I watched this with my 15 year old daughter who is totally involved with FNAF, she loves it and I thought it was okay… the best part was her realizing that the bad guy was Matthew Lillard that she had seen as Stu in Scream and didn’t recognize him lol
My 10 old daughter HOUNDED me for this, and I got heads up from people at work, so we watched it opening weekend. It was allright. I played the first 3 games but yo, it was great to watch my daughters have a great time. And for once I've watched a movie before the Elvis review.
I love how you can feel this generational gap in the comment alone. How the kid is super into FNAF compared to someone who seems to be more into Scream. Love seeing the future of humanity sharing what we loved when we were younger.
Fun fact there were plenty of darker scenes in this movie, but unfortunately got cut out of the movie because of movie ratings like, for instance, there was apparently going to be a scene where Vanessa as a child, would look at a dark room and hear screams of children as you can faintly see William Afton killing them
Did I hear PG-13? You know the rating that people wanted? They could've though had if they found a way to make it gruesome without getting hit with a R rating.
I think this movie was definitely meant to purposefully leave heaps of possibilities and doors open for the second film. My biggest wish for the second film is that they dive into the 80s more with William afton (and show more of his relationship with vanessa) if it’s a sequal (which it most likely will be) they could definitely use heaps of flashbacks.
Not to mention that some people have a level of control over their dreams. Mike explains that he uses the poster as well as the nature sounds to induce the dream. The pills aren't to affect the dream, but just to help him sleep in general.
@AMV_KINGDOM_mv fr like I thought the characters were ery human, like the stuff ab Vanessa she was traumatised by her dad and was terrified by her father a literal child murderer. I liked the characters alot tbh
It's 10 years though, not a few months. PTSD is obviously a real and serious thing, but he didn't say it wasn't real or serious. He just said it's unrealistic for the character in the movie to behave and dream like that for a decade while still retaining every detail over that whole time period. The script could have been better if they put more thought into the motivations behind the main character instead of relying on a repeated dream sequence.
Great review as always, but one critique is that we actually do know what happened to garret. He was killed by afton. That's it. Like not in a way that tied him to any of the animatronics, but apparently just as a murder in general. We know this because when we see the photo of Vanessa as a kid, she's holding garrets plane, presumably given to her by William as a gift. Then, when he's being attacked by afton, he says that he will kill him like he killed his brother.
Also, it would make more sense for Garret to be in the puppet animatronic and Mike's dad to represent Henry as that's the only way Aston would target garret people hate on the fan movie for one reasonable reason it wasn't a horror movie as it wasn't supposed to be it was a movie for the fans and most other things they say just make them sound dumb even though with other movies and TV shows they sound like they know what they are talking about
@@kadenhorrocks7182 Yeah, there are a few puzzle pieces to link what we already know in the games with what we see in the movie. Such as Garret being THE first one to get killed, particularly in an incident involving a car (Just like Charlotte), or the credits of the movie having 2 references to FNaF 2, the Puppet's music box, alongside the distorted voice spelling out words letter by letter. Specifically "Come find me", as if that message is directed towards not just the audience, but also Mike. At the very least, it's confirmed that Garret died, and *maybe* those hints are just red herrings to point the viewers in the wrong direction.
To keep it short: It was an okay movie. Way too mild to be a good FNAF or horror movie BUT those costumes and location are amazing! I would give it a 6/10
Only my own personal take, but I'm not really digging the 'older Elvis' dancing man that keeps popping up. I just find it annoying and it kinda takes away from the videos just a little bit for me. It feels like an unnecessary addition to the more recent videos.
Imma be honest even as a fan of the game, it was just alright for me. Felt a little rushed, and plenty of suspenseful moments missed for me. Still kinda fun to watch.
Even as a diehard fnaf fan this is the BEST review I’ve seen over the movie. Compliments what it does right and doesn’t sugarcoat the genuine flaws. Hats off👑👑
I'm pretty sure that the scene with the hand reaching out of the animatronic's mouth is a reference to multiple fan-made creepy-pasta videos, most notably "audio_recognition.mp4 [FNaF/VHS]" which still gives me chills every time I revisit it. It's a great concept when it's the ghostly-pale hand of a murder victim who believes that they can still be rescued, but when it's a fleshy hand belonging to a giggling child with murderous intent... yeah, I agree that it's corny.
@@user-ve3zs4nv8h That's fair, the kids could have conflicting feelings that cause them to lash out violently or crave sadistic entertainment even if they're ultimately victims. As you said, the suits could also have personalities that combined with theirs. When I said "believe they can be rescued", I more so meant that they hated hurting people and wanted to be saved from their curse; that they were reaching their hands out as one would if they were trapped under rubble after an earthquake. I also tend to view them as spirits who grew up in animatronic suits rather than being perpetually adolescent. Generally speaking, I've always enjoyed the more tragic implications of the FNAF story more than it's horror and thrills, and even though I haven't seen the movie it seems that Scott and Blumhouse didn't want to go in that direction; probably because it would be depressing.
The only other evidence that Steve raglan noticed about Mike was if you look at the car there was no license plate which means Garrets kidnapping was premeditated but it could have also been a detail that Mike missed and isn’t featured in his dreams. Edit: Thank you’ll so much for the likes!
The main reason he relives that scene over and over is that he believes he DID see the license plate and the information is therefore somewhere in his head. It's pretty likely that the car in fact did not even have one, which makes it even sadder.
What I thought would be intersting is.. William kidnapped garret as revenge.. but that plane actually belonged to Venessa. Implying that henry might have kidnapped some of williams kids… and William was doing the same out of revenge. Makes things way more complicated. Hahah.. but thought it would be even more f up if garrets plane actaully was always Venessa’s,or.. Venessa’s youngest brother that was killed by the bite.
8/10 They should've not have wasted William's Afton catch phrase in the first movie. Granted that everyone was aware of it, but a new watcher wouldn't understand it
It's worth noting that when William first read Mike's name he stuttered at the last name and had a noticeable pause. I think there's for sure more to him than just a random security guard
I understood that to be he knew Garret’s last name was Schmidt. Cause he says ‘First I killed your brother, now I get to kill you’ later in the movie. So when he sees Schmidt, he realizes Garret was Mike’s brother.
@@meghanmacdonald7758 I still think theres more to it than a random kill. Why would William travel all the way to Nebraska to kill one child. Theres surely a deeper reason. I think Mike and Garetts father is Henry Emily
I always thought Schmidt is just a fake name henry Emily used for his kids and himself after he ran away from William. Mike is 100% williams son.. but i think his memories are distorted.. i think this lore.. henry Emily kidnapped mike as retaliation..
The theory is that his brother is the puppet and Mike's father is a stand in for Henry Emily. They're definitely getting a sequel, so it's a safe play to leave questions
@@Exel3nce the song became massive. A good chunk of people probably heard it not knowing what the hell FNAF was and got into it because of it. And we probably wouldn't have so many good FNAF songs if we never got that one it was responsible for them blowing up in popularity and becoming more mainstream.
As a person with a childhood trauma I gotta say that it can be very realistic to have the same vivid dream for nights and nights on end, Elvis.. It's unpleasant to say the least, especially when you wake up from it, finally manage to go back to sleep and the shit starts anew. So far no pills have helped with it either.
It wasn't an 87% because it was a great movie. It's an 87% because it hit every visual marker it needed to. It looked SO good. Everything made it look and feel like Fnaf come to life. The story, on the other hand, was a bit rough.
i think the cop character really brought the story down. her showing up for multiple nights didnt make sense. her getting involved in mikes personal life after only knowing him for a few hours was too pushy and mike never pushed back. they could have made mike say he let her be weird and confusing and pushy with him bc shes a cop or something. if some lady showed up on my first? second? night at a job id have politely asked her to leave so i could do my job. they truly tried to make her seem like a good person underneath all the deaths she caused with her father but thats not a good person thats an annoying cop.
