Dynaudio is softer and more laidback, better for everyday casual listening. On the other hand Atalante 3 sounds like a home studio monitor. I heard it live and I can confirm that the soft dome tweeter sounds metallic and gritty. It reminds me the Epos ES14N.
I have the Evoke 20 and Atalante 3 in my home. They are both great speakers, but the Atalante 3 tweeter is truly incredible. I don't think there is a speaker in its price range that can match it.
Can´t say one sounds better than the other. I believe in this group the three of them sound great. At this level it´s all a matter of taste. I would probably go for the sound of the Revival. Aesthetic wise would go with the Dynaudi minimalist look. Any of the three would be a great choice.
Three of my favourite loudspeaker brands, and if I had to buy commercial speakers (i've been building transmission line speakers since 1991), I'd take either of them. Totem for clarity, Revival for bass, which is somewhat of a given, considering it's a tiny bit bigger than the Totem and Dynaudio's.
Super comparison! Totem have magic! Good timbre representation, the sound range is cut from one cloth. The Dynaudio have a disturbing resonance in the vocal range - makes me focus on the speaker - not the music. There is a good mid/woofer engine in the Revival Atalante but crossover to the tweeter requires more refinement - a few dB too hot. This reminds me of lesser Wharfedale - Sandy, the Aging Boston Audiophile.
Dynaudio sounds the cleanest, IMO, but perhaps with a little less top end. Revival sounds just a touch gritty but more revealing. The metallic sound of the Totem tweeter might keep me away from that particular model. For long-term listening, I think I'd mostly enjoy the Dynaudio.
This is one of the few sound demos where I didn't prefer the Evoke 20's over all the others. The Totems are pretty good but don't sound quite as rich and natural as the Adelantes or the warmer Dyns. To me the Adelantes combine enough warmth and richness with a more defined and open presence region than the Evokes. They bring the music to life in a way that bests the Totems and beats the Evokes in some ways. Nice demo. Thanks.
To my ears: the Revival has the best treble response; the Dynaudio has a tad more mid-bass body and warmth; the Totem sounds dull by comparison to either. I would rank them as 1) Dynaudio Evoke 20 with the best balance; 2) Revival Atalante 3 with the best cabinet and treble response; 3) Totem Signature as a distant third but fine speaker. It should be noted that Revival was started by ex-Dynaudio employees who definitely "took" some intellectual property out the door, one way or another. If the Atalante is their first attempt at a speaker, I look forward to what they do next.
I would rate them 1.Revival 2.Dynaudio 3Totem. The Revivals are more open and transparent than the other two without being overly bright or fatiguing. The Revivals sound less like listening to a speaker. I don't hear much family resemblance between the Revivals and the Dynaudios.
for my taste , (difficult to say from a you tube video) the revival sounds more like music , more natural, and a bit more recessed in the precense region maybe ?! I kinda like it, Found dynaudio unbalaced relative to revival and totem, totem is also very good, but ultimately the revival audio speakers sound more coherent to me, more of a voice .
Nice test. Good microphone 👍. There are close and all hi-end. Depending of the way someone like to hear the music. Its another what is close to natural sound and what I like. So for me most pleasant sound is Revival - dynaudio - totem. What is play most close to natural is dynaudio -totem , revival.
Atalante 3, Dynaudio Evoke 20, Totem Signature...in that order. Atalante 3 has more body and soul, Dynaudio emphasizes leading edges and Totems lack warmth, body and substance. I don't see why Totem commands such a high price tag. Atalante has got to be the bargain of the century. I heard price increases are imminent as they can't keep anything in stock.
@@hifihousebymsound6631 Iv'e owned the Moonriver for over 3 years and have paired it with many different speakers. So I think my opinion should matter as well.
I had the same amplifier on loan a few years ago. Although this is a really superb amplifier with an open sound, detailed but smooth, it struggles to control the bass of less efficient speakers like Dynaudio, even the Emit M20, wich were the speakers i had at the time. If it wasn´t for that, i would keep the Moonriver 404, because this amplifier is stellar.
@@NawMan357 Give me a break, dude. I've used the 404 with a lot of different speakers over the 4 years I've had it. I also owned a pair of Totem Forest speakers in the past. I certain that the those Totems are a tough load for the Moonriver to handle properly and they will not sound their best with that amp. That's my experience and my opinion. You are welcome to have a different opinion.
IMHO, the Revival has the best overall sound, better treble, more presence, dynamics and bass, the Totem is not bad but a weak bass response is not helping and the Dynaudio is the "darker" of them all, you can barely hear the cymbals, less dynamic but it all depends in your listening taste!
Good review and consistent with what I have heard in having both the Evoke 20 and Atalante 3 in my home. Both are great speakers and the strength of the Evoke 20 is how good it sounds with a wide variety of music and is never fatiguing. However if you prefer more detail retrieval, speed and larger soundstage then the Atalante is for you. To me it's the best I've heard for conveying what a live musical performance sounds like.
I don't know if the comparison was fair and db level the same, but Atalante 3 is the clear winner, Dynaudio is OK and Totem sounds horrible. And I have more expensive Dynaudios at home.
Revival sounds best it think! Wonderful!! Very involving!
Thanks😊
@@hifihousebymsound6631what do you think since you hear them live?
ทั้ง3รุ่นนี้ ผมชอบเสียงRevival Atalante3 ที่สุดครับเสียงมีมิติใส รายละเอียดชิ้นดลตรีมาเต็ม
Totem sound so sweet and clear.
Totem was outstanding.
Totem....j'adore 🎉😊😢

