- Hello, beautiful friends!! The fall leaves are still hanging on here at the cottage and throughout the Hudson Valley. But this might be the final week here for color. I'm going to miss these leaves!
I've been walking ... and walking ... and walking. All with the goal of healing. And slowly making changes. And it's helping so much.
Thank you so much for being here! I appreciate you all so much. I've had a rough few weeks and haven't been very good about getting back to comments. But please know that I read each and every one as they come in and appreciate all you share with myself and one another.

MY WASHING MACHINE ... people often ask what brand it is, and if I like it! The answer is ... yeeees! It's a Costway portable machine and I LOVE it! It's not nearly as fast and efficient to use as a regular washing machine. But if you can't have one for any reason, this little guy can be a real life saver. As you shared how you believe the trees were clapping their hands for you, a song I used to sing came to mind. It was based on a verse written by the Prophet Isaiah to the Israelites. I wanted to share it. You are not crazy!

I feel much more relaxed at the moment watching your walk through nature. Hearing the water, seeing the leaves dribbling down, hearing your soft voice and laughter, hearing the crunch of the leaves as you walk over them. I feel I can smell the crispness of autumn there and I can smell the pine needles as you can. I will always thank the waving leaves on the trees for cheering me on from now on🍁. Thank you, Kate!

It has been a spectacular Fall because, this year, I decided to live, mindfully, day after day. I feel that the trees are greeting me when the leaves wave. Our landscapes here in Ontario, Canada are very similar to your area. My nature walks give me life. So glad you're getting the forest healing. 🥰

@@littlebohocottage I too live in a moderate 4 season climate in a cabin in the forest. I'm the most at peace in my life at 70yo and living on my own maintaining this simple yet beautiful place. Seasonal changes are essential for a healthy spiritual existence in harmony with Nature for me. Vere minimal humidity, ticks or skeeters here though. Not crying. Take care dear.

I love pine cones! As autumn is here, I have a basketful I painted copper, brass & bright gold. When Christmas comes, I put out cones I painted textured white & silver with pearls and ribbons. Nature makes the best decorations!

If I didn't know better I would think you were in Kentucky. The beautiful leaves, water and nature trails are so reminiscent of my childhood memories in KY. After 30 years of teaching coming to an end in May 2024, I will be returning to the beauty like in your videos. Thank you for sharing. I can see the light at the end of a long tunnel coming to an end.

Keep grounding with your feet or hands on the ground. The electricity in the earth is healing for the human body. It's a real thing, and should be done for at least a couple minutes daily. The colors in this video are just stunning. You are a master at capturing that!

Beautiful video, thank you Kate, I always feel so calm by water, like you. Those leaves ARE clapping you, and cheering you on to be happy! The colours all around are stunning. We put our clocks back in England last night, and it feels odd today, until we get used to the change of hour. Has been pouring rain, then the lovely sun comes out, and the sky is blue - very changeable weather, but the temperature here is 11 degrees c, which is 51 degrees f, so much cooler than where you are, but still quite mild for here in West Devon, England. I spend as much time as possible with bare feet, to earth myself, and only put boots or shoes on to walk Madge, my rescue greyhound - I feel it is so good for us to walk bare foot as much as possible. Hi Kate! I watched your video twice, you left me wanting to see more! 😂 🍂🐾🍂🧡💝Anyway, your walk in the Woods as the leaves fell was majestic! I love that you said the weather was warm, as my favorite time of year is the beginning of Autumn when Summer keeps peeking back in refusing to say good-bye. As for Nature being a teacher I can testify that in my own life, I’ve also learned how seamless and on time the Seasons are. He teaches us to be like the lilies of the field and the birds not worrying or being anxious. We are all beautiful in our changes just like Nature is. If we are present living in the moment than the past or future can not be a worry. You’re looking so beautiful Kate! Even though the video was short it was filled with beauty, wonder, and wisdom. Thank you for sharing your beautiful natural surroundings with us! I wish we could get back to leather soul shoes 👞 as rubber keeps us from grounding. I personally try to wear leather soul shoes when possible...( in the mean time I have a grounding mat)

