you transfer a province between cities. Everytime you transfer between cities. Wanted you to know so you can either exploit this or avoid it as you see fit.
Thanks for the letting me know about the exploit! I tend to avoid the upgrades that spawn random units from thin air, mostly to protect my upkeep, but I might at least show it off if I have the Imperium.
You should do a playthrough as the Qunari civilization. Your holy Arishok will come and bring order and happiness via control to Ferelden and the world over through conquest and blood. ;)
That could be fun. I'm not entirely sure how I would make the Qunari "race" without Demonkin, which is the only way I'm aware of to get horns. I could always just pull a Sten. XD
While the Stranger was able to stop the necrotic alliance from calling forth an Age of Shadows upon the world, he was unable to heal the damage brought by Iratus's dark magiks. Now both the material and astral planes of the world are in a chaotic flux as they attempt to heal naturally but will that be enough? Will Morrigan, a witch of the wylds and a stranger from another world, become the unlikely hero by casting the Age of Nature? The wheel of fate continues to spin in the next epoch in this new age of wonders. Also I'm fairly certain Deathcasting only procs if it's your units die which will make conflict with the other empires more interesting.
Ooo, I'll be using that if we can get the Magical Victory ball rolling -- thanks for the great idea! I believe you are correct on the Deathcasting! I was watching it in editing and noticed that so I'm now mildly afraid of how slaughtering waves of Brutal AI units will backfire. XD
You could have attacked the coffins yourself and spawn the skeletons. That way you don't have to deal with the skeletons and undead dragons at the same time.
A good choice! I think that pairs especially well with Chosen Destroyers, but you can get quite creative if you lean in to its old god essence being Urthemiel, the Tevinter god of Beauty.
I actually will be using this :) I replicated 'The Stranger' and holy crap lol, insane. I have the mod that adds more tomes, and funny enough, there is a Tome for Witchcraft. I'll be using the Witchcraft, Beast, and some Astral one ;D
I thought about using the modded Tomes but I'm still too afraid that a patch will drop and break something, since this series will probably run for 2-3 weeks. I hope it's as fun as I think it is!
Morrigan and Fenris are my two favorite Dragon Age characters too! *internet high five* I think third place is either Sandal or Lady of the Forest. ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
@@Fableheim high five. Too bad no allied victory for blint. Grimgor fine soft kinda permanently 🤣 as long if you didn't remake him. Ohh btw using fashion mod I think you can create ruler pretty close to Morrigan
I don't know if the world could withstand a soft Grimgor so I might have to remake him some day, unless he becomes a new meme. XD Ooo, I'll have to look in to it! I'm down to use mods for any series that would be shorter but I'm too afraid to use them for a series that'll take weeks to finish, at least while patches are still frequently rolling out/being discussed.
