@@soul6733 that's not true though, I looked at both Japanese scenes myself In KH1 Riku's farewell is "カイリをたのむぜ" which translates to "Take care of Kairi." While KH3 Riku Replica's farewell is "頼んだぞ" which translates to "It's a request"
I think there is another callback at the end when Kairi drops a tear while smiling and the same thing happened at the end of KH1 when Kairi sees the drawing in the secret place.
And also, that the tear that falls off her face while sitting on the paopu tree is likely supposed to be the drop of water that falls into the puddle in Shibuya in the Yozora ending
This video is absolutely amazing and a testament to the care and effort Nomura puts into the series. Bless you for making this One little detail not present: in KH1, when Riku tosses the Paopu to Sora he says that those who share it “will remain a part of each other’s lives no matter what”. And when Kairi offers Sora the fruit here, she uses the same exact wording. It’s a cute little detail

This is how it's meant to be seen. You've gotta pay attention, you gotta remember and catch all these subtle things to understand the massive weight KH3 has by itself. A collection of pure passion for a single project, with almost nothing out of place. Maybe showing this to some people will make them think again before spouting the same three sentences about the pacing, the game ruining the saga etcetera. preach this to the freaking STARS! this game was fantastic. it did everything I, as a long time fan, wanted. it answered many questions, left just enough open, and with the dlc on the way we will get some more closure to tie us over until the nxt game.
People spent too much time complaining about III that they didn't even take a moment to sit back and appreciate what was given to them for the past 17 years. III ruled and I can't wait for the DLC!!!

The only reason why I keep expressing my opinion is the the fact that even know there's a loming sense narcisity as you can see from the comment saying things like "show this to people who still find the game bad". But now, it's been a whole year after the game's release. I've said my things, nothing is gonna change. I'm keeping an optimistic view looking forward to the series. I've come to terms with what I think of this game. I don't expect you to change my opinion and I don't expect to change yours but when I say I found the game dissapointing I mean it from the deepest part of my heart, as someone who loved this series from the start, I've tried and I mean tried to love this game when I first finished it, I even defended it religiously the first few days I finished it, but the more and more I realised how little it actually keeped me engaged, the lack of genuine passion when it came to finishing the saga naturally and satisfying, I realised how much wasted potential it really had, I never truly felt satisfied with this game. There are solid takes from people that defend this game, and there are those like me that felt dissapointed, you must understand. As someone who finds FFXV a guilty pleasure I 100% understand those that dislike the game. But the difference between that and KH3 is that it engaged me. KH3 and even previous games like DDD kept derailing from a place of passion to a convoludedness and pretentiousness. KH3 was the straw that broke the camels back for me. Dark Riku's "Unlike a certain wizard you know, I had to follow the rules to travel through time" could also be referring to Merlin and Timeless River in KH2.
You missed one pretty neat call back in Twilight Town. When Sora takes a picture with Hayner, Pence, and Olette, he uses the 'folded arms, with his head tilted up' pose from Kingdom Hearts 2's ultamania I believe

People really played this game and then said "the disney worlds added nothing to the plot! The pacing is awful, all the plot is at the end!" Thank you for making this video, makes me feel less crazy when I tell people how important the Disney worlds were.
When dark Riku said (unlike a certain wizard you know, I had to play by the rules to travel through time) I also saw a reference to kingdom hearts 2, when Merlin summons a door to the timeless river that can violate every single rule of time travel

This was incredible. I clicked on the video expecting to have known all of these but many of them blew my mind. Like when you pointed out that their formations in the Keyblade Graveyard made a heart I lost my goddamn mind. And Saix being who Even was talking about, and then Roxas pointing right at him? When Sora and company are sent into Xehanorts portal (to go to scala ad caelum), they reference the "now I know, with all my heart, kingdom hearts is light" moment with the light and everything. That would have been a cute add
i think the mickey telling riku that all fear and doubt goes away to protect the person that matters most can directly apply to the scene in the graveyard with riku sacrificing himself to try and save sora
The Birth by Sleep trio probably got it the worst before before Kingdom Hearts III. One was put in a “permanent” coma, one was possessed by an evil old man, and the other was sent to hell for trying to help her friends.
I definitely have my share of problems with KH3 story but I loved the references and callbacks spreaded through the game, hence why my favorite part of KH3 is the opening in Sora's heart. Thank you for sharing all those little details, I'm sure there's a lot I've missed.
Two whole months have passed and I just found this masterpiece NOW?! You deserve more subscribers, my friend; excellent job. If I may add one more foreshadow, though. In the Caribbean when Luxord said "Such compulsive behaviour is eventually going to bring you nothing but sorrow", that could be about Sora abusing the Power of Waking to save Kairi.
This video was amazing and it's a big reason of why I love this game. So many small references and callbacks from all over the games of the series that made me smile and jump in joy, along with the foreshadowing of future events in the game like Xion and Replica Riku being used as seekers and Sora's fate at the end of the game. However, I hope you don't mind if I include some moments that you missed. I know you mentioned you didn't add Ventus calling Sora his "second chance" because of a ability with the same name but that was more of a callback to Birth by sleep ending. When Ven's heart talks to baby Sora saying he gave him a second chance at life after Xehanort was prepared to dump him off at the island. The other two moments being both from twilight town. The first is when Sora looks up at Namine's window and suddenly he's "Possessed" by Roxas which is a direct callback to KH2 when Roxas looks uo at Namine's window and is later shaken out of his trance by pence and when Sora is talking to Namine In the final world saying that "Roxas misses her too". And in the basement when Hayner and Olette talk about getting pretzels for the four of them. Granted that callback was in a text box cutscene when they were discussing what to buy at the beach during KH2 but I don't think it hurts to mention. Besides that, great work!
This video is pure gold! I am from the big team that loved the game despite some errors that we know it had (A big one being Square-Enix showing too much in trailers). In my first playthrough I noticed a lot of this references and, damn, it made the game more amazing and made me realize all the love put from Square-Enix into it. Only 10 days to go for Re:Mind to be more amazed of this game. Finally, amazing work, It's time to spread this video. Congrats!