Lol facts it's like the msheu thing where the male lead is actually a co lead and the woman is the main lead while adding nothing to the plot, added in changes for shock factor, which failed miserably, and gave her the final 1v1 against afton. This was crazy I was hyped for the movie but it's just low tier to mid at best. Definitely over hyped. Knowhere as good as it could have been. Makes me wonder if she's gonna become e vanny and take over for afton at the end of trilogy or she is gonna be in coma till 3rd movie and come save the day. I hope they add to her character and make her interesting if they keep her. Gonna need more actual horror in the next ones. I think personally that the games got dark asf and the movies need to do the same. He'll make em 3 hours tops if possible. This movie was long and short asf at the same time. 4/10 for me but hope it gets better I got faith.
My thoughts exactly. Honestly 99% of my criticisms of the film disappear if Vanessa's character just... wasn't in it. The actress was great, she was cast perfectly - its just that the character genuinely served no purpose but to be a generic female lead who somehow knows all the exposition and does the whole horror trope "You gotta get out of here but I'm not gonna tell you why because spooky!" She didn't singlehandedly wreck the film for me, still enjoyed it, but it would have improved massively without that extra character is all I'm saying.
Yeah, and one minute she’s building a fort and giggling with his sister, the next she’s yelling at him and telling him she’ll shoot him if he brings his sister there. Huh? Was there a missing scene? Is she bipolar?
Why is Vanessa, a character that is in game 8, in the first movie? They portray Mike as a stupid, violent, unhinged loser. They portray Vanessa as a bossy miss-know-it-all (Aka a Mary Sue). She has to show up and explain everything because Mike (and the audience) can't figure anything out for themselves. Only Vanessa is smart...she knows the backstory of the pizzeria and how to control the animatronics. It's very annoying and she should not even be in the first movie as in the actual games she is a very minor character that doesn't come in until way later.
To explain a bit better for the people in this reply section, this lore is completely different than the games. Similar to spider man and there being multiple universes. As for Vanessa, she’s a stand in for the Afton kids. They’re trying to keep the story simple by combining characters. As for her being a “marry sue” um… no??? She literally gets stabbed lol. She’s an established character in the games and serves an actual purpose in the movie. She’s used to her father’s shit and is basically used to people like Mike but when she meets him and his family she actually wants to help but can’t because her dad will LITERALLY kill her.💀so she drops hints to him.
Regarding the films story and themes, Scott played a major part in the films story development. The books also don’t match the games (exactly), but themes and characters carry over in different ways in this franchise than in most. Scott sometimes gives a 1-to-1 character a completely different name or design based on how he wants his message conveyed, so it not following the video games 1 for 1 is pretty on point for how the story has been told in this series.
I think Garret will be a lot more important in the 2nd movie, thats already in pre-production. Scott said in a twitter post that he will listen to fan and critics and probably makes the 2nd one scarier. A lot of Plot that happens in the 1st movie will probably be explained in the 2nd. And Vanesaa got Brainwashed by William Afton, to do things she does not want to do. And also, i always come back is a iconic Line of William Afton, because he always does come back. Its just one of the most known and iconic voice lines in the franchise
I think the only reason William recognized Mike's last name is because his business partner is Henry (who is Mike's dad in this timeline). William had contempt for Henry which is why he killed Henry's youngest son Garrett, who is presumably the replacement for Charlotte (the first kid to ever be murdered by William, also Henry's daughter)
I think FNAF would make for a cool setting for a mystery movie or a detective story, where someone investigates the events at the Fazbear locations while the company is trying cover it all up.
Personally, I think alot of issues with the movie could've been solved with a longer runtime, then they would have more room to develop Vanessa, William, and Garrett and allow them to explore more of the games story
You know, mikes brother could have been stuffed into a balloon boy suit, and is using a mini balloon boy figurine to try to comunicate to his brother. It would expalin a lot.
well matthew lillard signed on for three movies so i think they already wrote three movies into an arc with the lore they wanted to involve…like maybe they didn’t fully write three movies yet but i think they know they are doing for the three movies it that makes sense…so I wouldn’t be surprised if they had already made plans for the second one so they could pop out one every year around Halloween? it’s also blumhouse who love low budget horror 😂 but i think there’s a good chance the second movie will delve into the backstory with the pizzeria and William Afton, Garrett, the puppet, and a bunch of other stuff, so I’m really interested to see what they do
I do think it was funny that the people meant to destroy the place came in during the day.. how would that get the night guard fired? He wasn't there..
They'd think he'd forgotten to lock up. I'm sure if even a regular employee closed up for the night and it got vandalized, that employee might take the blame, unless proven that the vandal found another way inside.
I don't think the criticism of Mike still being grief stricken was all that fair, he explains in the movie that he also lost his parents because they couldn't get over the grief. He has a difficult time supporting himself and his sister because he basically has no family left except his crazy aunt. I don't think this movie was perfect or anything but for what it was I thought they did a good job. This movie is way more entertaining than most horror movies coming out today, and better written. The set was great, the animatronics were practical, and I honestly thought Josh Hutcherson did a great job, he really sold his character well and his passion made me like Mike a lot more than I think I would have if someone else took the reins. The plot has its issues but I was really drawn in by Mike as a character and I think the movie would've been way better if it focused on him more. The fort scene was stupid and Vanessa made no sense but I don't think these parts of the the movie made it unbearable to watch. I think that the movie would've felt way more solid if it didn't try to pander so much to children, like I was 11 when the first game came out and I never really figured that the robots were really INTELLIGENT y'know, like possessed sure but I figured that they just acted violently because they were in a more base form, like unintelligent robots with unbridled rage or something. These robots though lose all their mystery and intrigue when they build that stupid fort, and after that scene this movie loses all of its steam and just goes down hill. If this movie had more serious moments like more character development for Mike and his sister, and moments that were similar to the games with cryptic storytelling I think it could've been a great movie, but I think my mental rating is like a 65 -70 (I kind of liked it sue me). Should've been rated R but that would never happen.
Yeah. I wish they catered towards the older FNAF fans who grew up with the games and had just made a gore-fest hard horror movie. Removing the FNAF aspect of the movie, I would classify it as a horror entrance, which is mainly for kids just getting into the horror genre. It was cute, and I think I liked it a bit more than Elvis, but overall I agree with him that it was mid, and agreed with all the things he said were stupid about the movie. Anyway, if I could change one thing about the movie, keeping it PG13, then I'd just take out the dream part of it. Something about seeing the dead kids faces and having them speak casually ruined the mood. That or I'd blur their faces, dehumanizing them in sense and in turn making them moreso connected to their animatic selves, plus it would have been creepy.
I don't think gore is what the movie needed tbh. I think the movie could've easily been scarier even without it, but I don't think they were even trying to be. A lot of that is just the inconsistent tone, I don't mind the fort scene but a scene like that should be in the beginning of the movie when the stakes are low and not when we've already seen them kill people. They never tried to play into the claustrophobia or the setting for the horror. There's a scene where they trash the place and I was thinking to myself ok they're upping the stakes now he has to survive in the pizzeria but there's broken glass everywhere and it's all messed up but he cleans it up immediately and the scene right after completely deescalated any tension they built up to that point.
FNAF isn't that kind of franchise. Scott never intended for FNAF to be super gory and violent (no matter what the VHS tapes do) and I don't know why people are expecting the movie to be that.
