Before the haters reply this has just been my experience and maybe I’ve been fortunate. I will just add that once you’ve had one you will want another.

But now ive seen how the market has gone with the RR's, the two points above and the theft+insurance. I can really see how much of a bargain they are. Ive been very tempted....But then Id have to leave my BMW and learn how to indicate and leave space in-between me and the car in front. Not going to happen anytime soon. Lol 😂
I love my L405. I wasn’t a 4x4 person but I ventured out to LR ownership in December (blame Dadcars for that 😂) now I wouldn’t want to daily anything else. An incredible amount of car for the money you can pick them up for now. The wife and kids love the comfort and it isn’t even that bad on fuel. If people want to hate, let them. That’s their problem. But another quality video 🤣
One thing I hate about big cars is I would be forever worried about someone hitting their car door into my car because I would take up soo much space in a parking bay
L405, covered in mud and hedge rash. It shares a garage with a TVR Griffith 500, so for me it's the perfect pairing. TBH I couldn't care less what anyone else thinks, I know it's the best car in the world for what I use it for.

@dadcars my L405 does everthing really well. I have a little farm, what else can tow 3.5t off road and can take the family on holiday to France is absolute comfort?
Nobody gets the range rover until you drive one and the cars are amazing to drive. People hate everyone for everything these days. So honestly I couldnt give a hoot if somebody looks at me with contempt. I live in a rural area when it snowed last week I would have been stuck. I wasn't the end

"they are amazing to drive" .... Is the comment from someone who isn't into driving. It's a comment from someone who wants to get from A to B in luxury and minimal effort. To me... That doesn't make them amazing to drive, that makes them boring. But each to their own.
@@asw16177that’s just over simplifying it to fit the agenda of your comment. I love driving, I do countless events track days and have done race series when I’ve had enough time and I say they are amazing to drive. It’s not because I don’t like driving it’s because for what they are they drive really nicely, the air suspension with the height and torque is just a nice combination whether you like driving or not. Porsche and BMW have my heart, but a rangey is a nice place to be with your family and encourages you to chill, my X5M50d did not encourage that at all, and you don’t want that on a family day out😅
I was scoffing a subway sandwich parked up in a carpark a few weeks ago and two cars Infront of me left in quick succession & guess what came trundling along, a Range Rover. I was initially surprised as the driver parked within one space, which I thought was a bit unusual. The driver and chap behind him got out easily and stood in the second space. Due to the driver being a selfish twat he eventually realised his passengers on the other side couldn't get out. By this time there was somebody patiently indicating thinking they would be able to park soon. So in order to free his passengers you would think he would reverse, let them out and move back. What he did instead was indeed reverse, but then he also moved over by a metre so the person already waiting had to wait for longer until the Range Rover driver had let his passengers get out and move his car back over. The group took their sweet time getting things out the car, chatting and then it came time to move the car back over to let this patiently waiting motorist park. Did he fuck, what happened instead was the Range Rover driver looked at the waiting driver, looked back at his Range Rover and then walked off having blocked the second space in a carpark that was full with people driving round trying to find spaces. That is why Range Rover drivers are hated. 99% are genuinely massive pricks. I used to drive down narrow country lanes in an old pickup, nothing was more pleasurable than watching Range Rover drivers squirm and clench as they scrape by hedgerows having not been given quite as much room as they thought they would be.
Summed it up perfectly 😂 if only the girls were in the car during filming and gave their thoughts too about mummy’s car 🤣 On a serious note getting a 10 year old Range Rover that’s well looked after is serious amount of car for the money. I think problem with most second h d cars these days is they are PCP and most therefore do the bare minimum on them, since they know they hand the car back, therefore don’t love them like they should.
I knew this could be a controversial topic so I deliberately did it solo 😅.. thanks Albert, yeah we’re really happy with it! Lovely thing to float about in.