I honestly consider these to be the best Disney worlds in the series. One of my reasons being that they actually contribute to the main plot, unlike say KH2's which were mostly filler.
@Eternal Snow That I will agree with. In my opinion, Arendelle was the weakest Disney world in KH3, but at least it had some awesome gameplay moments, such as the ice labyrinth or the Sköll boss battle.

Wew, this just reminds me how much they really wanted to try and connect all of the games together. This is extremely well edited and is an alright look at what KHIII goes for. Other people have pointed out you missed some stuff, but I would whole-heartedly recommend this video to others because of what you did manage to include. Good job.

Thanks for this! Appreciate keeping it cinematic too. Great editing and absolutely increases the power of the story. Nomura had one helluva task to weave all of this in and though the journey wasn't 100% perfect (nothing is), he still hit all the points and ended the game damn near flawlessly imo. I caught a lot of these callbacks, but seeing them like this is exactly why KH3 deserves to be in high regard.
there is one cutscene that made me think of when watching toy story 4. its when bonnie was making forky and how he came to life and all I can think of is what young xehanort said which was how in that world toys have hearts and those hearts are formed by a powerful bond which that line is the closest to an explanation to how forky came to life despite being just a spork and not really a toy
Which makes you think: do body pillows and real dolls also come to life in that world? Surely, people who love their waifu have no shortage of love and bonding?
Just a cat Only a heart may travel through time. To circumvent that, the Organization used replicas to hold their hearts. The replicas were nearly human, so it was as if they had traveled fully intact.
I was a three hater until I replayed it and I realized it wasn't meant to be some grand epic finale but more as a love letter to the entire series. 17 years worth of amazing stories and details that I now have a much greater appreciation for.

Even his reports state that he intended to create a world where light and darkness were balanced. While his goals weren't really evil, it's the ways he reached those goals were what made him the villain. In BBS, he says, "Light and darkness, they are a balance. One that must always be maintained." The main problem was the slight mistranslation in KH3, when he says, "An empty world, pure and bright." Whereas in the Japanese dub, he says something along the lines of, "An empty world, pure and blank," like a blank canvas.
Ariel: If you can visit other worlds then maybe I can too...so many places I want to see. I know I'll get there someday. Sora can summon her any time in any world, and we know summons are canonical occurrences so it's safe to assume that Sora has given Ariel the chance to see other worlds, right?
Great video but you missed an "all my heart" moment, it was when Sora regains the power of waking. Ventus tells Sora the power is there and he need only to call out to it, and sora tells him he is with all this heart. Also in terms of reactions I feel like it would have been good to have shown all the reactions Ven's heart had in Sora leading up to the reaction where Sora and Ven converse. Since they all foreshadow and share a similar connection point. Ven hearing Aqua is in danger in the realm of darkness makes his heart react twice while at the tower, then vanitas elicits a violent reaction in MI, and then at LoD its the combination of Aqua in danger and Vanitas that elicit a strong enough reaction that Ventus finally starts to awaken and tells Sora about the power.
Thank you for making this: I can barely imagine the effort and time you had to put in it. Some of this are really brilliant and I had never noticed (largely due to my lacks of knowledge in non-console titles): Monster&co doors and Winnie the Pooh are mind blowing!

