Perfect way to save your images if you are a portrait or beauty photographer, and keeping high quality and sharpness is essential when presenting your photography work to the world.
**One thing I did not mention in the video is to ALWAYS export for social media and web in sRGB colour mode and 8-bit channel - in Photoshop you will find this setting in top bar, under Image - Mode. You are welcome :)

Hi Vera,
Thanks a lot for this video. This is something I have not thought of doing for a long time (so will start doing it now).
However, I would like to point out that when resizing the image on Photoshop - a good tip would be to resize the image by 10 or 20 % until you reach the instagram size restrictions. If you resize the image lets say from 4860 × 6075 to 1080x1350 (which is the IG size) immediately - you will result in something called the moire effect (especially if you are resizing images including patterns from clothes).
I just had that happen and tried something called "resizing the image by 10-20 % each time" and the moire effect was not there anymore. :-)
By the way - your retouching is amazing! Love them.
Great suggestion! Doesn’t happen much with skin focused images but I can see how that could be a problem with small patterns on clother etc. Definitely great advice! Thanks for comment ♥️
Are you working in .jpgs?

Hi! Thank you!👍
Can the above be done in any smartphone using any app?
thank u mama
Hi Vera! Love your work and videos! Quick question, since you also use capture one, why don’t you use an export recipe with it for your social media?
I do :) But back when I created this video I did not have C1 yet. Plus, many people juts use Photoshop for export so this is more versatile.
Hi Vera I recently discovered your channel I must say you are doing simple and efficient tutorials. What are are a the chances for one to send you an image for a critic and send some feed back
Thank you! When I cross 3K subscribers I am planning on doing critique video! So everyone can learn from it as well ☺️
nice
hello Vira, thanks so much for these tips, any ideas on how to fix the same problem when uploading more than 3 images in one post?
That must be Instagram bug, if you have issue with carousels quality.
Do you have a RAW file? I wanna practice my skin retouching. Thanks.
I know there probably isn't an exact number but what size would you use when uploading to a portfolio website?
Also this is a really helpful video, thank you! ☺️
I use the same pictures that I size down for Instagram, for my website as well ☺️
@@VeraChange Amazing, thank you :)
Hi Vera,
when you send your clients the pictures over do you send over the ones you've sized down or the original size files?x
For paying clients high res and web res, when I test I only send web res.
great video, where are you from if you don't mind me asking
Thank you very much. I live in UK, but originaly i am from Slovakia!
Hello mam
One question: For landscape photo we have to change setting like width: 1100 height: 800 or we can apply same setting of portrait photo?
Great video! One quick sort-of-related question for you... When I upload my photos to social media, they look super saturated on my phone but totally fine on my computer in Photoshop. I've even checked out other makeup artists' websites on my computer and their work looks great but on my phone it looks over-saturated. After some Googling, I read it might be an issue with the color settings on newer phones (they are supposed to make things look cooler on smaller screens I guess? 🤷♀️🙄)...but do you know if it's maybe my fault or if there is something I can do to combat that when retouching? Any help would be much appreciated! Thanks! ❤️
I would suppose this is only problem of your phone. If various images on various pages looks great on computer but oversaturated on phone, it’s probably that. You can compare with some friends/family members phones, one next to the other and see if there’s any colour difference.
My friends phone was showing everything much warmer / too yellow so she had the same problem, she changed her phones and now is all good ☺️ So it really might be just that!
Hope you sort it out!
@@VeraChange ok awesome, thank you! Glad to know it's not just me, lol!
If you google: facebook picture size 2048 help
Then the Facebook help center will show: Normal images: 2048px wide or smaller
I always use 1200px and it works great with quality results. You’ll find articles all over the internet that shows 1200pc on long size as recommended.
@@VeraChange I suggest you try 2048 on Long Edge. See if you think it gets better - or unchanged
VERA HOW DID YOU UPLOAD THE PHOTO TO YOUR INSTAGRAM, DIRECT FROM PHONE??? OR FROM UR COMPUTER?
On facebook I upload from my computer, on Instagram from my phone! (i am sending the resized, sharpened version to my phone via email or AirDrop and uploading from there). x
Please Vera how did you get liquid to drip on your models Face in Photoshop
It’s honey and we actually did in on the shoot.
Hi Vera, wasn’t it 2048 pix longer side for fb?
Yes, yes it used to be 2048. Now it’s 1200. ☺️
Hi Vera.. i can save my photo after web(save) but when i airdrop to my phone , that websave photo is not shown on my photos.. but the others do. could you explain me how to fix it,please. thank you 🙏
Same problem me
Please tell me any solution) thank you
I have a question. Do you sharpen the photo before and after resizing it, or just after?
After ☺️
I thought Facebook stated that the "wide" is 720, 960 and 2048 for both vertical and horizontal image?
They’ve recently changed it and it’s recommended to 1200px on a long side. You can google it ☺️
Hey, your video is very nice, but i have a problem and i'm starting to think it is because of my camera. I have the Sony a7R III, which has 42mp. If i size down my images i lose a crazy amount of detail because the raw files are 7000px on the long side. Is there a workaround to get the same amount of quality even though i am sizing down that much? I am a bit jealous of people like you, who can upload these crazy sharp images to their instagram since it doesn´t work for me. Tthe Full Res quality is there though, so it is dead sharp but just not for instagram. Sorry for my bad english, just woke up :)
Oh and don't get me wrong, not jealous in a bad way x)
Did you ever figure this out bro?? 2 years later and still struggling lol
@@coltonlawrence9678 yes
When you're done editing, do you send the image to your phone then upload, or do you upload the image straight to social media on your laptop?
This is what I do, let me know if this is wrong please:
Photoshop ➡️ instagram inbox on laptop ➡️ access sent file on phone and save it to phone ➡️ upload to social media for others to see.
I do send to my phone via Airdrop (before i was sending via email as that doesn’t change quality, as opposed to Messenger, Instagram) and then upload to Instagram from my phone. When uploading to Facebook or ANY other platform, I always upload straight from computer. Only for Instagram i send files to my phone as you can’t upload straight from PC as easily.
Does fb compressed to 1200 or 2048? It's a huge different. I think it's 2048px, isnt it?
It used to be, yes. Now it’s 1200px. You can double check online.
Hi Vera, the noise seems worse somehow. You have a low hum. It may be a ground loop, or something. Perhaps you need to run a ”highpass filter” on your sound.
Thanks Bruce! Seems like it’s never good it is 😂 The background “hum” is caused by my big PC I left turned on, will know better next time definitely! Fix it in post is option as well, I just need to learn mote about video editing! Thanks for your comment Bruce 🙏🏼
Just teething problems that will get better.
Bruce Lauderdale deffo. Thanks for that!
@@VeraChange Most of the folks recording clean 3D sound use condenser microphones ;) You'll get a really nice sound quality out of those. That is, if you're intending to go forward in your YT activities, it will become a 'must have' equipment.
Khansue Arki i have one of those but doesn’t work with my PC for some reason. (I should mention I am not very technical type lol)
But yes definitely will work on my sounds ☺️
And this is with 16- bit images ?
For web is 8bit the best
😝😘😘😘😘10Q
"Hopefully you can hear me"... lost me right there. Obviously you are going to edit and won't upload if the sound is not there. Have the end result in mind.
ew so condescending. Vera you're awesome, thank you for this video!
Thanks Ianna, it’s okay ☺️ Eke probably didn’t get the point but that’s also okay. Not everyone will like what I do! ☺️
@@VeraChange true! your work is very much appreciated :)