My biggest wishes for Fnaf would have been if they leaned into more of the slasher elements of the movie. Of the whole movie, we get 2 sequences (both incredibly short) of the animatronics and Afton actually posing a threat. The sequences where they were just messing around with the animatronics felt quite dumb and the dream sequences were useless. I wish Matthew Lillard was given more room to shine. He's a great actor with long and early ties to horror in Scream and Scoobie Doo. After I learned that the Ghostface and Springtrap now share the same actors, it made me want a Scream-like chase sequence near the end where Michael and William actually duke it out, nodding to the Fnaf franchise with plenty of jumpscares, and towards Scream with more than just him wiping the knife, maybe add a couple of classic Stu quotes to bring a bit of comedic relief to the chase sequence
True, but there's a potential issue with that: The animatronics can't show themselves to be a threat too early otherwise Mike (and any other reasonable person) would quit the job immediately, unlike in the games where the player coming back each night doesn't have to be logically explained. However, I agree that there should have been more sequences with the animatronics being creepy and threatening. I loved the sequence with the vandals. FNAF always thrived more on atmosphere and creepiness than jumpscares (the jumpscares tended to be just a punishment following a tense moment), which I think that sequence demonstrated perfectly. Perhaps they could have extended the last night in the pizzeria to include more hiding from the animatronics and stuff like that. I think there are a lot of scenes that ended up getting cut (I find it hard to believe they didn't even TRY including a Toreador March or Freddy laugh moment) so maybe that has something to do with it.
@@Dankmemes76122 omfg just because people don't like or are questioning a point someone made DOESN'T mean they're not allowed to have that point ffs. Stop being a child
I 100% agree. If they had used the actual lore it would've been a hell of alot better. The OG story is really fucked up and cool, scott accidentally wrote some really cool narritive beats
I disagree with that personally. It’s very hard for people to agree on the lore, like if Elizabeth died first or Evan, if Evan is even named Evan, things like that. It would piss some people off and confuse most other people. Doing their own story with their own established rules is the best they could’ve done imo
@@whitefang2312 Scott wrote the lore. He could've at least made something definite. Its not like this was a fanmade project. The basic idea of the children being murdered and the older brother attempting to rectify his mistakes all those years ago is commonly accepted
@@plexyglass429 Scott also wrote many FNAF books which don't follow game lore. This movie was just doing that same thing. I believe the idea was to make a cohesive story that could be enjoyed by anyone, even if they didn't play the games, while keeping the game lore ambiguous like it always has been.
@@whitefang2312scott wrote the lore, if people don't like the story well they could stop being a fan as I say if you make your own story and like it well keep on going with it.
@@whitefang2312 The lore back then with the first three games tried to stay grounded and it was pretty good, although it was still very loosely connected. Nowadays though, it makes no sense.
Thank you, it's literally what i was saying about the movie fron the second the credits rolled I was genuinely dumbfounded at how many people liked it without a second thought
I stopped playing the games after the 4th one because I was too old for it, and at that point in time the internet decided it was cringe to play the games. When the movie was finally guaranteed to happen and the trailer dropped; I decided to visit my childhood and watch it. I had fun, I've always been a fan of practical effects over digital and the best part was easily the animatronics themselves. And yeah, Springtrap's scene was great; 14 yr old me would never have guessed that I'd ever see the Springlock scene in live action, on the big screen. I wouldn't give the movie a 10/10, but I had a good time and I enjoyed the highlights of the movie.

If I could change anything about the movie I would say a couple more jumpscares, be a little bit more horror, but for the fort building scene it shows that the animatronics aren't mindless killing machines, just twisted souls that never really had a chance at living their lives. Would it have been better without it? Possibly but it shoes the nature of them not being killing machines.
Is he british? Like was that a actual in game thing or just something in the books because i swear I've never heard him be called british. Unless his last name is british and people assume he would have a accent.
@@matijasostojic4288 People don't assume, he quite literally has an accent. It's a game thing, I guess. The first thing I can think to point you to is the intro to the intro to Sister Location where William is explaining all the things Circus Baby can do.
I mean it ain't too far off if William naturalised as an American and lost the accent. That happens for anyone that immigrates to the USA. (Though the film makes no mention of Afton's British background)
Not only would that not happen because of the franchise (although my word stuff like The Man in Room 1280 and Springtrap MPreg exist in books aimed at kids) but also because many horror movies tend to be PG13 to be able to get a bigger audience.
Except you don’t need to be R rated to be scary. If you think something is only scary if it has a bunch of gore in it then you have a really shallow view on horror. Hell, the original 4 FNAF games did fine without any gore. All that it needed was a good atmosphere, jump scares, and disturbing topics
When Afton says, I always come back, that's his signature line that started back in the FNAF 3 trailer. Also he doesn't actually die in the movie either, just like in the games, he barely clings onto life in the suit for thirty years until the events of FNAF 3. While it was goofy to actually see, it is faithful to the games.
I love your content, man. I've stumbled upon your channel via the people ruin everything series and would constantly binge your work, alongside the videos that covered drama. You got even better with your movie reviews, and in general, had a great evolution in content. While i dont end up binging your work as much because of less free time, i still enjoy it whenever a new video pops up on my homepage. Keep it up, you're dope
I absolutely can say that they were killed because they were wrecking things. Just like in real life with your home when someone walks into your house and start wrecking things you respond immediately which is what happened with the group. However, the security guard was more like an uninvited house guest who won’t leave. You’ll try to get him out non-violently but if he keeps coming back or won’t leave you’ll eventually escalate things.
If you're looking for an actual horror fnaf experience, check out the fnaf vhs videos, they're terrifying. So something of note, Mike Schmitt in the games is actually Mike going back to the pizzerias in an attempt to free his brother's spirit (his intentions is still highly debated). Another thing, the families are inversed. So in the games and books The Afton family has three kids and the Emilys (Afton's business' partner) have one. In the movie Afton has 1 child and the Emilys have three. That's why Mike isn't exactly the same Mike from the games. It wasn't Freddy took Abby to the restaurant, it was Golden Freddy who can teleport for...reasons. The reason Garret isn't in the movie is because he'll most likely be in the next movie. The only dead child associated with a car is the puppet, who also was revealed in the second game. IMO Vanessa and the child custody stuff was lame or just badly handled, but the movie was fun.
The reason he had the same dream was because he was forcing himself to and took pills he thought if he did he could remember a plate or a face that would show him who took his brother
Man fr was like "how he having the same dream every night?" Despite that being one of the major plot points of the movie and explained like 3 different times 💀
I think having Vanessa be related to Afton was a not so good writing choice considering Afton only had one daughter in the lore and she died at a young age. I also just hated Vanessa's writing for her dialogue in general *shrug* I hope that this testing the waters first movie leads us to some really great sequels
@@realestsienna I believe that's the case, yeah, but unfortunately I haven't read them cuz ive heard they aren't the greatest. That's my own goofy fault lol
I mean, a lot of people think Garret IS in one of the animatronics, just not one that's in this location, which would be why they don't show up in the dream sequences
As a horror movie it should have been a lot scarier. I'm surprised that they did very little with the camera thing from the first FNAF game and have the animatronics move towards the office with Mike having to survive. Also I found the movie to be too long.