I just love the l405 styling much more than the new one. I've only driven one but it was a 2020 few years back 3 litre diesel it drove beautiful as expected
I'm not a fan of large SUVs in general. Way too big for UK roads and generally unnecessary. I had a new Range Rover park behind me at a motorway service station and the bonnet was higher than the roof of my car!
I don't hate Range Rover owners, I am one. I'm on my fifth and never had a major problem with any of them. What I don't like are Range Rover dealers. Because of their terrible service of late, I have just ordered a brand new Audi Q8. Now that's ironic. When it comes to idiot drivers, Audi is second only to BMW. I guess i'll just have to live with it.
Very true everything you’ve said , but I love my Range Rover , wouldn’t drive anything else, and nothing else even comes close, and I’m not posh, I’m just a lorry driver who works an average of 65 to 70 hours a week , why shouldn’t I drive round in a bit of luxury ?? I’ll tell you something else to , in seven years of owning one I’ve never had an issue, up hill down dale , top to the bottom of the country, with my disabled daughters wheelchair in the boot along with everything else she needs . Best car I’ve ever owned .
You could also have had that they are permanently in the outside lane of any multi carriageway road. As an ex-BMW owner I can confirm that they were constantly getting in my way😂😂😂😂😂…you know, because I’ve actually got places to be! Great vid, hopefully most will take it in the spirit it was intended.👍
Ok this is weird. I opened up auto trader to see available Range Rover sports. Then I open UA-cam and saw your video recommended. It’s a sign that I should get it 😂 amazing video btw. Might buy the Maserati levante instead 😂
We see very few of them out here in rural-land.. they can't make it down the lanes without scrubbing the paintwork on both sides ! My only 'hate' is the fact that they're so damned high, when stuck behind one I'm unable to see what's happening a 1/2 mile up the road, very uncomfortable.. difficult to overtake.
Laughing my head off…. Yes I own a L405 Rangie and have for many years. Seriously the best car available. During the week it’s full of building shite, pulling trailers with bulk bags of sand , carrying dirty mountain bike but give it a wipe down and at the weekend happily park outside the poshest restaurant in the area, rock over to the alps, or shock horror, it can actually go over roading. Having said that I cancelled my order for the L460 as the dealer was just taking the piss on p/x and discounts and there is zero wrong with my 2019MY car. Just the other day I went to my local shopping centre where I usually reverse park my L322 at the back of the carpark as the parking spaces get incrimentally smaller the closer you get to the shops .... well this time it was rather jam packed so I just carried on to the next exit and , very Range Roverish , drove off to the next mall where there was suitable parking 😂😂😂😂 , when in Range Rover , do as Range Rover do !

Disagree with point 5, Range Rover was for footballers, MPs, royalty, etc, the suv boom began with the BMW X5, then others started so BMW hit us with the X3, then others followed with similar sized cars then the X1 and so on, they were matched step by step pretty by Audi with their lineup and VW, the popularity then sent a message to the prestige brands like Bentley, Lamborghini, Rolls Royce, Maserati, jaguar and finally Ferrari.

