Yours looks just like mine. Rust everywhere. Replaced both lower control arms and now have an oil leak so tomorrow I can tell how bad it is. Thanks for the good video and the upbeat attitude.

Hey Hector! You are a better person than me because I know that you can tighten the oil filters by hand, but I am TOO SCARED because I don't want it to somehow come loose and blow a customer's engine. I really think I over tighten them, but that's just from me being too scared. You are doing it the correct way, so don't change, it's just me.

I would have tighten it with oil filter cap but I do realize that many people don't have the tools for it. You're doing the right thing because you know more about cars and oil changed than me. Hey, if true me known before I fix a car. I go run to your videos. Lol

LOL, you are doing it the right way, the way they say it on the filter instructions. I am just too chicken to do it that way, Lol!!

I also like to put some teflon tape on the threat of the oil plug in addition to a new washer, to be sure.

Great idea. I haven't try the teflon tape on the threat of the oil plug. Thanks

Hey none mechanic! Thank you for this video! I have this exact car (the automatic version), I was wondering if it was safe for me to degrease/hose down the engine bay? Mine is quite dirty. I didn’t know if it was safe to do on this car. Thanks!

It's up to you. What I did to clean the engine I used a engine greaser. I didn't power wash it.

@@NoneMechanic101 have any spare parts laying around for it still???....im just asking because my mom just past away unexpectedly and I got her 96 Hyundai accent...she told me a couple days before she passed that she wanted me to work on and restore her Hyundai and that's what I've been doing...its hard finding parts for the car though...you can find parts easier for a 64 impala then you can the 96 Hyundai accent..hahahaha...

In regards to the oil filter, you referred to the O ring/seal as "plastic" several times but it's rubber! Lol never plastic.