Although the execution is mid, I’m fond of the fact that the FNAF Movie tried to do its own thing while mixing up elements of very significant parts of the medias -Mike could’ve have had more extensions to him as a character like more natural buildup of him believing the hauntings and why he chooses to have his dream Hopefully some of problems of the first movie get addressed in the second movie like what happened Garret who is most likely going to be the Puppet 10:55 Did he watch the Bang of 87’ memes
I remember watching this in theatres and the majority of the audience were actually teenagers and they surprisingly knew a lot about the lore and were completely geeking out at all the Easter eggs and references. (Kept murmuring to each other when they noticed them.) I was quite shocked never would've thought so many teenagers would've gotten into a game that came out like 9 years ago. It was quite enjoyable seeing how into it they were more than me actually and I've been following the games and lore since it first dropped. They went crazy when they say Matpats cameo but didn't know who Cory was 😅 and even shouted out" WAS THAT THE BITE OF 87 "when Mike's babysitter was chomped by Freddy
I was so disappointed that on Mike's first day, I was waiting for phone guy to call him but instead he watches some old VHS tape. Really let me down :(
So one thing about the movie I think you glossed over is the part about how Mike has the same dream every night and you claimed that it isn't realistic because nobody has the same dream every night. But in the beginning it shows him reading a book about the practice of dreamscaping and shows him listening to forest sounds. He talks to the cop lady about how he uses "familiar sounds" and sleeping pills to help him get to the same dream every night. Those are called dream anchors and also some people use totems. Familiar items and sounds to make the brain more aware and have more control of the dream and it has very real science behind it. As someone who used to practice lucid dreaming I could have any dream I wanted any night I wanted as I was in full control. I did it for years. Your critiques of the mocie are mostly valid, ive never played FNAF and thought the movie was pretty average. It was decent, worth a watch.. but I just wanted to point out that the one particular critique you had about the dream sequences was inaccurate.
yeah and "i always come back" basically became his catchphrase after fnaf 3 so its weird elvis seemed to have no knowledge of that line and just thought it was dumb dialogue.
I would like to know how does he know that? Did it happen to him before??? He hasn’t became springtrap yet and has no knowledge he’s immortal. That’s just dumb dude.
I enjoyed the movie a lot, but i think what i enjoyed most about it is the open questions that we were left with. Theorising is a lot of fun and it made me go down the whole FNAF rabbithole once again. I'm really excited about whats to come, but if i'd just rate the movie itself, it would probably be a 7/10 for me. Lets hope for more horror, all in all i'm pretty excited to see whats next.
As someone who has experienced trauma decades ago, It NEVER goes away. At least not without some serious help, which most people can’t get here or afford. Also, what is a Matt Patt?
He didn't say trauma goes away but having the same dream every night for several years is unlikely. I've got PTSD and I've had bad dreams with similar events but playing out the exact same way? Is not likely.
One thing I can say for certain is that those who think the movie is 10/10 are just in a delusion to make themselves believe the movie is attending to all expectations and is everything they wanted, which is not true
they waited so long for a fnaf film there in denial of there anything beign wrong with it, that's why they keep getting butthurt whenever anyone complained about the red eyes
the most insane thing is watching these people complain that the fnaf movie was "left out" of the game awards nominations for videogame adaptation, then watch them go "it's probably because it came out too late" "yeah surely they'll make up for it and put it in next year" like... sorry but no
I am not a huge fan, I took my friend to the cinema to watch it together and we pleasantly enjoyed it, my only complaint was that it felt like they played it a bit too safe on the gore and the scares, like holy shit did they hold back on everything which could have worked in this films favor. All in all, I'm just glad that it didn't become a trainwreck.
I very much enjoyed this movie. The one part that drove me nuts is what happened with the Aunt’s body after they stopped Afton???? She’s just chilling on the floor in his house when they get back. Like, someone is going to look for her and the last place she was known to be is Mike’s house, a man who is known to hate her and is trying to keep custody of his sister. He would be suspect #1. I wish they had instead wrote it as she was knocked out, and when she woke up the next morning they just told her she ate something bad and passed out or something. They kind of just gloss over her death in the scene at the end where they’re eating breakfast lol
I wouldn't be surprised if golden freddy moved her body and cleaned up (we know the cleanup can be pretty good based off them only leaving a little blood after killing multiple people) when he disappeared from beside abby. And abby was totally willing to have her out of their lives, so lied to mike that she left early which is why she got the cab to come visit him. Mike would have called and left an angry voicemail since she wouldn't pick up, kind of like how he called the babysitter multiple times not knowing she was dead, then gone on with their lives thinking she maybe gave up trying to get abby. A missing persons report wouldn't happen for a bit since it was telegraphed that she likely lives alone and has only been seen with people she pays to have around her, so there's no one to immediately call out her disappearance.
I think the critics underrated it, so the fandom took it upon themselves to counteract the critics so they overrate it. The same happened with Super Mario.
@@sebastianmireles6163 im pretty sure of this movie dont be called fnaf, and dont have fnaf characters, no one would watch the movie, this movie os kinda morbius from the video game movies
4:27 Remember, the entirety of the script for this movie was either created or signed off on by Scott. Since you didn't play any games past 4 or read any of the books/novels, you might not know it, but Scott has created alternate timelines and continuities for pretty much every new medium. The 3D games (help wanted through ruin)? Different continuity (at least slightly). The novels? Completely different timeline. The goosebumps-style books? Almost all of the short stories are not directly canon, set in a world where names/events are different, but still related to the original story. So the movie having a different story from the games is par for the course for Scott.
as a fan i found the film kind of disappointing its mainly because of the source material changes, we don't get to see mike in the office trying to defend himself from the animatronics and the office itself doesn't even resemble the one from the game. also while not outright comfirmed, its heavily implied in the games that mike and michael are the same person and it really makes me wonder why the movie didn't went with that, it would have given mike a bigger connection to both freddy's and the antagonist. the animatronics lack the threatening and creepy presence they have in the games and before anyone uses the "there possessed by kids excuse" in case you forgotten there possessed by kids in the games too but that didn't stop them from being scary, i didn't really like that they become so friendly early on it really took away the suspense, that fort building scene felt like an unintentional middle finger to anyone who was hoping this was gonna be a genuine horror film. and vanessa is afton's daughter? yeah okay i guess were just gonna ignore his 3 actual children from the games. some might think this is nitpicking but this is just how i feel if you like it that perfectly fine but personally this isn't what i wanted from a fnaf film, it lacks the scary tone of the games and feels more like a horror comedy, though i guess that should have been expected since after 4th game the franchises started to tone tone down the creepiness most likely out of fear of scaring away the younger fans i honestly prefer some of the fanmade fnaf films over this cause while not perfect i feel like they did a better job capturing the tone of the games.
I agree with you. Let me give you an analogy...if you look at Star Wars...they gave us 2 whole movies just telling Anakin's story...so by the time he is locked into the Darth Vader suit it's really emotional because we knew who Anakin was...and now we see him become the villain Darth Vader... it's actually the most intense scene in Star Wars. In the FNAF movie we meet a career counselor and then they spend the rest of the movie on other things and people...then career counselor gets locked in the suit. The majority of the first movie should have told Afton's story and laid out the basics of him, Henry, their families and the death of kids in the pizza place. For those who are not FNAF fans...they know nothing of Afton by the time he is locked into the suit. Terrible story telling when you compare it to the brilliance of George Lucas. And Afton is their villain...they decided to just skip over his story for characters we don't care about...Vanessa, the aunt for example. That's very frustrating that they didn't want to spend any time on their most important character.
The lore part - I think that everyone involved with the story production and Scott himself as well agreed that the movies should exist in their own seperate timeline to the games and books so they only keep some of the more major plot points and characters. As far as the protagonist being Mike, I disagree with the notion that he is "just the fnaf 1 security guard" as even in the actual lore it's implied that Mike Schmidt was possibly Michael Afton. In case of the movies though there are clear hints dropped that Mike isn't just a random security guard given a backstory, but he could possibly be a son of Henry Emily as the events that transpire are very similar to the books, which this movie used as inspiration. William kills Henry's child, who by some small hints dropped in the movie could be the puppet, Henry's relationship goes into turmoil, his wife dies (in the movie I guess she leaves) Henry goes insane with grief, creating a sentient doll animatronic who in this case could possibly be Abby as it would explain her seeing the spirits of the children as she herself is a manifestation of remnant and how she was born while supposedly Henry's marriage was falling apart. The only character I would outwardly question would be Vanessa being William's daughter but it could possibly explain events of Help Wanted and SB further down the movie timeline.