Dude …… you have got it totally wrong!!!! My daily drive is a 1990 Classic Range Rover that I’ve owned since new !!! Yes a one owner car!!!! And everywhere I travel I get thumbs up and smiles and waves!!!! In fact the other day a new 110 defender came up next to my RR and the guy was so impressed!!! And I yelled out the window to him saying “l bet that vehicle will not be on the road in 34 years time???” And he agreed!!! No everywhere I go in my classic I get a positive response!!! Regards Ian 👨🎤🇳🇿🥳🍸🍸
That’s awesome Ian! A classic car is completely different though 😅 🤷♂️ try driving around an L405 and feel the difference, no one will even look at you.
@ hi dad…… now to really upset you!!! I also own a suffix A 1972 Range Rover!! Yep an original two Range Rover!!! No power steering, no vinyl on the rear C pillars…. No clam like fuel cap, around key type petrol cap!!! Takes ten minutes to change from second to third!!! But such a lovely car to drive!!! The classic Range Rover is the only car to appear in the Lovure museum in Paris as a work of art!!!! Also I own a Range Rover P38…… but that’s a very sad story!!!! Regards Ian 👨🎤🇳🇿🥳🍸🍸
I wouldn’t say people hate RR’s, just that they would never own them because it does scream more money than sense. If you look at the stereotypes that buy the big standard vogues such as men with money to burn or the Evogues which seem predominantly owned by female hair salon owners, these are the types of people that like to be seen in one and willing to pay whatever it is to fix the repairs which are more likely than an equivalent alternative. If you can buy a RR fairly new, then the costly repairs are more of a drop in the ocean to these people whereas to the majority of people, it’s ridiculous costs
That was a funny video Ben, the Range Rover does have a whiff of arrogance, but who cares what anyone else thinks mate, I think the Ranger Rover is cool, cheers Marcus
To bust tye stereotypes i am a FF Range Rover driver. I am also an Alfa Romeo driver who respect all other road users. My car cist less than a 1 year old qashqai, Australia, Polo etc so not wealthy whatsoever. 96000 Miles and totally reliable over 2 years.
Ha Ha Ben, made me laugh out loud, you know why? I drive an Evoque and Range Rover drivers hate me! Lol! I don't care, I bought my 13 plate four years ago with only 32000 miles on it, now it's on 66000 and all it's needed are brake discs and pads and fresh pirelli scorpions all round and I love it!🤷😊👍♥️🏴
You forgot the 6th type of RR Owner, the one which optioned a 'removable mirror' in their centre consul, but seriously, Ford's 'Ranger Danger' drivers have a far worse reputation nowadays...
@dadcars very funny video 👌 I think Range Rover are a sign of wealth they are pretty common now so don’t really think anything when I see one unless it’s a brand spanker and wonder what the driver does to be able to afford a car that costs as much as a house 😂 if I every buy a l322 Overfinch one I will let you know 👍
I am a BMW driver I am disliked on the road, I also own a Range Rover Sport I am hated on the road, I do find the anger tones down slightly when I am in EV mode.
I TIP MY HAT to any one who has to pay £700+ to "those people in whitehall" just to put the car on the road every year. I'd love to have a Range Rover...propper one, the full fat V8 diesel ONE, OH YES.
Get a disco 5 pal. All the stuff you need without all the fluff. Plus seven proper seats. It'll be good for the content as they break down just as often as a Range Rover.
I am old enough to recall when the First RR came out and it was a gentleman car I was a police Traffic officer and I drove RR for a living and they were a super car I drove them in every weather and at very high speed then the criminals drove them and there status went down in my opinion I can say this that when a cop sees one he will take a second look and he will check it for criminal activity they are the chosen car of the Drug Dealer I would not own one for love or money the car is a target from criminals its a great shame because they are good and now copied If I was to buy a JLR product it would be the Defender Not the Range Rover but if you want police attention buy the RR
I haven't got a range rover, but I have got a BMW 640d gran coupe,my wife thinks I'm turning into a typical big BMW driver, personally I can't see it lol
To me the car makes sense esp for a family , plenty of comfortable space inside for all , a big boot for all your bags when going away on a UK holiday and with the state of todays roads with all the pot holes or worn away roads the RR will absorb all this with the chunky tyres and air suspension people are just envious of you and thats me included , I would love to own one. I see plenty of arrogant people in all sorts of cars from fords to RR , seen lots of ford fiesta cars driving through red lights or over taking , everybody does it in all cars but people make a big thing of it when its a more expensive car. Maybe ban SUV sales for young single people but other then that SUV's are good for older people or parents with kids in child seats getting in and out of.
I currently drive a Freelander 2, and my problem is I live near Greater Manchester. If Andy Burnham gets his way I will have to sell mine for one with a Euro6 engine as there's no retrofit engine available. So I'm thinking of a Range Rover Velar D300. Do you think it will attract enough envy? 😅👍lol
Range rovers are a thing of beauty, whether it’s the range sport or the daddy. I’m one of those, who is constantly close to buying one and then I’m always put off by the unreliability I keep hearing about. I know for one, if I test drive one, I will buy it instantly 😂 My friend has a range sport , 5.0 SV he’s telling me it’s been totally sound 🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️ After watching this video, I will not buy one 😂 The you must be an idiot point got me hahahaha. BTW AI says if you wasn’t reliability don’t buy a Range Rover sport. Buy a cayenne instead.
A depreciated cayenne will need money spent on it too… it’s more about if you’re willing to spend £3k+ a year on maintenance or not.. best not to buy any SUV if you want something cheap to run.
Been in loads of Range Rovers and if I could afford one I’d buy one. BMW Audi Merc are all total and utter rubbish inside. Plastic everywhere and just an upgraded version of a 3 series or equivalent.
Range rovers driven by people who dont live in the country are cringe worthy. Thinking people are envious is pure copium. If they were that much in demand they wouldnt depreciate loke a stone.
Love this video, they are bully's of the road. Until you come across us van drivers lol.. pay back baby.. if you live where I do. I do see why people love SUV. As the roads are shit with pot holes.