This video you've made single handedly makes KH3 seem more cohesive and complete than anything else I've played (the game itself) or watched (bigger youtubers making similar videos). You've done an amazing job here.
The Vanitas callback is still weird since Sora had to recognise him purely by voice. His vision of Vanitas in the cathedral was unmasked and no black coat, he meets Vanitas in Monstopolis while Vanitas wears his mask and black coat and still figures it out.
Which on itself is fine, recognizing someone by voice. But he saw Vanitas unmasked at the cathedral & remembered it as of Monstropolis, yet at the Keyblade Graveyard he's shocked when Vanitas' helmet shatters.
Oh my God. Wonderful work. Well-edited, precise, with timestamps... you missed some nitpicks? Who cares. Never seen something likes this for KH, and that is extremely important with KH3 to expose how well it connects with other games of the series (it may have its flaws as a game but that's not the point here). Congratulations, you have really done something special.
I would also highlight the theme of sacrifice, Flynn sacrificing himself for repunzel, mike and sulley accepting they cant have boo forever, anna stopping hans to save elsa, will taking the curse, and lastly hiro letting baymax go. People like to say "the disney worlds dont matter to the story", but they reinfore the theme of sacrifice that inspires sora to save kairi in the end despite the ultimate cost
Another one during the scene with young Xehanort and woody, he says "So, Even empty puppets can be given strong hearts. I am going to have to remember that" which is a call back to KH2 end boss when Xemnas says " So, it seems your hearts have led you to obliteration. Perhaps it doesn't pay to be too loyal to one's heart. I will have to be sure and remember that"

I just now realized.... dark Riku was Repliku’s original personality before it got changed by namine. The one that bragged about embracing the darkness and boasting about being able to defeat the keyblade wielders...
In 36:05 i think he is referencing to when Sora (and then Sora became Ven) saw Terra and Aqua and they became Riku and Kairi (Sora was chasing after them until Riku woke Sora up) in DDD Ps. Sorry for my bad english.

Hercule's speech about leaving home to be with Meg also mirrors Sora rescuing Kairi in ReMind. KH3 is much more competent than people give it credit for. Sure the Disney worlds are largely without plot relevance, but they all are very thematically relevant.

In KH1 Riku's farewell is "カイリをたのむぜ" which translates to "Take care of Kairi." While KH3 Riku Replica's farewell is "頼んだぞ" which translates to "It's a request"
I think there is another callback at the end when Kairi drops a tear while smiling and the same thing happened at the end of KH1 when Kairi sees the drawing in the secret place.

One little detail not present: in KH1, when Riku tosses the Paopu to Sora he says that those who share it “will remain a part of each other’s lives no matter what”. And when Kairi offers Sora the fruit here, she uses the same exact wording. It’s a cute little detail

Maybe showing this to some people will make them think again before spouting the same three sentences about the pacing, the game ruining the saga etcetera.

This video just shows off diffrent foreshadowing and callbacks. As clever as these are, they don't make the story better or compelling, it just helps tie into the other games. Showing these callbacks just hurts me more as a fan since the other games this is calling back to gives me good nostalgic memories on the series I loved, but all culminating into KH3, which was a mediocre finale to me and many gives off a very sour and sad taste in my mouth. The only reason why I keep expressing my opinion is the the fact that even know there's a loming sense narcisity as you can see from the comment saying things like "show this to people who still find the game bad". But now, it's been a whole year after the game's release. I've said my things, nothing is gonna change. I'm keeping an optimistic view looking forward to the series. I've come to terms with what I think of this game. I don't expect you to change my opinion and I don't expect to change yours but when I say I found the game dissapointing I mean it from the deepest part of my heart, as someone who loved this series from the start, I've tried and I mean tried to love this game when I first finished it, I even defended it religiously the first few days I finished it, but the more and more I realised how little it actually keeped me engaged, the lack of genuine passion when it came to finishing the saga naturally and satisfying, I realised how much wasted potential it really had, I never truly felt satisfied with this game. I kept seeing more and more what I disliked than I actually liked, it kept doing little to focus on what good it has like expand the game, develop chacatars, answers questions that deserved to be answered like that box they teased for years now. I expected better, more. I didn't get that personally. It all felt, small, it all felt miniscule, it all felt sudden, it all felt rushed.
You may not agree with that, but respect others opinion like you want yourself, my opinon is no less valid than yours. There are solid takes from people that defend this game, and there are those like me that felt dissapointed, you must understand. As someone who finds FFXV a guilty pleasure I 100% understand those that dislike the game. But the difference between that and KH3 is that it engaged me. KH3 and even previous games like DDD kept derailing from a place of passion to a convoludedness and pretentiousness. KH3 was the straw that broke the camels back for me. I'm done fighting this game, I'm just waiting for the future, hopefully it gets better.