Great video as always! I didn't agree with you on everything, but you were very fair, and I can't complain about that. I do have one small thing I wanna say, which is that when "Freddy" shows up to get Abby from the house, that's actually Golden Freddy, who is, as usual, a quantum being, for whatever reason. A lot of people seemed to miss that, even fans like a few of my friends, so I do think that they should've made him a little more yellow, just so we understood. Upon watching the end of the video, I also want to say that I think the movie would have been better if the kids changed Mike's dreams to be in the pizzeria, leading him to be confused and angry at them like he was, and we got to see a bit more of the history of the pizzeria through these dreams, with the last one taking place back in the field, where they offer Mike the deal again.
They really should have made him more yellow. Clearly the freakin Sans eye isn't enough to differentiate him from Freddy if we have to keep telling people. 💀
I think the original point of the movie was pure fanservice and maybe rebooting the story of the series. Fnaf jumpscares became not scary a long time ago so nobody expected it to be scary and the series was known for it's dark lore rather than gore. Purely for the fans rather than being a good film (also the development hell for the movie). I definitely agree with you with your story criticisms tho.
I really love the editing on this! I usually listen to your vids while working, but for this one I kept it to actually watch, so I wouldn't miss any funny or cool editing.
Elvis: i was sad to learn that this wasn't the Micheal who killed his brother but the security guard st the first five nights at Freddy's game! Fans: ... Should we tell him? Other fans: *No* let him leave in peace!
Honestly that was my favourite part of fnaf's story. The son that may have caused his father to become a monster, trying to atone for them both. Both walking corpses (you could easily leave out the scooping though), he wants to find him and end all they've caused. Not to mention the Henry speech. But when the first movie is just "Ghost children can't remember own murder for some reason and a random drawing on a wall dictates ther complete obedience", it leaves some red flags for the story as a whole.
Pretty much the only criticism of yours that I 100% agree with and yelled "THANK YOU!" at my screen over was "Vanessa sucks but the film wants us to think she's a morally good person for some reason." Vanessa genuinely didn't even need to be in the film. As a character she just doesn't quite fit, and the majority of annoying chatacter tropes (character who knows all the lore about the monster for no reason, character who wont tell you why the heck its dangerous but instead insists on being vague and spooky instead of actually helpful, etc) were used on her. She's a weird hybrid of "exposition giver" and "idk we need a female lead" and just ends up feeling out of place and bringing the flow of the story to a grind. Even presenting her as more morally grey like her actual game counterpart would have justified her character a little more (sequel stuff, maybe) but as she is right now, I just can't stand the "I am 100% capable of helping but I just don't because something something daddy issues." No shade to the actress though, she did a great job and was perfectly cast to mimic the in game Vanessa. Just think the character was utilized poorly
Every actor in the movie did a great job...the movie has no bad acting in it. They did their jobs. The problem is in the writing of the story and editing if they removed stuff fans would have loved to give us the boring stuff and building the fort which was just dumb. Vanessa first appears in Security Breach which I believe is game 8. She doesn't belong in the first movie and maybe could have shown up in the third movie. Definitely put in there to be the bossy "Mary Sue"...
The spring lock trap quote “I always come back” was used for the fans :) it’s probably the most remembered Springtrap quote we have! I was so happy when they used it!
A lot of plot holes that are mentioned by many most likely be answered in the second and third movies. Due to the success of the first and Lillard signing something that doses something that leads to a three movie deal so we will see more installments.
I was a big fan of FNAF as a teenager and I also thought it was mid. There were a lot of unanswered questions and story choices I just didn’t enjoy. I loved Josh Hutcherson and Matthew Lillard in their roles tho, and the animatronics looked amazing
I thought the movie did its best to appeal to both die-hard fans and FNAF newcomers. I've watched playthroughs of the games and don't consider myself a die-hard, but I don't regret spending the money to see it.
Yeah, that's the number one problem I have with this film....no true scares. The second being little backstory about FNAF/Bite of 87. This film should have taken place 97% of the time at Freddy's and 3% day time. Hopefully they can do better with a sequel.
Ermm... Actually, Michael Afton and Michael Schmidt are the same person, he just uses his mother's maiden name when he applies for the job at Freddy Fazbear's Pizzeria to avoid attention by having the same last name as a local serial killer 🤓🤓🤓🤓
I think this is a concrete way to describe the movie. I've been a fan of the games and lore since the first game came out and have been deep into the lore since then. I'm pretty sure it was discussed that the films were going to be a combo of the games and books to create its own storyline/lore, but still trying to be faithful to the OG content. As a movie itself, I gave it a 7-7.5/10. Movie has its flaws, including the jumpscares. But I think that's gonna change once they start on the second movie. But, not too much cause they said that the movies are going to stay PG-13, and with Security Breach coming out and being toned down from its predecessors, they're trying to take newer fans, who have the potential to be younger than pre-teens, into consideration. Unfortunate, but understandable. Hopefully they don't make the Ballon Boy gag throughout the trilogy, but overall, Elvis pointed out things that makes sense for a 7-7.5/10 rating, but also things that could make a non-fan, or even some hardcore fans, give a rating of 6-6.5/10, which is okay too. Mid shouldn't be something that describe something as inherently bad.
It was really touching for me personally, the whole journey movie included meant a lot to me, but I can admit that it’s not the greatest thing ever. But it’s a love letter to this whole insane journey and that’s beautiful. I’m glad it’s encouraging people to check out the games. I liked the dream stuff too it felt appropriate as Scott had dreams about the first game while making it. Although I do think Grant should’ve been one of the possessing kids.