Now how do Range Rover owners regard the RR Evoque?
Loved this video, I have an L322 tdv8, X type Jag and a Boxster
That’s a cool trio! 👏😎
@ thanks, loving cars is a disease and I have it lol
where was the , my names ben and weeeelllcome to dad cars intro!! Great video Ben :)
lol didn’t feel like a typical video 😂
Well, that pretty much sums it up then.
😂😂
Hahaha when you described me I had a moment of self reflection icl😂
lol 👏😂 the fact you’re laughing means you’re all good though 👍
@ range is up for sale 👍 🤣
🙌😅
a 2013 Range rover in Ireland like this is still 35000 to 40000 euro,
Just like my grey LR322 Overfinch used for the graphic - currently having a engine rebuild 😢
Oh boy… I’d love to review it when it’s fixed 😅
@dadcarsof course , not got the boss plate though :)
Will message you when it’s good to go
To bust tye stereotypes i am a FF Range Rover driver. I am also an Alfa Romeo driver who respect all other road users. My car cist less than a 1 year old qashqai, Australia, Polo etc so not wealthy whatsoever. 96000 Miles and totally reliable over 2 years.
Cool intro. I won't be any of those guys
😂
Perfectly acceptable to me, if that’s what you want and are happy to pay for it good luck to you.
Why don’t you get a range Rover evoke if you are complaining that your full-size range Rover is too big?
🤢
Yeah with the engine that grenades itself 🤦🏼♂️
…because an Evoque isn’t a proper RR😂😂😂😂
Ha Ha Ben, made me laugh out loud, you know why?
I drive an Evoque and Range Rover drivers hate me! Lol!
I don't care, I bought my 13 plate four years ago with only 32000 miles on it, now it's on 66000 and all it's needed are brake discs and pads and fresh pirelli scorpions all round and I love it!🤷😊👍♥️🏴
Honestly man it doesn’t matter what others think as long as you like it 😅 p.s I don’t like the Evoque 😂
@dadcars funny guy! Bet you'd love my Onyx black DB9 though!😉😄
You forgot the 6th type of RR Owner, the one which optioned a 'removable mirror' in their centre consul, but seriously, Ford's 'Ranger Danger' drivers have a far worse reputation nowadays...
Would love a old school Range Rover l322 Overfinch 2005-7
I’d love to review one :)
Thanks for the giggle Ben. Jolly good show.🦘👍
Glad you enjoyed it 😅
Great vid 😂 out family love our L405 - insane value for money these days £
I TIP MY HAT to any one who has to pay £700+ to "those people in whitehall" just to put the car on the road every year. I'd love to have a Range Rover...propper one, the full fat V8 diesel ONE, OH YES.
Wait until April….see how much road taxes they’ll want for your car!
Big cigar, large Stately home and huge like an Aberdeen Angus bull, of course I am a Range Rover driver ha ha 😂😉
😂😂😂
No car has had a wing mirror since the 80s. It’s a door mirror 😂
Bet you're fun at parties.
I haven't got a range rover, but I have got a BMW 640d gran coupe,my wife thinks I'm turning into a typical big BMW driver, personally I can't see it lol
You can’t see anything because you’re too close to the car in front 😅
touché,my wife likes your answer
@dadcars….so the car in front should get out of the way😂😂😂😂😂
To me the car makes sense esp for a family , plenty of comfortable space inside for all , a big boot for all your bags when going away on a UK holiday and with the state of todays roads with all the pot holes or worn away roads the RR will absorb all this with the chunky tyres and air suspension people are just envious of you and thats me included , I would love to own one.
Yeah it has been fab for family road trip holidays for us :)
😅👍lol
I know someone who went from range rovers to a Bentley bentaga, then went back to rangey because Bentley soo unreliable so can't be all bad
Now that’s saying something 😅
It's the 'F*** YOU' headlights.
CarVerticle is ok but it pisses me off that you (the person who bought it ) can’t refer to it later
Yeah that’s frustrating, best to print it off or you can screen shot it
Range rovers are a thing of beauty, whether it’s the range sport or the daddy.
I’m one of those, who is constantly close to buying one and then I’m always put off by the unreliability I keep hearing about.
I know for one, if I test drive one, I will buy it instantly 😂
My friend has a range sport , 5.0 SV he’s telling me it’s been totally sound 🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️
After watching this video, I will not buy one 😂
The you must be an idiot point got me hahahaha.
You can find bentaygas for 50k 3:19
Want to be a drug dealer , depends on city
Range rovers driven by people who dont live in the country are cringe worthy. Thinking people are envious is pure copium. If they were that much in demand they wouldnt depreciate loke a stone.
Love this video, they are bully's of the road. Until you come across us van drivers lol.. pay back baby.. if you live where I do. I do see why people love SUV. As the roads are shit with pot holes.
😊
😎
Didn't know that you're real thoughts on your RR were so critical...they are completely stupid cars by the way, says he driving an xkr!
Video is so wank! @dadcars come on... RR l405 is epic!
LOL
😅
@dadcars Great video thanks 🙂
Is it weird i knew you were in portsmouth within 40 seconds of this video starting?
