The thing with Ren's pre Hi Ren stuff is it's all him and friends. They weren't making much if anything but (like this one) his friends are dressing up and wandering town, singing, dancing, whatever... you can just feel them having fun.
Sam is a beast behind the camera! Ren said in a live a few months back, that until they did Money Game 3. Every video was done with under a 1000 pound budget, friends, creativity and allegedly some moonlight asset re-allocation 😏
This one was shot by Luke Flegg and Ren.
"Asset relocation "
😂
If you take this song as a fun & hilarious homage to the Beastie Boys or old school rap. For a certain age the nostalgia on this song is crazy. Don’t know how it doesn’t make you smile!! I love this one!!!
I'm 48 and this song brings me back. It's familiar, but new. It's amazing. I'm a huge Beasties fan.
Nah fam, this is 100% homage to the Beasties. Highest of compliments.
The old school DJs are still killin' it, don't worry! I work at a music festival every summer and we have had Jazzy Jeff at one of our stages three or four times over the years and the dance floor is always packed! I love your reactions, thanks for the fun!
The video was done by Ren and Luke Flegg 😘❤❤
You can see Luke walking backward in an overhead 360 shot in the skate park.
It sounds like beastie boys. I would jam it in my car, i think you have to know the original to appreciate this song. The video is awesome but i rock the song - he hit on a lot of the 90s i love it
This is for sure my favourite reaction from you. Ren like you appreciates what went before. Absolutely love your insights and your passion. Ren for sure appreciates your reactions.
Your mind is a beautiful place, and I appreciate the peek behind the curtain every now and then.
I bump this song, The Hunger, and Wicked Ways in the car all the time!!
This is such a killer rwist on Beasies. Brilliant.🙌🌟🎶
I really enjoyed what you said about being an artist!
Great reaction, and I appreciate you putting on your rap historian hat. I like listening to this song while commuting on the train (along with Power, Humble, Ocean, Murderer and others). I need a bit of fun to wake me up and get me in a good mood. It probably helps that my first purchased rap album was late 80s Beastie Boys. You asked this a while ago, but I was never into rap. With a handful of exceptions (stuff like Cyprus Hill, Kris Kross, A Tribe Called Quest, Diggable Planets, Rage Against the Machine, Eminem, Linkin Park, etc.), my Discman was usually playing alternative/punk/rock/House or electronic dance music, etc. I Ii55rtttt8i I i8m
Ren said somewhere that he conceptualizes music videos while he’s writing the songs. So listening to a Ren track without watching its accompanying video would be an incomplete experience.
KSO as always.. love your perspective… this was just fun 🙏✌️
I'm pretty sure this is a Sam video. Sam does a lot if not most of Ren's videos (he was the one driving in the Power video). This is 100% a nod to the Beastie Boys. The blonde guy in the video is Vik, who did the Down On the Beat track with Ren (I think that's one of the songs you didn't love). I appreciate your love and knowledge of the history of hip hop. I generally learn something when I watch your reactions.
Often it is mentioned in the descripton of the video. This time by Luke Flegg and Ren.
@@A-fn4pq Yeah I was being lazy and not going back to look. Thanks for the clarification!
Oh for fucks sake, I was alive back when carboard was the hot commodity. I can get into some trouble these days explaining VHS, the kid with the parents with porn, and all that shit.... But this toon is a great throwback to being an almost man in the 80's. The birthplace of hip hop isn't black, it's the projects.
Please could you do Blind Eyed The Angry Car Park Attendant version…really think you would enjoy him & Sam out having fun❤. Thanks for another great non sugar coated reaction. Respect!
Showing you some💕👍🦇
❤❤❤🔥🔥🔥
Loved this reaction❤
This one is just hella fun. 🎉
I dig music history. Important. Ty for your reaction 🎶
ive been waitin for this one. another great reaction ma dude
Love the comparison of playing super heroes, to getting together to make music. Cool reaction
Looking forward to you reacting to Chinchilla - Cut You Off!
DJ Rectangle, DJ Shadow, and DJ Qbert are great too
You still missed the end of the video- out takes😂😂
Ren 'seven sins'
Money game 3 + what you want + power were by Sam the same guy come on kso
Same video team then as now - they all improvised, beg borrow and steal…..
alright 'bigs' ...gd reation...can u hit ' seven sins'....id like to watch ur reaction to that ..🎤⬇️✌
❤
Adam Sandler?!? He had his moments but on the level of the Beasties??? ehhh I mean if you see him in that light hey, it's your world and that's just you. But man I don't see it. Don't get me wrong He's funny now, that's kinda like saying Kevin Heart is as cool as Prince or Lil Wayne or Snoop. Maybe as rich and famous, but as cool? maaan.
Solid React though I dig your insights on music and 98% I'm with you 100%. But Idk bout the Adam Sandler cool statement, thats a bit suspect... Lol
This is totally Ren's, let's just have fun and not the deep messages to his other videos. It's not really story driven, it's just for nostalgia.
9:21 he said he’s into tattooed emo goth chicks
Ren won’t spend more than £1,000 on a video… 🤷♀️
I can't take a reactor seriously if he does ZERO research into ANYTHING about the artist he "reacts" to, and then totally disrespects his viewers, by NEVER responding to their comments or even liking any of them.
I'm done with this, occasionally funny reactor.