I am so glad you are feeling better. You know, when you exercise, your body releases endorphins that make you feel better. Add nature to it and you can't help but feel good. I have a wild cherry tree in my front yard. When the wind blows, it's leaves shimmer and dance and when the sun hits it just right, it shines a beam into the house through that tree, making such a beautiful sight. Yes, it does look like they are applauding. As far as the temperatures go...well...I live in North Florida. When the temp goes down to 60, we make chili.
Your cherry tree sounds lovely! And haha ... well, you guys have thinner blood down there so I guess you do need chili when it's in the 60s!!!!!❤❤❤

It makes my Sundays so calm and restful. I really needed it this week as on Monday my sweet and gentle dog Shadow collapsed on our walk, and I had to have her put down on Thursday. I'm in my 60s and she is the only dog I ever had. Parting is indeed such sweet sorrow. I was blessed to have had her in my life for many years and have many happy memories.💝
Oh no : ( I'm so very sorry to hear about your baby. I'm so glad you have so many beautiful and happy memories. Dogs are just the most special thing ever. I'm sending you the biggest hugs. I remember someone telling me once after my first chihuahua had passed away that the thing that comforts her most when she loses a pet is knowing that saying goodbye opens the way for her to find and love another pet. Each one is so special and unique ... and she couldn't imagine not having had each and every one of them. That really brought me a little comfort when it hurt the most. Sending big, big hugs❤❤❤

I love the clapping leaves analogy! To me, it is as though they are waving to all of creation and dancing to the beautiful breezes that blow through them. It was nearly 80 degrees here, also, yesterday in the Susquehanna Valley. I went for a lovely hike in the woods at a nearby state park. It was glorious! I saw so many of the last little warblers that pass through this area during Autumn (Yellow Rumped Warblers), and they make me so happy with their adorable, little sounds and flitting movements through the trees. I was able to get some phenomenally beautiful pictures of the trees reflecting in the water this past week. I went crazy just snapping away. I love the beautiful place you visited and shared with us....just gorgeous! Thank you for taking us there with you. Keep connecting with nature, and all that is truly meaningful and pure in life, and I'm sure you will do fine with your changes. Sending love, light, and beautiful colors your way!

I just discovered grounding and I love it and thought about as a kid I didn’t even know I was doing that. I also got a grounding pad too and sleep with it. It has been helpful for my arthritic toe. 😊

Ob thankyou for taking us on such a beautiful walk . All the autumn trees and the river . Miss long walks with my MS.. Nature is healing . Over 21 years ago we lived in the South West of Western Australia . Little cottage we had built like the Canadian 2 story cabin . Beautiful old trees and wildflowers . Worth looking up about WA wildflowers. We had orchids and each year waiting for them.too flower . 3 young kids and big brown long haired dog all growing up and having fun riding there bikes around the fire break tracks with Teddy brown bike . Our view was too a,mountain about 10 klms away . Oh and such a variety of narive birds . Views out too the bush from all window,s It,s made me who I am today ..After relationship breakdown I moved over too where my eldest daughter lives .We had a business in the town 10 klms away . All such a beautiful memory .I love it when my adult children talk too me about the walk they just went on around a lake with there kids .Or that bird that they say especially my eldest daughter . She loves garden too and we both love our roses in our gardens . Had the best afternoon with her and husband and son recently . Son in laws family and his friends for a barbecue in the bush amongst some very old trees on their farm .Sun was out and food was great . This afternoon and yesterday afternoon was my exercise findings my garden under weeds and planting out a few tomatos and seeds . I changed my diet too gluten free a lot of years ago too help my MS . So veggies from the garden and not spayed on that list too.

This was beautiful, thanks for sharing! The colors were at peak here then on Wed the dark/rainy/wet settled in, now a hard freeze and it's hard to adjust. I'mso glad to see you've had a good week and are adjusting and taking care of yourself. Carrie Newcommer has a song; Leaves Let Go, that you might like, also Holy As The Day Is Spent, both are uplifting.

We're at peak color here in SW Ohio, so it won't be long before our trees are bare, as well. Yesterday and overnight we got some heavy rain, and I woke up to find lots of big white mushrooms all over my yard! I'm hoping Chad and I can get out for a bit today so I can get some pictures. We usually go to a local nature preserve where they have a pond that is full of turtles. Aren't they just the cutest little beings? They will swim up and look up at us standing on the bridge like they're saying hello. I hope we see some of them! I'm glad you've been getting outside and taking walks. It's one of the best things we can do for ourselves. 🍁🍂