I use hegel h390 with atalante 5 on a daily basis but I had the opportunity to listen to evoke 20 with naim uniti nova live and I was impressed.
Wow This revival audio is in another level
wonder how the Totem Model One Signatures would stack up today
Personally, I recommend listening to the Musical Fidelity MS 6i set and the Opera Callas loudspeakers.
My personal favorite is Revival.
Thanks😊
Atalante 3 very good sound👌

ส่วนตัวชอบtotemครับพี่เอ็ม
ครับพี่😊
เป็นรีวิวที่ยอดเยี่ยมครับ
ขอบคุณมากครับพี่
the Dynaudio is the most complete sounding speaker [body, detail retrieval] and the REVIVAL AUDIO comes 2nd [IMHO]
What this video does not convey is how much larger the soundstage of the Atalante 3 is compared to the Evoke 20 and how much quicker it is.
I have only budget for the Emit20 😢 what do you recommend in this price range ?
Revival Sprint3
1. Atalante 2. Totem 3. Dynaudio
Thanks😊
In real life 1 totem 2nd dyns and 3rd atalante ;)
The best is Revival.

I love when the title is in English and the language of the video is something similar to Chinese.
Revival simply sounds more "live" and out of the box compared to the other speakers.
Dynaudio has warmth
Totem for me 🔥

Doesn't the Totem have a Dynaudio bass/mid driver?
Looks exactly like that - I thought they will not sell drivers anymore?
No
I think the result can be different following the room.
Atalante best
😊
Revival by far.
. Totem, 2. Dynaudio. 3 Revival. Low-end sounds to boomy with Revival.
1-Atalante 2-Totem 3-Dynaudio to my ears..
Dynaudio special forty ?
Evoke20
The winner is Totem
😊 thank
Hi @hifihousebymsound6631 Did you try how the atalante compares to Special Forty or Heritage special? Thks
Thank you for your comment.
What Int. Amp are they using? MoonRiver?
Yes
Revivals are a nobrainer in this comparison.
With the right amp, the Totem maybe would knock the other two out of the park.
Atalante
Thanks😊

Dynaudio for me
dynaudio for me neutral good balanced sound. not too mutch bringht. revival can tire for a long time.

Totem ยืนหนึ่งในใจเสมอ :)

Please add in Harbeth P3
The Moonriver can't power the Dynaudios and especially the Totems properly. They both need more power. The Revival is the easiest to drive.
which I have listened to and tested by actual use, MOONRIVER has enough power for many brands of speakers that I have many. Thank you very much 😊

litle bit Totem
😊
It's Totem to me.
Atalante 3 is my choice.
Thanks😊
Revival absolut better . Revival vs Dynaudio Special forty is will be interesting
Thanks😊
dynaudio best
Atalante the Best
Thanks😊
Revival 👍
Totem all the way
Superior vocals and bass on Revival, I don't like Dynaudio, the Totems are cold.
Dynaudio has better midrange but revival in the whole is more appeal
Dynaudio know how to make good loud speakers but don't know how to make good speakers
Dynaudio best, Totem the worst for me.
All these small speakers sound like a tin can. Only a big speaker has the fundament to sound realistic.
The world speaks ENGLISH. Maybe you could take classes.
I don't know if the comparison was fair and db level the same, but Atalante 3 is the clear winner, Dynaudio is OK and Totem sounds horrible. And I have more expensive Dynaudios at home.
ชอบเสียงกลาง Totem ครับ สด เปิดกว่าคู่อื่น แต่ Revival ให้เบสดีกว่าครับ เสียงเดินเบสชัดกว่า อิ่มกว่า ลงได้ลึก