The Birth by Sleep trio probably got it the worst before before Kingdom Hearts III. One was put in a “permanent” coma, one was possessed by an evil old man, and the other was sent to hell for trying to help her friends.
I definitely have my share of problems with KH3 story but I loved the references and callbacks spreaded through the game, hence why my favorite part of KH3 is the opening in Sora's heart. Thank you for sharing all those little details, I'm sure there's a lot I've missed.

If I may add one more foreshadow, though. In the Caribbean when Luxord said "Such compulsive behaviour is eventually going to bring you nothing but sorrow", that could be about Sora abusing the Power of Waking to save Kairi.
This video was amazing and it's a big reason of why I love this game. So many small references and callbacks from all over the games of the series that made me smile and jump in joy, along with the foreshadowing of future events in the game like Xion and Replica Riku being used as seekers and Sora's fate at the end of the game. However, I hope you don't mind if I include some moments that you missed. I know you mentioned you didn't add Ventus calling Sora his "second chance" because of a ability with the same name but that was more of a callback to Birth by sleep ending. When Ven's heart talks to baby Sora saying he gave him a second chance at life after Xehanort was prepared to dump him off at the island. The other two moments being both from twilight town. The first is when Sora looks up at Namine's window and suddenly he's "Possessed" by Roxas which is a direct callback to KH2 when Roxas looks uo at Namine's window and is later shaken out of his trance by pence and when Sora is talking to Namine In the final world saying that "Roxas misses her too". And in the basement when Hayner and Olette talk about getting pretzels for the four of them. Granted that callback was in a text box cutscene when they were discussing what to buy at the beach during KH2 but I don't think it hurts to mention. Besides that, great work!

In my first playthrough I noticed a lot of this references and, damn, it made the game more amazing and made me realize all the love put from Square-Enix into it. I honestly consider these to be the best Disney worlds in the series. One of my reasons being that they actually contribute to the main plot, unlike say KH2's which were mostly filler.

there is one cutscene that made me think of when watching toy story 4. its when bonnie was making forky and how he came to life and all I can think of is what young xehanort said which was how in that world toys have hearts and those hearts are formed by a powerful bond which that line is the closest to an explanation to how forky came to life despite being just a spork and not really a toy

A lot of people complained about the fact that xehanorts motives turned out to be good
But he literally says it in BBS "ruin brings about creation"
Even his reports state that he intended to create a world where light and darkness were balanced. While his goals weren't really evil, it's the ways he reached those goals were what made him the villain.
In BBS, he says, "Light and darkness, they are a balance. One that must always be maintained." The main problem was the slight mistranslation in KH3, when he says, "An empty world, pure and bright." Whereas in the Japanese dub, he says something along the lines of, "An empty world, pure and blank," like a blank canvas.
Something you missed: the opening movie ends with Sora holding Xehanort's chess piece, foreshadowing Xehanort bequeathing him the x-blade

Sora can summon her any time in any world, and we know summons are canonical occurrences so it's safe to assume that Sora has given Ariel the chance to see other worlds, right?

Great video but you missed an "all my heart" moment, it was when Sora regains the power of waking. Ventus tells Sora the power is there and he need only to call out to it, and sora tells him he is with all this heart. Also in terms of reactions I feel like it would have been good to have shown all the reactions Ven's heart had in Sora leading up to the reaction where Sora and Ven converse. Since they all foreshadow and share a similar connection point. Ven hearing Aqua is in danger in the realm of darkness makes his heart react twice while at the tower, then vanitas elicits a violent reaction in MI, and then at LoD its the combination of Aqua in danger and Vanitas that elicit a strong enough reaction that Ventus finally starts to awaken and tells Sora about the power.
This is nothing but a work of love. Thank you for this.

The Vanitas callback is still weird since Sora had to recognise him purely by voice. His vision of Vanitas in the cathedral was unmasked and no black coat, he meets Vanitas in Monstopolis while Vanitas wears his mask and black coat and still figures it out.
Which on itself is fine, recognizing someone by voice. But he saw Vanitas unmasked at the cathedral & remembered it as of Monstropolis, yet at the Keyblade Graveyard he's shocked when Vanitas' helmet shatters.
Holy shit the whole Monstropolis doors leading into the other worlds in the game thing is wild

I would also highlight the theme of sacrifice, Flynn sacrificing himself for repunzel, mike and sulley accepting they cant have boo forever, anna stopping hans to save elsa, will taking the curse, and lastly hiro letting baymax go. People like to say "the disney worlds dont matter to the story", but they reinfore the theme of sacrifice that inspires sora to save kairi in the end despite the ultimate cost
Another one during the scene with young Xehanort and woody, he says "So, Even empty puppets can be given strong hearts. I am going to have to remember that" which is a call back to KH2 end boss when Xemnas says " So, it seems your hearts have led you to obliteration. Perhaps it doesn't pay to be too loyal to one's heart. I will have to be sure and remember that"
