Thank you for sharing Aaron! Coming from BMX racing this was the biggest adjustment I had to make to riding the big bike. You said it spot on with the calf fatigue and feeling balanced. I noticed the benefits as well with cornering and being able to push in more. Thank you again!
Thank you so much Aaron for covering this topic. I was already running the cleat exactly like you do by instinct, far back and with a slight angle towards the inside, but I needed some kind of confirmation this was a good way to go. Your videos are packed with great info. Best regards
This video couldn’t have come on a better time!! I have been looking for a video showing what the pros use since I’m switching to cleats! Thanks man! A lot of great info! Hope you come out with a travel video for Lourdes!!
Thanks Aaron for the video. Using the five ten and x2 pedals for some time now. With no shim very hard to get in and out, with tension to the lowest. I put in one plastic shim, and grooves were building, but still not really smooth, always takes time to clip back in. Tried with 2 plastic shims today, it’s smooth but the cleat is far out so walking on the cleats a lot. Should I try the Giro Chamber?
I’ve been trying to convert. I love them everywhere except for cornering. I lose all my confidence. I also come from motocross background and am used to sticking a leg out. Time I guess, thanks!
I just got a set of Shimano Saint's yesterday, my first set of clips. I have to say, I really do not like them. My feet don't seem to be touching the platform part of the pedal at all. It feels like my shoes are just floating around on the clip part of the pedal. There's no way I can ride with these. Unfortunately I don't have the money to just try different pedals and shoes so I am going to have to just go back to flats.
a question from me: someday in the past, I setup my cleat equally on both right & left (somewhere on the middle) on my shimano ME700. idk why I felt it's different, uneven feeling between both. I felt my left foothold rather backward than my right one. so I adjusted the left one to give an even feeling for both. is it correct? or it's just my feeling? thx
Ya you could measure just to confirm the shoe slots are cut out the same. Could be an inconsistency in the shoe. Might also be your foot length right to left, ankle/knee mobility etc. Hard to say but whatever you feel is even is probably best for starters so I wouldn't over think it too much.
I’m switching from flats and this was EXTREMELY helpful. Thank you 🙏🏼
Aaron, thanks for going in-depth on your thought process! most videos like this just gloss over the basics.
Recently moved my cleats all the way back as well. Decreases the leverage on your foot and my knees feel great
I love your peace of mind in conveying the content
Thank you for covering this. I always felt like I was doing something wrong during setup. Good to know even the pros have to use trial and error too.
Awesome info Aaron. Thanks again for all the tips. My daughter and I watch all of them.
Thank you so much for taking the time to explain all of this dude! Golden info

Thanks for the info/tips, I've been struggling with clipping in & out my pedals

For your HT X2s, why have you run the older style backplates and cleats for the past few years?
I agreed with wide pedals with cleats I feel planted. Shimano I don’t feel secured.
Another hot tip is once you have the cleat where you want it is to put a drop of blue locktite on the threads to make sure they don't move.
Awesome
Hi aaron. What do you thing about crankbrothers pedals (mallet), did you rode them amd if yes how do they feel? Thanks!

I agree with that thing that. If there was no pins. It slides. Po i switch to flat shoes. Cause i was being afraid. 😆😆

@@GwinnerTube noted, thank you aaron. I will go on with this setup & find some other shoes to start experimenting as you said.
hey friend! good video and thanks for sharing🙋 happy weekend #ivan_mtb
Are you going to sea otter
I'll love a video about setting the pins in a pair of flats
It's better long, short, concave??
