Jon, my mom has metal lounge chairs outside that started to pool water in the legs and started leaking thick slurry of rust that stained the tiles outside. I did 2 sprays of Bilt Hamber Korisol and it lit up deep purple so fast and it removed the staining. I also disposed of the chairs after but it was good fun putting BH to the test, and was so satisfying seeing it light up deep purple proving BH supremacy once again.

The only thing with these fallout removers for wheels is they will wreck the silver coating on new brake callipers and bolts leading to premature rusting

Dude I know you probably have 10x the experience I have but please don't use any acid based wheel cleaners. If its not PH neutral mate bin it, I refurb wheels for a living and that bit of grime/tar can come off with a toothbrush and the redline pH neutral solution. Or the iron and I think its called tar remover dude. The amount of wheels which have either delaminated or the lacquer/clear coat has failed and been eroded by acid then you get water inside and it corrodes the alloy and bubbles the paint thus needing either edge and spoke work or full strip and refurbishment which will be in the region of £80 per wheel and upp depending on which company does the work. Just trying to give you my experience mate, love your work and very very thorough explanations which I rather enjoy

    • @ForensicDetailing

That's through mis use or over use. Acids are sometimes required. But for regular cleaning a mild alkaline surfactant us best.

Nice review Jon 👌 they look like good products for sure. Think i’d prefer the non-foaming version personally, seems like you’d get through the foaming one real quick…I must be mad but you said the Autglym product was £11 for 500ml so £16.50/liter - is that not £22 per liter?

I must be missing something with these wheel cleaners, they just seem to be a very very expensive way to clean your wheels when soap and water, a dedicated sponge and a wheel woolie would do exactly the same thing, at least as far as the end look goes. If you need to use scrubbing brushes and elbow grease anyway I just can't see any advantage to spending your hard earned money on these products, not to mention spraying chemicals all over the place.

I personally find Turtle wax products a load of crap…blown out of proportion marketing. Their ceramic wax sprays were all hyped for 6 months protection. Rubbish. Lucky if you got 2-3m. Their 75th wax is pure rubbish. Smear butter on the car and it would give better protection. This so called pro line is just a cash cow thing. Don’t waste your time. Buy Bilt Hamber products and you know for sure they work, they do the job and they won’t burn a hole in your pocket.

I would really have liked it if you had applied the RAPID-DECON to the rim you cleaned with Hyper Foam to see how much it turned pink and to see if it removed the stuck on break dust/fallout. Lucky for me I have both products, have only just used the Hyper Foam for the 1st time yesterday and it done an amazing job, really did clean the tires but the rims took a lot of agitation to remove all of it. I have not tried the Rapid-decon yet, was saving it for the paint decon. The Hybrid Solutions Graphene Acrylic Tire Shine Spray Coating I LOVE this stuff! Not only is it an amazing tire dressing that last MONTHS, you can use it on the plastic trim to restore and protect it for MONTHS.

I do like a long video, its what attracted me to the channel in the first place. Looking forward to the glass cleaner comparison. That looks a good wheel cleaner and i would have probably tried it if like years ago i got my car cleaning stuff from Halfords, and i didn't clean my car that often. My go to wheel cleaner was the Bilt Hamber then tried the Gtechniq, was exactly the same price and performance but also had a corrosion inhibitor. I now use the Koch Chemie reactive wheel cleaner that says has a glossing agents. It cleans as well as the BH and G but costs considerably less. I recently paid £73 for 10L so £7.30 a litre compared to £12 for BH and G if you buy 5 litres.

Does anyone need to use wheel cleaner so much though? I mean they are basically fall out removers. I personally use surfex HD and then go over the alloys with auto wheels to remove any ingrained tar and brake dust afterwards every few months. Otherwise it’s very expensive to use wheel cleaners consistently.

I've notice, mostly on old leather, it helps to spray from the bottom up. That way, the diluted spray doesn't run down over the untreated area and protect it from the stronger fresher spray. You get a more even clean.

Awesome reviews. I too wish It came in gallon sizes and both worked exactly as you described. If they were in gallon sizes, would use them at the shop. TW ceramic graphene tire protectant has been on my tires for three weeks so far and I am impressed. The wax was nice but too much effort for something that didn't last three months here in California. The Hybrid Ceramic spray is still the best, easy to use and easily lasts three plus months. Their new soap is what I am really interested in to use and find out if it is as good as my Bilt Hamber. I'll know later this week. The window spray and interior spray are also excellent, but again I won't be using them because they are not available in bulk. I am telling my clients to use them. Our USD price is $8-$10 for 750ml or 23 oz. So it is very complain price and sign it cheaper than Bilt Hamber. It is all about shipping and customs, i.e. taxes.

Hiya Jon, great review. My two pence worth is that the "big boys" Autoglym, Turtle Wax, Maguires etc are going down the easy to use all in one type products. They have their place dont get me wrong. Having just moved away from Autoglym, I have found other products just as good if not better all be it getting two products to do the job. I think they work on the quick Sunday wash type senerio and not to your typical enthusiasts/ weekend warrior who have a little more time and money to hand. Someone will probably disagree though!!!!

Great video Jon. Enjoyed the comparisons.
But do leave the camera on the tripod whilst cleaning 😉 (gosh I'm dizzy now 😄 !). Cheers.

Around 7 quid per litre if purchased in gallon size in the US for the foaming version.

Perhaps wearing eye protection particularly when stabbing about with that glorified bog brush would be sensible

Might be a faft question, but would it make much of a difference if the Pro had a foam spray nozzle? And which type of nozzle do you prefer for this style of product?

Love the content, been watching awhile. But gotta ask, when are you going to invest in a decent lapel mic? It would greatly improve your voice audio and attract more viewers compared to the garage echo chamber

Might just buy the foaming wheel cleaner purely for the tyre cleaning property's just to see how well it works, I could see you we're shocked at how well the tyres browned up,but how clean was they !!

Really fair review from a brand that's been around for years - If I'm honest, my favourite fall out. Is red 7 from autosmart or xtraxt from autoraechem

I noticed the purple spray colour whilst watching AMMO and his wheel cleaner and I’d agree with you.

if you scrubbed that much with normal car soap the wheels will be clean anyway. all these wheel cleaners are a con job. you always need to scrub no matter what.

Best fallout remover I’ve used so far is gotta be purple rain by Autobrite. Got some AutoGlanz stuff knocking around but not tried it yet

That’s not a wheel cleaner for someone that cleans his car regularly. You can go through a bottle in less than two washes and there are better wheel cleaners out there.

Good vid. I would use Pinky just for the tires and the other for the wheels. Win Win ??

Nice review Jon. Which of these two products would you think is suitable for matte black wheels? Or any other product?