Fun fact: The FNAF movie supposedly was made to be *Rated R* and the original script for the movie did actually contain some gore scenes one of which is "1st nightguard's face ripped open by an unseen animatronic, then he were lures onto the _torture suits_ + flesh and blood spew out as spinning blades grinds the night guard's face" (intro) So, they're rethinking their decision of the initially _Rated R_ FNAF movie and make it rated Pg 13 to make it more accessible to everyone In the end, they had to retake some of the scenes in order to keep it under Pg 13 guidelines
Here r my ideas to improve the movie & "review" of it: After first dream, Mike wakes up in the first night to see Bonnie gone, later Chica disappears too (He'd wake up in 2 or 3 A.M.) After one of dream things, u could see eyes of spirits turn black & black tears (Like in minigames & that bad movie jumpscare) for a short moment before Mike wakes up confused Well, combining night 3 & 4 would feel too rushed, imagine truly seeing these robots up close only to see them building forts later Also during night 4, Mike could tell Vanessa that animatronics smell bad, it's called - FORESHADOWING (for Night 5 plot twist) It'd be cool if in night 2 of fnaf movie, it'd be simular to classic fnaf 1 stuff, but all 4 animatronics would try to hunt down Mike, it'd be like in Onaf - Each hour is harder than it's previous one It'd make sense for it not to happen in night 5, as the animatronics knew what to expect & while Mike's sleeping, Foxy came from left & put him in that torture mechanism & Mike would need to get out It'd show animatronics as smart, like they don't fall for the same stuff & do things differently or smth Scratch that! Freddy is fast & has no hook as one hand, so he should be the one to make Mike to torture device in night 5 Funny, isn't it? All Freddy related bots are the ones which lead to death of 2 people Abby knew & almost killed her brother I wish fnaf movie was actually scary, i don't really understand how William uses drawings to control. That custody sub plot also ended kinda badly. Nobody acknowledges death of Aunt Jane, Mike doesn't even know that he was betrayed by her Now here's not actual review: I found "It's me" refference when during one scene in office where everything was glitching I don't mind William having little screentime. He's supposed to be mysterious villain anyway. Tbh blood not leaking from Spring bonnie suit is kinda realistic. I like how at the end, Matthew made him sound intentionally worse cuz of the pain William endures. His final speech was cheesy but i liked it. I feel like it'd be better if animatronics shoved Spring Bonnie mask on his face, instead of him doing so. But maybe it's connected to William sort of narcissism. William took his pain like a champ & didn't gave pleasure to his previous victims as seeing him suffer. Ngl, William had some sort of charm in this movie I like how animatronics dragged him. It looked cool He also mentioned some owner, which means that Henry might appear in sequel My take is a hot one: I hate game fnaf lore, Henry was introduced too late in the story & i prefer One Night at Flumpty's trilogy anyway (Flumpty is my fav fnaf related character) I hope in sequel we get the reason to why PG killed those kids, like it'd be explained by Henry, no worries, i don't want Henry to just be exposition dump. Ngl, i like pure evil villains In Puss in Boots 2, i prefer Jack Horner over Death I just think that killing kids is a huge deal & we should know why he did that. Also Vanessa being William's daughter makes me interested in their background Ok, William aside I dunno, it's weird to me that whe these filler villains entered pizzeria after Mike left, and it happend after 6 A.M. but Animatronics were still like hostile. But i guess it was some sort of change too. Which makes things even more dangerous (Or was that a thing that William made them do) Overall, i hate all fnaf games aside from 4, HW, SB DLC was mid & i dunno how to feel abt fnaf 1, i had good mood & expectations before watching it & everything was even better than i expected, refferences were great but the actual reasons why i like this movie were characters, how Mike's plot was connected to main story, i like how everything was answered, this movie made me smile a lot while i was watching (I rarely smile) so i hope i wasn't looking weird near some small girl who was sitting near me & saying some lore related stuff to her parents Wen i heard living tombstone song, i started to quietly sing it to myself Overall this movie was like 7/10 I like how devious Spring Bonnie looked with eyebrows in movie intro Major flaw of this movie that it isn't scary. My fav charactet is either Mike or William Tbh i like these presense William had by adding drawings of yellow rabbit. Imagine being a regular guy, seeing these drawings as smth adorable, like his smile looked weird but kids do mistakes while drawing right? But once u find out the twist, u see this sadistic monster, pure evil, sh1thead with his grin. Ngl, William kinda appears randomly, but i liked it... it was unexpected. I liked how his first action trying to mentally f2ck up Mike & just kill him there This movie made me feel tense for character, i felt worried for Abby cuz i thought that Chica would kill her (That suit in which Chica wanted to put her in was some sort of refference abt fnaf book character i never heard of) I felt tense of guy whom was killed by Bonnie, i just imagined how fcked he basically was... i was too when i played fnaf 1 many times as a kid (Couldn't pass night 2 cuz of rabbit) Didn't recognise Mat till i saw comments on internet. This movie had more villains then i expected (Minor villain, now i remember the word) & i don't mind red eyes I don't understand how William was controlling animatronics too. At least Mike was given reason to not quit his job after night 3 I like Cory's cameos Also i like how William's eyes looked before he put on mask for the final time Tbh i like the sounds William was making during springlock scene, like he was hiding his pain from victims cuz of his pride, he looked like he was abt to cry out of pain, but he put himself back together, said the speech & accepted death like a champ Which is one of the reasons why i like his speech I found these comments on internet which i agree with: "I love how he didn't scream or even panic. He knew that would only make the spring locks activate more, so he kinda just accepted his fate instead of screaming and shouting. I think that's one of my favourite details. Also Matthew lillard absolutely slaughtered this role" (I'm not sure if i agree with the last sentence, Matthew was good but not that good. Maybe i should check more scenes of William in movie. I guess that he works. Overall i like the Movie William) "If you think about it, the fact that it's bloodless is a bit more realistic. If you're stabbed, blood doesent pour out of you unless the thing that stabbed you is removed. While there will be some bleeding (as we saw) it'll be a lot less worse than we saw in the minigame. Also, the suit seems to be going one at a time with the springlocks, which is more horrifying that most off them all at once." I might feel like William is my fav character in movie Ngl, "I always come back" seemed kinda forced. But i like the way William said it & he basically wanted to always HAUNT his victims in any way possible Not sure if i said it or not, but i was shocked wen Springlock scene happend Tbh i was a happy person when i walked out of my movie theature Tbh fnaf movie has main flaws: It's hard to understand if u r not a fnaf fan It's not scary And there was no real explaination to how William controlled animatronics & changed their memories That really isn't major issue for me, but i wish there were more scenes where Mike was all alone with animatronics, that was another creep factor of fnaf 1. Like, Vanessa doesn't seem that busy as a cop Edit: here's a smart thing user flarestriker6870 wrote when he saw my ideas "Like that idea where the animatronics are shown as smart and not fall for the same things again. Also noticed that when Bonnie and Chica were blocking the vent to place The Cupcake in the vent while the thieves were inside the pizzeria, I'm guessing they learned that the Previous Nightguard tried to escape using the vent one time(Foxy still caught him though) and wanted to prevent it from happening again." Main & credits themes of movie are bangers
Afton says I always come back because he knows that he'll possess the suit. He knows how possession works already so he understand how to control the kids and how to do all of the stuff he does in the movie.

I see you were one of the many people who didn't even realize Golden Freddy was in the movie
Oh yeah, didn't know Matt Lillard was gonna be in it, so that was a throwback bonus for me lol
Well, teens have terrible taste....
@LexiGenix i loved "my mom and dad are gonna be so mad at me"
I love how you can feel this generational gap in the comment alone. How the kid is super into FNAF compared to someone who seems to be more into Scream. Love seeing the future of humanity sharing what we loved when we were younger.
Fun fact there were plenty of darker scenes in this movie, but unfortunately got cut out of the movie because of movie ratings like, for instance, there was apparently going to be a scene where Vanessa as a child, would look at a dark room and hear screams of children as you can faintly see William Afton killing them
The lack of those scenes is what ruined the movie
That would give her such a sad, traumatic reason to help William.
Did I hear PG-13? You know the rating that people wanted? They could've though had if they found a way to make it gruesome without getting hit with a R rating.
That would have been great.
This movie should get an R-rated uncut version
I think this movie was definitely meant to purposefully leave heaps of possibilities and doors open for the second film. My biggest wish for the second film is that they dive into the 80s more with William afton (and show more of his relationship with vanessa) if it’s a sequal (which it most likely will be) they could definitely use heaps of flashbacks.
As somebody with PTSD, I can tell you that it is in fact possible to have the same dream every night for MONTHS in a row.
I was wondering if anybody else realized how tone deaf this is .....like trauma good sir ....
Not to mention that some people have a level of control over their dreams. Mike explains that he uses the poster as well as the nature sounds to induce the dream. The pills aren't to affect the dream, but just to help him sleep in general.
Yup, I’ve dealt with ptsd before 😐
@AMV_KINGDOM_mv fr like I thought the characters were ery human, like the stuff ab Vanessa she was traumatised by her dad and was terrified by her father a literal child murderer.
We're not supposed to know what exactly happened to him yet, but people are speculating that he will possess the Puppet
he literally says he killed him
Also, it would make more sense for Garret to be in the puppet animatronic and Mike's dad to represent Henry as that's the only way Aston would target garret people hate on the fan movie for one reasonable reason it wasn't a horror movie as it wasn't supposed to be it was a movie for the fans and most other things they say just make them sound dumb even though with other movies and TV shows they sound like they know what they are talking about
@@kadenhorrocks7182 Yeah, there are a few puzzle pieces to link what we already know in the games with what we see in the movie.
@@morganmorrismediaIf that was the case then they wouldn't have tried to put the little girl in the puppet.

Even as a diehard fnaf fan this is the BEST review I’ve seen over the movie. Compliments what it does right and doesn’t sugarcoat the genuine flaws. Hats off👑👑
Yea its refreshing to hear someone not sugar coat it's bad points
Holy, I love your videos, troublesome junction.

