- In this video, I'll be installing a Z28 Hood Vent on a 5th Camaro SS. This is a modification that a strongly recommend that you do to your Camaro (SS/RS) whether it's a Z/28 style or aftermarket. Not only does it serve as a performance enhancing mod but it also gives a far more aggressive appearance.

Also, a major bonus in this mod I discovered in reading up on them, the vent changes the down force on the car. It is a design they add to newer rear engine vet and other race cars, giving you a aerodynamic advantage. Position is crucial, opening that area on the hood even with and in front of struts towers. So the location of the vent is very important. I am adding one later to my ride. Thanks for the post, makes me feel a little more confident. LOL

It's not just a z28 hood insert. That insert comes on all 14-15 SS and z28 models but not zl1.

Am i crazy for wanting to put this on my 2006 mustang gt? I've been looking at all the trackspec options and really wanted something that looked more factory. Plus the trackspec vents are stupid expensive compared to this.
is the GM part a better quality plastic? looks different than the amazon option. Can you give me a rough dimension of the cut opening?
Zl1 and 1le come with that hood stock why not just buy one with the heat vents built in already
At the time, money. I'm not sure if the 14-15 hoods fit on the 2010-2013 accurately. There's apparently fitment issues.
@@gvaspirated they fit but like a ZL1 the lines don’t match the 10-13 hood to fascia lines.

I’m thinking about getting one but how does it do in the rain ? Do you have to cover it or will the rain mess it up ?
I’ve had no cover for YEARS. Not sure if it was the right way to go. Just to be safe, you should get the tray. But I’m a testimonial that if you have none, it won’t be as bad.
