Nothing makes me happier than grabbing a snack, a drink, and opening a new Dr. McGilchrist video that I have yet to watch. I'm pacing myself of course because it's an almost superb form of philosophical, right-brain enjoyment, especially in today's COVID era where meaningful human interaction is less and less. His observations of Blake's Jacob's ladder are profoundly symbolic of humanity's advancement towards the divine - as each generation passes, we integrate new forms of meaning and explore the vast unknown. The only fear is if we might blow ourselves up before we reach God...

Thank you for the exegesis. This is one of my favorite images from Blake.

‘I must create a system or be enslaved by another man’s; I will not reason and compare: my business is to create.’ - William Blake

That's super! I never could have conceived an image to capture cycles and progress at the same time. I hope that's what Blake was doing. I'm somewhat familiar with Blake's recurring 6000 year cycles but not sure about a sense of progress as these cycles are passed.

The spiral, one step forward two steps back but from a new perspective.

In meditation and before sleeping, a yellow fluid appears to my sight that moves and illuminates the whole visual field, could this be one of the interpretations of the scale?