I think it was stupid as fuck that she was bit in half. Like, I loved this movie, but that was dumb.
Watch the short film "the hug" it has the hand coming out of an animatronic just like in the fnaf movie
Ain't corny if you like it bro
@@thejaded Hey, don’t let me rain on your parade. If you enjoyed it then more power to you :)
Are we not gonna talk about that immaculate transition from Shaggy to Springtrap in the beginning?
The only other evidence that Steve raglan noticed about Mike was if you look at the car there was no license plate which means Garrets kidnapping was premeditated but it could have also been a detail that Mike missed and isn’t featured in his dreams.
Edit: Thank you’ll so much for the likes!
they often say numbers and letters are absent from memories
Yes I thought so too
The main reason he relives that scene over and over is that he believes he DID see the license plate and the information is therefore somewhere in his head. It's pretty likely that the car in fact did not even have one, which makes it even sadder.
Or it's just worthless to speculate cause dreams are part of this nonsense
What I thought would be intersting is.. William kidnapped garret as revenge.. but that plane actually belonged to Venessa. Implying that henry might have kidnapped some of williams kids… and William was doing the same out of revenge. Makes things way more complicated. Hahah.. but thought it would be even more f up if garrets plane actaully was always Venessa’s,or.. Venessa’s youngest brother that was killed by the bite.
8/10
They should've not have wasted William's Afton catch phrase in the first movie.
It was because he remembered the last name
Yeah, there’s more…he’s the brother of William’s murder victim, and he recognized the name.
Five Nights at Freddy's by The Living Tombstone is actually the first FNAF song and without it the FNAF fandom probably wouldn't have been as big.
Why the hell would be a song such a big reason for the growth of a franchise
@@Exel3nce the song became massive. A good chunk of people probably heard it not knowing what the hell FNAF was and got into it because of it. And we probably wouldn't have so many good FNAF songs if we never got that one it was responsible for them blowing up in popularity and becoming more mainstream.
this song is so good
There are probably hundreds of good FNAF songs and music videos to choose from. I think that one song was used just for sentimental reasons.

Aww, your wife "Meaning more to you than anything in the world" is adorable. Well done sir, You are doing it right 😊
It wasn't an 87% because it was a great movie. It's an 87% because it hit every visual marker it needed to. It looked SO good. Everything made it look and feel like Fnaf come to life. The story, on the other hand, was a bit rough.
If the next films get an 87, then something is going on
Anyone else notice something a bit……familiar with that score? 👀
le gasp* WAS THAT 87????
Yes, guys, I'm really saying the 87% score is representative of this being the bite of 87.
i think the cop character really brought the story down. her showing up for multiple nights didnt make sense. her getting involved in mikes personal life after only knowing him for a few hours was too pushy and mike never pushed back. they could have made mike say he let her be weird and confusing and pushy with him bc shes a cop or something. if some lady showed up on my first? second? night at a job id have politely asked her to leave so i could do my job. they truly tried to make her seem like a good person underneath all the deaths she caused with her father but thats not a good person thats an annoying cop.
The actress was great, she was cast perfectly - its just that the character genuinely served no purpose but to be a generic female lead who somehow knows all the exposition and does the whole horror trope "You gotta get out of here but I'm not gonna tell you why because spooky!"
She didn't singlehandedly wreck the film for me, still enjoyed it, but it would have improved massively without that extra character is all I'm saying.
The suits are amazing ...my gf is a huge fan so she was pointing out how things were different and taking from the book
you’re lucky. cherish the hell out of that :>
I think Garret will be a lot more important in the 2nd movie, thats already in pre-production.
This is a theory btw. But I think it might be true.

I don't think you can stuff even the smallest of kids into a figurine.
well matthew lillard signed on for three movies so i think they already wrote three movies into an arc with the lore they wanted to involve…like maybe they didn’t fully write three movies yet but i think they know they are doing for the three movies it that makes sense…so I wouldn’t be surprised if they had already made plans for the second one so they could pop out one every year around Halloween? it’s also blumhouse who love low budget horror 😂 but i think there’s a good chance the second movie will delve into the backstory with the pizzeria and William Afton, Garrett, the puppet, and a bunch of other stuff, so I’m really interested to see what they do
I do think it was funny that the people meant to destroy the place came in during the day.. how would that get the night guard fired? He wasn't there..
I was telling my sister this when we watched it together lol. Like bro this plan is the absolute worst-
They'd think he'd forgotten to lock up.
Well said
@@RedPigSpartan thank you, also cool pfp
I do wish we had gotten out R rated Gorey horrific fnaf movie but ultimately I’m happy with the book game lore hybrid we got
Sad Winnie the Pooh has more Gore lol
@@blueismylove3128 I don't want it to be a gorefest. I just want it to be darker and creepier.
I wouldn’t consider myself a die hard fnaf fan but the movie made me really happy when I watched it. I don’t really know why. So 10/10 for that

I don’t think this matters, but in the FNAF game series, William is British. But he’s seemingly American in the movie; I don’t hear an accent.

@@matijasostojic4288 People don't assume, he quite literally has an accent. It's a game thing, I guess. The first thing I can think to point you to is the intro to the intro to Sister Location where William is explaining all the things Circus Baby can do.

Fnafs main audience is literally children so it wouldn’t happen
Except you don’t need to be R rated to be scary. If you think something is only scary if it has a bunch of gore in it then you have a really shallow view on horror.

Did he watch the Bang of 87’ memes
I remember watching this in theatres and the majority of the audience were actually teenagers and they surprisingly knew a lot about the lore and were completely geeking out at all the Easter eggs and references. (Kept murmuring to each other when they noticed them.)
I was quite shocked never would've thought so many teenagers would've gotten into a game that came out like 9 years ago.
Like your wife, I knew nothing about the games prior to watching it and I really enjoyed the movie. I also did a deep dive into the lore afterwards 😂
"I always come back" is literally a line Afton says from the games...
I loved that line in the movie when they say: *mike, lets spring this trap!*
Afton is 100% aware that he'll be possessing his suit. And he isn't dead, at least not fully. Golden Freddy is keeping him alive, though in agony.

The phrase “I always come back” is what Afton says in the games when he dies
That transition from Shaggy to Springtrap was smooth

They robbed us, they took away the potential father-son conversation between Michael and William that we saw at the end of Sister Location
Those socks look like a mild tripping hazard. If the magnets catch mid sprint, you can taste the ground.
I definitely agree with you with your story criticisms tho.
it's not a good strategy to make a movie purely for the fans
I really love the editing on this! I usually listen to your vids while working, but for this one I kept it to actually watch, so I wouldn't miss any funny or cool editing.
Elvis: i was sad to learn that this wasn't the Micheal who killed his brother but the security guard st the first five nights at Freddy's game!
Fans: ... Should we tell him?
Other fans: *No* let him leave in peace!
💀
After I reread your comment, I realize the irony in that... X,D
Can you explain?
@@msjkrameyMike Schmidt is a fake name for Michael afton (in the games) Michael made a fake name so people wouldn't suspect that he's Williams son
Pretty much the only criticism of yours that I 100% agree with and yelled "THANK YOU!" at my screen over was "Vanessa sucks but the film wants us to think she's a morally good person for some reason."
Vanessa genuinely didn't even need to be in the film. Even presenting her as more morally grey like her actual game counterpart would have justified her character a little more (sequel stuff, maybe) but as she is right now, I just can't stand the "I am 100% capable of helping but I just don't because something something daddy issues."
No shade to the actress though, she did a great job and was perfectly cast to mimic the in game Vanessa.
8:18 made me laugh way too hard, I had to rewind it 3 times cause it was so good.
Ermm... Actually, Michael Afton and Michael Schmidt are the same person, he just uses his mother's maiden name when he applies for the job at Freddy Fazbear's Pizzeria to avoid attention by having the same last name as a local serial killer 🤓🤓🤓🤓
i wonder why the movie didn't went with that, it would have given mike a bigger connection to both freddy's and the antagonist
FNAF lore is a sandpit trap
Honestly I'm kinda sad that now there's no chance for us to see the conversation Michael had with William at the end of Sister Location
11:37 it’s because of the dream therapy book im pretty sure
Nobody gonna talk about the cold entrance in the beginning of the video
Is nobody gonna comment on how he said the security guard has no backstory in the first game
12:24 honestly I agree, it has been so long.
Since last he’s seen his brother, lost to that monster.
The man behind the slaughter…
Since he was killed
He’s been taking these stupid pills
So he could ponder
The whereabouts of his brother
Some things may not make the most sense, but in defense of the movie, they could be setting up answers in potential sequels
Fun fact: The FNAF movie supposedly was made to be *Rated R* and the original script for the movie did actually contain some gore scenes one of which is
"1st nightguard's face ripped open by an unseen animatronic, then he were lures onto the _torture suits_ + flesh and blood spew out as spinning blades grinds the night guard's face" (intro)
So, they're rethinking their decision of the initially _Rated R_ FNAF movie and make it rated Pg 13 to make it more accessible to everyone
In the end, they had to retake some of the scenes in order to keep it under Pg 13 guidelines
I’m a huge fan of the games and I thought this movie was ok
Here r my ideas to improve the movie & "review" of it:
After first dream, Mike wakes up in the first night to see Bonnie gone, later Chica disappears too (He'd wake up in 2 or 3 A.M.)
After one of dream things, u could see eyes of spirits turn black & black tears (Like in minigames & that bad movie jumpscare) for a short moment before Mike wakes up confused
Well, combining night 3 & 4 would feel too rushed, imagine truly seeing these robots up close only to see them building forts later
Also during night 4, Mike could tell Vanessa that animatronics smell bad, it's called - FORESHADOWING (for Night 5 plot twist)
It'd be cool if in night 2 of fnaf movie, it'd be simular to classic fnaf 1 stuff, but all 4 animatronics would try to hunt down Mike, it'd be like in Onaf - Each hour is harder than it's previous one
It'd make sense for it not to happen in night 5, as the animatronics knew what to expect & while Mike's sleeping, Foxy came from left & put him in that torture mechanism & Mike would need to get out
It'd show animatronics as smart, like they don't fall for the same stuff & do things differently or smth
Scratch that!
Freddy is fast & has no hook as one hand, so he should be the one to make Mike to torture device in night 5
Funny, isn't it?
All Freddy related bots are the ones which lead to death of 2 people Abby knew & almost killed her brother
I wish fnaf movie was actually scary, i don't really understand how William uses drawings to control. That custody sub plot also ended kinda badly. Nobody acknowledges death of Aunt Jane, Mike doesn't even know that he was betrayed by her
Now here's not actual review:
I found "It's me" refference when during one scene in office where everything was glitching
I don't mind William having little screentime. Ngl, William had some sort of charm in this movie
I like how animatronics dragged him. It looked cool
He also mentioned some owner, which means that Henry might appear in sequel
My take is a hot one: I hate game fnaf lore, Henry was introduced too late in the story & i prefer One Night at Flumpty's trilogy anyway (Flumpty is my fav fnaf related character)
I hope in sequel we get the reason to why PG killed those kids, like it'd be explained by Henry, no worries, i don't want Henry to just be exposition dump. Ngl, i like pure evil villains
In Puss in Boots 2, i prefer Jack Horner over Death
I just think that killing kids is a huge deal & we should know why he did that. Also Vanessa being William's daughter makes me interested in their background
Ok, William aside
I dunno, it's weird to me that whe these filler villains entered pizzeria after Mike left, and it happend after 6 A.M. but Animatronics were still like hostile. But i guess it was some sort of change too. Which makes things even more dangerous (Or was that a thing that William made them do)
Overall, i hate all fnaf games aside from 4, HW, SB DLC was mid & i dunno how to feel abt fnaf 1, i had good mood & expectations before watching it & everything was even better than i expected, refferences were great but the actual reasons why i like this movie were characters, how Mike's plot was connected to main story, i like how everything was answered, this movie made me smile a lot while i was watching (I rarely smile) so i hope i wasn't looking weird near some small girl who was sitting near me & saying some lore related stuff to her parents
Wen i heard living tombstone song, i started to quietly sing it to myself
Overall this movie was like 7/10
I like how devious Spring Bonnie looked with eyebrows in movie intro Major flaw of this movie that it isn't scary. My fav charactet is either Mike or William
Tbh i like these presense William had by adding drawings of yellow rabbit.
I liked how his first action trying to mentally f2ck up Mike & just kill him there
This movie made me feel tense for character, i felt worried for Abby cuz i thought that Chica would kill her (That suit in which Chica wanted to put her in was some sort of refference abt fnaf book character i never heard of)
I felt tense of guy whom was killed by Bonnie, i just imagined how fcked he basically was... i was too when i played fnaf 1 many times as a kid (Couldn't pass night 2 cuz of rabbit)
Didn't recognise Mat till i saw comments on internet. This movie had more villains then i expected (Minor villain, now i remember the word) & i don't mind red eyes
I don't understand how William was controlling animatronics too. At least Mike was given reason to not quit his job after night 3
I like Cory's cameos
Also i like how William's eyes looked before he put on mask for the final time
Tbh i like the sounds William was making during springlock scene, like he was hiding his pain from victims cuz of his pride, he looked like he was abt to cry out of pain, but he put himself back together, said the speech & accepted death like a champ
Which is one of the reasons why i like his speech
I found these comments on internet which i agree with: "I love how he didn't scream or even panic. He knew that would only make the spring locks activate more, so he kinda just accepted his fate instead of screaming and shouting. I think that's one of my favourite details. Also Matthew lillard absolutely slaughtered this role"
(I'm not sure if i agree with the last sentence, Matthew was good but not that good. Maybe i should check more scenes of William in movie. I guess that he works. Overall i like the Movie William)
"If you think about it, the fact that it's bloodless is a bit more realistic. If you're stabbed, blood doesent pour out of you unless the thing that stabbed you is removed. While there will be some bleeding (as we saw) it'll be a lot less worse than we saw in the minigame. Also, the suit seems to be going one at a time with the springlocks, which is more horrifying that most off them all at once."
I might feel like William is my fav character in movie
Ngl, "I always come back" seemed kinda forced. But i like the way William said it & he basically wanted to always HAUNT his victims in any way possible
Not sure if i said it or not, but i was shocked wen Springlock scene happend
Tbh i was a happy person when i walked out of my movie theature
Tbh fnaf movie has main flaws:
It's hard to understand if u r not a fnaf fan
It's not scary
And there was no real explaination to how William controlled animatronics & changed their memories
That really isn't major issue for me, but i wish there were more scenes where Mike was all alone with animatronics, that was another creep factor of fnaf 1. Like, Vanessa doesn't seem that busy as a cop
Edit: here's a smart thing user flarestriker6870 wrote when he saw my ideas
"Like that idea where the animatronics are shown as smart and not fall for the same things again. Also noticed that when Bonnie and Chica were blocking the vent to place The Cupcake in the vent while the thieves were inside the pizzeria, I'm guessing they learned that the Previous Nightguard tried to escape using the vent one time(Foxy still caught him though) and wanted to prevent it from happening again."
Main & credits themes of movie are bangers
The funniest parts about the movie is your god damn edits. I lost it at 10:55
Afton says I always come back because he knows that he'll possess the suit. He knows how possession works already so he understand how to control the kids and how to do all of the stuff he does in the movie.
